Bear School Astartes

Under the special application of force, the air twisted and spiraled like a flexible snake, wrapping around the boots of Lann’s attached plate armor.

Finally, at the tip of Lann’s foot, an air mass was gathered, showing an obvious difference in refractive index from the surrounding air.

[Immortal Peak Fist Technique · Immortal Peak Kick]!

”Bang!”

Like a shadow, it collided directly with the One-eyed Man’s chest armor!

The bronze armor had only a shallow dent, but the essence of the [Immortal Peak Temple’s Fist Technique] is the penetrating air hammer.

Within this layer of bronze chest armor, the delayed impact force had already infiltrated into the body.

”Ugh!!!”

The One-eyed Man, who was just as fierce as an evil spirit, now couldn’t help but let out a muffled groan of pain.

The sweat on his muscular skin was shaken by the kick into tiny droplets scattered in the air.

At first, his head seemed unresponsive, frozen in place.

Yet his body, already kicked away, extended his neck long.

His sturdy and tall body even skidded a few times on the ground, then, like a bowling ball, crashed into a few of his henchmen behind him, and with a ’thud’, his upper body slammed into the wall of the port house.

The henchmen of the One-eyed Man seemed unable to comprehend how their boss could be dispatched so quickly.

They could only grip their weapons in bewilderment, their eyes darting back and forth between the One-eyed Man slumped in the corner and Lann approaching unhurriedly.

”If you still want to fight, I suggest you go over there.”

Lann pointed behind him, where Cassandra was battling. Amidst the sounds of blades tearing through flesh, her bold and powerful shouts of fury could be heard.

She seemed quite excited, enjoying the battle.

Thus, under Lann’s gaze, the group of thugs hurriedly ran far away, unsure whether to cause trouble for Cassandra or to simply throw down their weapons and make their escape.

Lann walked up to the One-eyed Man.

Now, the tall and robust man sat slumped on the ground against the wall, his legs still able to twitch on the ground, but his arms lay limp, hanging from the wall to the ground.

Lann watched this scene as a matter of course.

The force he used just now was well controlled, the delayed force of the air hammer penetrating into the body, probably shattering three pairs of ribs and one pair of collarbones, with accompanying internal organ damage.

Without collarbone support, human arm force is more than half wasted.

The One-eyed Man’s muscle strength reached 80% of Lann’s, but his bone strength was far inferior.

If Lann had taken that hit, the most serious result would have been a minor fracture. Moreover, with the [Bone Reinforcement Organ], bone damage would heal much faster than a regular person, and the post-healing strength would be higher, not becoming fragile or weak due to old injuries.

Now the One-eyed Man’s nose and mouth were bleeding, his eyes starting to daze. But as Lann approached, he still managed to raise his eyes with difficulty.

”It feels terrible having damaged organs, I know that.” Lann squatted in front of the One-eyed Man, speaking straightforwardly. ”I don’t like torturing people for information. If you can answer my question directly, I’ll give you a quick death.”

The One-eyed Man’s mouth twitched in anger initially, but in the face of impending death, he ultimately chose reason. He nodded silently.

”You previously hired a capable mercenary, a woman, to kill Marcos.”

As he spoke, Lann took out the papyrus paper and waved it in front of the One-eyed Man to jog his memory.

”Why did this person not complete the task after leaving you? Who called her away?”

The One-eyed Man struggled to part his lips and seemed to be able to say quite a lot.

But after struggling for a while, the visceral pain made his face grimace even more, and he finally only managed to say a simple name.

The information was somewhat vague, but as Lann himself said, he didn’t enjoy torturing people. Since the One-eyed Man had revealed information, Lann wasn’t prepared to make him suffer further.

After Cassandra finished handling the battlefield, she untied that old man who had just been dunked into the big pot, along with his thirty-some crew members.

When this group of people arrived at Lann’s location, they only saw the Demon Hunter standing against the wall. At his feet, the One-eyed Man, head drooped, had blood flowing from his throat, staining a large area of the ground.

A sailor stuttered and asked, ”The One-eyed Man from Kefalonia Island... just died like that?”

”Bah, the people on the island no longer have to live in fear because of him,” another sailor replied gruffly.

Cassandra didn’t pay attention to the whispers among the sailors behind her.

She first walked over to the One-eyed Man’s corpse, lifted its big head with her hand, and looked at the wounds. Then, raising her head with a slanted upward glance, she gazed at Lann’s side profile.

”A clean death.”

The Demon Hunter could hear a tinge of regret in her tone.

”Hmm, you had a deep grudge against him?”

”No, he was always bullying us, but because I was there, he never caused any substantial harm. I just regret not having been able to fight him.”

As she spoke, Cassandra fixed her gaze tightly on Lann, with implied intent.

”I rarely get to see warriors like him in this small place.”

This was an era where true warriors valued the pursuit of honor more than life. Fighting to the death with a strong opponent was seen as a perfect end, and one should thank the gods for such a fate.

Though Lann also enjoyed the thrill and the rush of danger when blades grazed his skin, his views on life and honor didn’t quite resonate with the locals.

So he ignored Cassandra’s wild and eager gaze, changing the subject.

”Let’s get these people on board. At least leave the port for now. The One-eyed Man didn’t control an island with just this few people.”

Cassandra looked at Lann’s deliberately turned side profile, then smiled amusingly and joined him by the wall on the other side of the One-eyed Man’s corpse.

Barnabas, now free, urged his crew to hurry and release the ship from the port’s constraints by removing the hooks and short bars embedded in the ship, regaining its freedom.

Lann and Cassandra also boarded the Adrestia, leaving the port with them.

”Zeus! These pirates are too vicious!”

Standing on the deck, Barnabas, who had just been tortured, now appeared unprecedentedly at ease and comforted, like he had come home. At the same time, this naturally optimistic and slightly chatty captain was returning to his original character, recovering from the life-and-death crisis.

”Lucky you were on our side; those thugs looked scared to death by you two!”
