Bear School Astartes

Lann stood on the terrace of Airetusa Academy early the next morning, wearing an outfit that matched the aesthetic of this world.

The linen shirt Margaret gave him seemed intentionally to have its top button removed, leaving him unable to fully cover his sharply defined physique.

His lower half consisted of tight riding trousers paired with leather boots.

Last night, when Margaret was selecting clothes for him, she wanted him to wear the courtly tight-fitting garment required for solemn occasions.

But Lann felt that if he put on that thing, he probably wouldn’t even be able to squat into a stance for action without tearing the fabric under his arms and crotch.

The Female Warlock didn’t insist he wear such restrictive clothing, considering she’d prepared an entire wardrobe of men’s attire for Lann in the headmistress’s bedroom.

She fully respected the Demon Hunter’s aesthetic and habits, as well as his rapidly growing physique.

If anything, these restrictions injected a bit of fun into Margaret’s design and styling efforts.

As for those clothes bought but never used?

...In this port trading city, nobody’s heard of the renowned Marguerite Lox Andelie actually caring about such trivial amounts of money for clothes.

Airetusa is a large castle built on a gigantic offshore reef, connected to Gos Velen by a wide but not long sea bridge.

The castle, adapted to the terrain, has a complex three-dimensional spatial layout.

Lann now stood on the terrace, which was a large platform hanging in mid-air, below which waves crashed against the castle’s foundation.

The young Demon Hunter took no sword.

His heels didn’t touch the ground; only his toes were exerted, standing.

His breathing was long; his chest rose and fell rhythmically. Meanwhile, one could distinctly sense his body swaying like waves in the sea.

As if with each breath, his body underwent buoyancy changes in the air.

High kicks, jumping in place... Lann, in his casual wear, sprang up like pulling green onions from the dry ground, his hands reaching a height of nearly four meters.

”Light Body Skill standard training complete, completion rate 88%.”

Mentos’s smart voice accurately provided this training evaluation upon Lann’s landing.

”Your skill level now, compared to the wolf, is already at thirty percent. Progress is rapid.”

With winter setting in, the piercing sea wind tousled Lann’s silver hair.

He raised his hand to tidy the strands blown before his eyes, his expression calm.

”The wolf is a genius ninja; I’m barely maintaining this practice pace with the super high blood oxygen provided by two hearts, but to be honest... even if I train to the same degree as the wolf, Light Body Skill can’t become my main combat technique.”

After all, he isn’t a Ninja; he won’t abandon armor that greatly enhances tolerance when facing unknown dangers in the otherworld.

And with Light Body Skill, even the Eight Hundred Nuns who’ve trained for god knows how many years dare only perform it wearing loose monk robes.

”Either enchant the armor with runes to make it lighter, or I need to push the Interstellar Warrior surgery to the transplantation of the Third Lung, relying on its extraordinary breathing efficiency to lift bricks easily.”

Lann muttered.

Light Body Skill relies on breathing and strength to change buoyancy in the air, achieving lightness without diminishing weight or basic power.

The Third Lung’s far-beyond-human-limit breathing efficiency could really enable Lann to wear heavy armor yet remain agile.

Mentos immediately established two mission goals in the system, after weighing them, offered a tip.

”Sir, given our current progress, the Third Lung seems too distant. But armor enchantment is a feasible choice, given you’re at Airetusa Academy.”

Hearing this, Lann’s initially bland expression turned sour.

First, he’s not one to invest thoughts and resources in ’transitional equipment.’

In games, he often preferred leveling up faster, pondering equipment combinations only after reaching the top level.

Spending effort on equipment set to be replaced eventually... that’s just exhausting.

This armor was high-grade Bear School Armor obtained from Bordeaux, but now, his height’s approaching two meters.

Bordeaux was only 1.9 meters tall; given some time, this set of armor definitely needs adjustments.

Perhaps later, he must begin gathering higher-level Demon Hunter equipment diagrams to tackle unforeseen, multi-tier dangers in the otherworld.

Secondly...

”Enchanting isn’t cheap either!”

Lann slapped his forehead, speaking almost in sigh.

”Though enchanting is a magical craft inferior to the cutting-edge magic pack technology, walking through a full armor set might cost four or five thousand Oren.”

”This is not a technique prepared for ordinary Warriors or solo Demon Hunters. It’s the converter for knights and famous warriors, allowing them a pathway to turn wealth into combat power.”

Lann guessed, if such a knight with meticulously enchanted full gear stood armored and ready before a Demon Hunter, it would feel torturous.

Count Steza once had the means to assemble a set for himself, but he wasn’t renowned as a Warrior.

He had no battlefield demands, never anticipated one breaking through his manor’s defenses alone.

Thus, placing two hundred warriors and a Warlock steward in the manor made him feel secure.

But after the night Lann became famous for Hunting Marquis, the demand for enchantment technology on the continent rose, akin to orders for Anti-Magic Gold, climbing, in short supply.

Lann’s actions deeply influenced nobles’ consumption trends, which in turn affected the entire continent’s market.

Nobles hold the bulk of wealth on this continent, and when they collectively make trend-setting consumption decisions, the resultant movement and impact are significant.

The initiator stirring the market for goods, faced with his ’poverty’, covered his face in lament.

Mentos in his brain could not empathize, being a biological mind; it only hoped the host maintained sugar intake to avoid hunger, without concern for other things.

Fortunately though, from the perspective of those capable, ’lacking money’ appears merely short-term discomfort. Lann perceives himself as competent.

He indeed has a preliminary idea to improve his long-term financial status.

The Demon Hunter quickly readjusted his mood, reengaging in morning exercise.

He will soon begin practicing the ”Immortal Peak Temple Martial Arts Manual” given by Black Conical Hat Li.

This martial arts set’s air hammer technique sparked his inspiration, within the footsteps rich in Eastern characteristics, his punches and kicks upon landing can explode a layer of air originally enveloped around the limbs outward, forming additional shock waves.

To outsiders in this world, this technique that mobilizes, compresses, releases air seems like magic.

At least in Airetusa’s high-level headmistress chamber, Tishaya before using her sensing believed Demon Hunter developed an Alder’s Rune variant.

Meticulously groomed, impeccably ordered eyebrows slightly furrowed, those eyes, experienced in the vicissitudes yet still beautiful, remained motionless.

”Knowledge of alien worlds... truly something even I find curious.”

Typically, Tishaya, living with utmost regularity, stands at the floor-to-ceiling window watching the sea to relax amidst work, but would promptly sit back down to her chair accurately on the fifth minute.

Yet now, she’s observed the Demon Hunter on the terrace for a full half-hour.
