I Can Gain One Skill Point Per Second

Chapter 28: Chapter 28: Shocking the Whole Arena! Solo Challenge of the A-Rank Trial!

Lin Yi was taken aback, ”You know me?”

Jiang Xian looked at Lin Yi with interest.

”I haven’t met you, but your name has almost worn out my ears.”

”My granddaughter mentions you quite a bit.”

”Even this morning, she told me to wait for you to arrange this trial for you.”

Zuo Qian’s eyes lit up as he listened.

He didn’t expect Mr. Jiang to know Lin Yi!

This makes things much easier.

Lin Yi felt a bit awkward.

The elderly man in front of him also had the surname Jiang.

Judging by what he said, it wasn’t hard to guess that Jiang Xian was probably Jiang Ya’s grandfather.

”Mr. Jiang, isn’t it a bit inappropriate to blatantly open the back door for an acquaintance?”

A somewhat cold voice came from behind Jiang Xian.

It was a young man in a suit, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, with a slightly sinister temperament.

Another person standing beside him chuckled lightly, ”And forgive me for being blunt, it’s not that we look down on Jiangcheng’s education level, but among your current freshmen, there should be few who can clear this trial. Rather than taking a spot only to die, why not make way for our Tianshui Academy freshmen to come through? We’ve traveled a long way here and don’t want to wait too long.”

Jiang Xian’s face darkened upon hearing this.

He had originally been courteous, adhering to the idea that a guest is a guest, in hosting this group who had traveled far from Tianshui, all to allow their freshman Mage aspirants to participate in this trial dungeon.

Lin Yi frowned slightly.

He really disliked the arrogant demeanor of these people, looking down their noses at others.

Indeed, these people from Tianshui Academy were mostly second-tier or even a few third-tier, but they weren’t that strong.

What were they showing off for?

In the midst of their conversation.

Suddenly, a cry came from the dungeon entrance.

Looking towards the sound, Lin Yi saw Jiang Ya looking somewhat pale, being supported by a nearby practitioner, walking in a daze.

Jiang Xian’s expression changed, and he hurried forward.

Even judging by past experiences, this Mage trial was not considered particularly difficult.

But there were always risks inherent.

Could it be that they failed to clear it?

”Xiaoya, you guys...?”

Jiang Ya was clearly in deep shock, her whole body trembling slightly, her face frighteningly pale.

Upon seeing her grandfather, Jiang Ya’s eyes turned red and tears immediately began to fall, ”Grandpa, second uncle, he, second uncle he... boo hoo!”

Jiang Xian’s face completely darkened.

He also realized that only three people had come back with his granddaughter!

Someone was missing!

It was Jiang Ya’s second uncle, Jiang Xian’s second son!

”What happened, Xiaoya, don’t cry, calm down, and tell Grandpa!”

Jiang Ya couldn’t stop trembling.

”In there... the monsters, there are too many!”

”We can’t kill them all, and as soon as we stayed in one place, more and more monsters would attack, with almost nowhere to hide in the entire space.”

”In the end, second uncle gave us the last four Dungeon Escape Scrolls, then drew the monster’s fire so we could escape!”

”Second uncle he...”

”Boo hoo hoo!”

Jiang Xian and Zuo Qian were both chilled to the core by these words!

It must be understood that this trial dungeon only allowed Mage professionals to enter.

If, as Jiang Ya said, the monsters inside would search out their tracks and constantly attack.

Without tank professionals to hold the monsters or Priest professionals for healing.

Even if all five mages except Jiang Ya were second-tier or even third-tier, they couldn’t withstand such a high-pressure situation.

It seems they had initially estimated this to be a dungeon with only around D-rank difficulty, which was entirely wrong!

Now it seemed it was at least A-rank difficulty!

”Help...!”

”There are injured here, any healer classes, please help!”

”She’s dying, please save her!”

At this moment, people kept teleporting out from the dungeon entrance.

Crying, wailing, calling for help, all mingled together.

Countless wounded, flesh dripping, some with abdomens seemingly cut open by unknown creatures’ claws, others having their legs bitten clean off.

The scene was incredibly bloody.

These must have been the first group to enter the trial dungeon, like Jiang Ya.

In an instant, the crowd of onlookers, who had been bustling and even queuing in front of the dungeon entrance, fell dead silent!

The next moment, though some remained queueing, most people backed away from the dungeon entrance, watching from afar.

These who managed to escape at least still had a chance of being rescued.

We can only imagine the fate of those who didn’t.

Zuo Qian and Jiang Xian’s faces had turned extremely dark.

They never expected what seemed like such a promising situation to become so perilous suddenly!

”Hahaha!”

”What did I say, anyhow if you go in you’ll die, might as well let us through.”

”Wouldn’t it have been better not to make us wait so long.”

The bespectacled man from Tianshui Academy adjusted his glasses on his nose and then crossed his arms, looking unaffected.

He seemed to have anticipated the situation all along.

Subsequently, over a hundred freshmen from Tianshui Academy who had come for the trial all looked delighted.

Now, there was no one queuing in front of them.

”Everyone, pay attention, this trial task is to survive for 3 hours.”

”The dungeon difficulty is A+-level, so be cautious!”

”Keep your electronic maps and strictly follow the strategy!”

The teachers from Tianshui Academy began instructing their students on precautions.

Instantly, the surrounding practitioners were full of envy.

”The difficulty isn’t just D-level, it’s A+-level!”

”It’s terrifying...!”

”What? Electronic maps?”

”They even have strategies!”

”Isn’t this a newly appeared time-limited dungeon?”

”You don’t get it, I’ve heard that many well-known vocational schools have lots of dungeon strategies we don’t know about, for trials like this needing to survive three hours, they might have prepared strategies beforehand.”

Standing beside Lin Yi, Zuo Qian smiled wryly.

”We’re inadequate.”

”Not only did we misjudge the dungeon’s difficulty, we also don’t have any of their so-called strategies.”

”I’m sorry, Jiang Ya, Lin Yi.”

The old principal seemed to age decades instantly.

He was deep in self-recrimination and guilt.

The most dreaded thing is comparison.

Others were well-prepared, showcasing the difference between a professional practitioner academy and their small base city high school.

”Mr. Zuo, you don’t need to apologize for things beyond your control.”

”Even without strategies, without electronic maps, I don’t think this trial would be too difficult. I’d like to give it a try.”

If this trial were truly only D-level in difficulty, Lin Yi would find it rather dull.

Now, seeing so many people falter within it.

It piqued his interest instead.

”But given the current situation, there might not be anyone willing to team up with you...”

Zuo Qian believed Lin Yi should have the ability.

But he voiced the awkward current situation.

In this state of peril, who would be willing to team up with him to enter this dungeon!

However, in the split second when no one reacted—

They saw Lin Yi step into the dungeon entrance and vanish!
