Supreme Sword God

Chapter 27: Chapter 27: I’ll Smash You with One Punch!

Early in the morning, Ye Chen retreated from the Sword Tomb and took a short rest.

Before long, Su Jianghai’s voice sounded from outside the room.

”Brother Ye, I’ve asked someone to prepare some breakfast.”

Yesterday, after meeting Ye Chen, Su Jianghai felt that Ye Chen might have some connections behind him, so he thought to curry favor a bit. Bringing breakfast today was a way to further their relationship, and he directly started calling him Brother Ye.

Ye Chen opened the door, took the food box from Su Jianghai, and said, ”Thank you, Brother Su.”

Su Jianghai smiled and said, ”Brother Ye, I won’t disturb your rest any longer.”

Returning to the room, Ye Chen ate breakfast and then practiced his cultivation technique on his own. Although the cultivation efficiency was far slower than refining the tombstone, it had the advantage of being gradual.

Refining the tombstone rapidly increased his strength, but his dantian couldn’t handle it for now.

However, by cultivating slowly, his dantian could gradually adapt.

Before he knew it, it was noon.

Outside, the atmosphere became lively.

”Did you hear? The brat who moved straight into a room last night is Ye Chen from Qingyun City!”

”Ye Chen... the name sounds somewhat familiar, seems like I’ve heard it somewhere before.”

”Of course it’s familiar. Isn’t he the brat who offended the Elder Gu Yue of the Celestial Sword Sect a while ago? Because of offending Gu Yue, his family was destroyed, and he became a homeless stray.”

”Yes, that’s him. It seems he even killed Huang Tianxiong of the True Essence Realm Third Layer in Qingyun City.”

”That’s nothing. How strong can a True Essence Realm Third Layer in Qingyun City be? I heard that this useless Ye Chen nearly killed himself to defeat Huang Tianxiong.”

”It’s strange that this brat could make it alive to the Cangxing Martial Arts Academy. By right, there should be many people wanting his head for that inner sect disciple spot of the Celestial Sword Sect.”

”I heard... someone from the Bai Family even went after him!”

”The Overlord Spear Bai Family?”

”Yes, in the Bai Family’s direct lineage, there are two, Bai Sen and Bai Feng. Bai Sen is twenty years old and in the True Essence Realm Ninth Layer and reserved an inner courtyard disciple spot. Bai Feng is in the True Essence Realm Seventh Layer and wants to enter the Celestial Sword Sect. The Bai Family going after Ye Chen’s head was for Bai Feng.”

”Seems like Ye Chen is crafty, probably sneaking around avoiding those trying to intercept him. Right, someone seems to have just seen Ye Chen’s registered personal information, and he’s only at the Gathering Yuan Realm Tenth Layer.”

”Tsk, I thought he might be a member of a prestigious family or an extraordinary genius, but turns out he’s just a stray dog. On what grounds does he get to stay in a room?!”

”Everyone, listen to me.”

At this moment, a young man with a smile on his face stepped forward.

”Young Master Yu, please speak.” Someone in the crowd recognized the young man and saluted him.

Hearing this person is surnamed Yu, others immediately showed flattering expressions.

The young master, named Yu Heng, is a cousin of Yu Chengguang. He had just received a message from Yu Chengguang asking him to deal with Ye Chen. Therefore, he arranged for people to spread the news about Ye Chen.

Yu Heng said, ”Every time before the Cangxing Martial Arts Academy assessment, all participating young people gather here, and there are only so many rooms. Traditionally, those who are stronger get to stay; this is the rule.

What ability does Ye Chen have to deserve staying in a room?

Even though I don’t know what connections got him in there, his strength doesn’t qualify him!

I, Yu, am willing to step forward and lead everyone to seek fairness. If those behind Ye Chen want to blame someone afterward, I, Yu, will bear the consequences alone!”

”Young Master Yu already has a place to stay, yet he’s willing to stand up for us. We are impressed. As for those behind Ye Chen wanting to hold someone accountable, this responsibility doesn’t fall on Young Master Yu alone. We will all bear it together!”

”Yes, let’s go drive out that brat. If he can stay, why can’t I?!”

Seeing that emotions were stirred, Yu Heng said, ”Everyone, let’s go then.”

A moment later.

While cultivating in the room, Ye Chen heard a series of angry roars from outside.

”Ye Chen, get out here!”

”You better wise up, or I’ll come in there and drag you out myself!”

”Hiding in there like a turtle? I’ll count to three, and if you don’t come out, don’t blame me for being rude.”

A burly guy walked up to the door. He was in the True Essence Realm Second Layer. Even though he wasn’t particularly strong, he wasn’t weak either. In terms of combat strength, he believed himself much stronger than Huang Tianxiong from Qingyun City. At this moment, he was imagining driving Ye Chen out and taking the room for himself.

Having been outside for days without a place to sleep, he had enough!

”One!”

”Two!”

”Three!”

The burly man shouted ”three,” and immediately strode to the door, reaching out a hand to grab it.

But before his hand could touch the door, it suddenly opened.

Immediately, a powerful force swept out from inside.

”Boom!”

The burly man’s body was instantly knocked back.

Ye Chen charged out suddenly, quickly extended a hand to grab the man’s ankle, and then slammed him hard onto the ground!

”Bang!”

The ground seemed to shake.

The burly man lay face down on the ground, twitching all over.

Ye Chen stepped directly on the man’s body, walked to the crowd, and glanced around. Every gaze fixed on him seemed to be shooting fire.

From the sounds he heard in the room earlier, Ye Chen roughly guessed the cause of the situation.

Having just moved in last night, he had suspected something might go wrong, so he wasn’t too surprised. He looked around and said, ”Whoever is stronger gets to stay; that’s fair. You come to challenge me, I’ll give you the chance, but I don’t want to waste too much time. Send out the strongest one, and let’s settle it once!”

At times like this, words are useless.

Only by using strength to subdue them would work!

Yu Heng’s eyes flashed, and he said, ”Ye Chen, since this is a fair challenge, wasn’t it despicable of you to make a move as soon as you opened the door?”

”Exactly, launching a sneak attack is downright shameless!”

”Ye Chen, I’ll fight you!”

Ye Chen ignored the clamor, looking at Yu Heng. This group seemed to be centered around him, so he said, ”It’s you.”

Yu Heng didn’t expect Ye Chen to single him out, snorted, and said, ”I have a place to stay; there’s no need to fight you. I’m just here for fairness with everyone.”

”So you’re the instigator!” Ye Chen said. ”If I defeat you, it means I’m stronger, more qualified to stay in the room, and you can give up your room.”

”I’m in the True Essence Fifth Layer, and you’re just in the Gathering Yuan Tenth Layer. You don’t qualify to make me take action. Even if I defeat you, it would only dirty my hands.” Yu Heng said disdainfully.

He had received a message from Yu Chengguang, who only mentioned that Ye Chen mastered the Gale and Slaughter Sword Intent, with combat power comparable to—True Essence Realm Fourth Layer. So Yu Heng didn’t take Ye Chen seriously at all.

In fact, Yu Chengguang hadn’t misled Yu Heng.

At the time, Yu Chengguang had suppressed his cultivation to the True Essence Realm Third Layer and had been defeated by Ye Chen in one move, only able to estimate that Ye Chen’s combat power was around the True Essence Realm Fourth Layer. Moreover, Yu Chengguang didn’t tell Yu Heng about his embarrassing defeat, as it was too humiliating to mention!

”Young Master Yu, there’s no need for you to handle people like this. I’ll teach him a lesson!” shouted someone standing next to Yu Heng.

Yu...?

”You’re from the Yu Family?” Ye Chen asked.

”Indeed, my name is Yu Heng,” Yu Heng said arrogantly.

Ye Chen had already thought this guy resembled Yu Chengguang, neither of them were any good; turns out, birds of a feather flock together!

”Ye Chen, even if you’re afraid now, it’s too late. I guarantee I’ll make you beg for mercy with one punch!” The guy standing beside Yu Heng shouted, then leaped up and struck with a forceful right fist.

The power of a True Essence Realm Third Layer erupted suddenly!

The wind from the punch howled and thundered.

A cold light flashed in Ye Chen’s eyes; he snorted and launched a punch in return.

Sword essence condensed on his fist and didn’t dissipate, appearing unremarkable.

Seeing this, everyone watching in disbelief.

Such a weak-looking punch, what’s its use?

Probably, it would be crushed directly, leaving him seriously injured!

”Bang!”

The two fists collided.

A dull sound echoed.

Ye Chen’s unassuming-looking punch sent his opponent flying over ten meters.

The guy who had just been clamoring about knocking Ye Chen to his knees with one punch lay on the ground, spat a mouthful of blood, and passed out.

The entire crowd was stunned!

Ye Chen, so strong?!
