Chapter 414: 414. Cultivation experiment

Margaret and Lann walked together toward the Crystal Cultivation Project laboratory.

On the way, the Female Warlock smiled at Lann mockingly.

”It seems that our exceptionally talented Demon Hunter has had the limelight stolen by a Kovir Mage this time.”

”Rita~” Lann let out a long, helpless cry, and the Female Warlock wisely gestured with her finger over her lips to indicate she would say no more.

”A large research project has countless barriers to overcome. Both I and that... Mage? have only tackled a portion of what we’ve encountered so far. There’s nothing to be concerned about.”

Lann said calmly.

Neither of them seemed to remember the Kovir Mage’s convoluted name well, possibly because neither had made an effort to memorize it.

Lann truly didn’t mind others taking the spotlight in research projects. Rather, he felt it saved him a lot of trouble.

After actively participating in cutting-edge scientific projects in the Magic World, Lann profoundly felt the complexity of research.

A large engineering project not only has breakthroughs in key technologies but also countless minor technical breakthroughs.

These minor breakthroughs are not difficult but aren’t very important.

However, without someone devoting energy and resources to research them, their progress wouldn’t automatically increase.

Simply put: they’re not the most important, but they still require investment.

If these minor technologies were left to Lann, the progress would surely be rapid, but his time and energy would be consumed by them, leaving him unable to focus on truly important projects.

If he could leave these topics to others, like the Kovir Mage to tackle, it would indeed be both worry-free and time-saving.

Lann’s initial goal was to become a role akin to an academic leader.

The significance of this role lies in the ability to discern which topics are important, which are not, and allocate topics based on importance to researchers who are suited to them. And due to your academic status and achievements, others are likely to support your decision.

Lann not only wants to lead this academic research but also wishes for numerous Warlocks and Mages to act as support, advancing together with him.

In this way, promoting interstellar civilization-level body enhancement surgery won’t take an unbearably long time.

”I recently obtained intelligence from the Dwarf Settlement in the Amel Mountains. If this experiment goes smoothly, I should set off after completing the trial.”

Margaret appeared calm upon hearing of the Demon Hunter’s travel arrangements.

They were not children anymore; each had their own career and goals, and they would understand and compromise with each other.

Working tirelessly for their goals, separating, is a natural thing.

Though Margaret clung to Lann dearly, whether in bed or usually, when there were matters to handle, she wouldn’t cling like a little girl.

Moreover, isn’t there the thing called ”Teleportation” in this world?

”Then let’s seize the time,” Margaret arranged effectively and briskly, showing the demeanor fit for managing an entire castle.

She slightly pressed her temple, and the sudden chaos magic power caused the Roaring Bear Head Necklace on Lann’s chest to tremble.

Margaret was engaging in a telepathic conversation.

”The logistics department is already en route; this experiment uses academy funding. I’ve had them urgently dispatch five sets of experimental resources.”

”If the five experiments cannot yield results, it means the Kovir Mage’s theory is flawed and needs re-validation.”

”Urgent?” Lann was somewhat puzzled.

”Codwin has a big noble who happened to be injured by a fiend... in the lower body, you know the hygiene standards of fiends, right?”

Margaret explained to the Demon Hunter in a subtle tone.

The tone lay between sarcasm and sympathy.

”He went on a hunting trip far and wide, delayed treatment, then the infected wound had to be amputated. Tishaya sees this as a great opportunity to promote crystal cultivation technology to the noble circle. Once you succeed here, the experimental data can support the precision required for cultivating the cavernosal tissue, then they can start collecting money.”

”Okay, okay, starting to recoup costs from the experiment, indeed quite a responsibility.”

-----------------

In Airetusa’s Crystal Cultivation Laboratory, five sets of equipment were already arranged on the laboratory bench, each in place.

The silk cloth transmitting magic power was arranged in a criss-cross, stacked under the large clear crystal surface.

The nutrient solution and potions concocted through alchemy were also ready.

”Shhh-”

Lann quickly browsed through the materials sent by the Kovir Mage again, confirming he had almost grasped their theory.

Aside from Lann who was in the project group, Philixia also watched the experiment nervously from a corner.

Margaret stood by, accompanied by two Female Warlocks.

One was responsible for documenting the experiment, immediately filing upon results.

The other was from the academy’s logistics department, ensuring the resources sent over were proper and usable.

Regardless of trust, this was the regimen of a major organization.

”The spell structure sent over from Kovir is like this, with a high precision requirement, can this be done?”

Lann extracted a sheet from the materials and handed it to Margaret.

The current dean casually glanced over.

”The incantation is quite a mouthful... but no problem, very simple.”

There might only be a handful of people in this world who would call magic of this precision ’very simple’.

Margaret’s talent in incantations was undeniable.

Tishaya even once taught Margaret’s grandmother, but in the end, she passed the position of Airetusa’s dean to this Female Warlock now.

Lann opened his mouth, realizing he was beginning to understand how the Old Demon Hunters felt facing him.

”Ahem, let’s start with a batch of experiments kicking off then; this is the ’faulty organ’ I designed, ensuring every ’fault’ is correct.”

On the blueprint Lann handed to Margaret were a bunch of chaos magic power input parameters.

These were results calculated and converted by Lann and Mentos. If parameters were visualized into an intuitive image, it would be a tubular organ accommodating a complex structure within a small volume.

In other words, the interstellar warrior surgery’s - [Bone Reinforcement Organ].

”Okay.” Margaret casually shrugged and rolled her pretty eyes lightly at Lann, ”Faulty organ, hmm. I’ll get it done.”

After Philixia, responsible for odds and ends, finally confirmed the placement of crystals and runic silk cloth, as well as the gradation of the nutrient solution, chaos magic power began to output under a specific incantation.

Just like when cultivating the [Second Heart] last time.

The runes on the runic silk cloth illuminated segment by segment, ultimately gathering light at the crystal under the cross.

In the nutrient solution, turbid substances began to form, steadily gathering and taking shape...

”Hmm, the first experiment failed, deduced cause was the boundary disarray of cell regeneration; slight adjustment, let’s prepare for the next experiment.”

Lann calmly observed the ’broth’ in front of him, noting down with the feather pen, then moved to the second set of equipment.
