Blood Awakening: The Strongest Hybrid and His Vampire Bride

Chapter 419: Lunaria’s decision

Nikolai sat on the wooden porch, which looked odd because of the western-style mansion, mixed with an eastern-style garden. ”Dad said it was due to the constant fusion of east and west within the volkov family. Though it doesn’t look so bad...”

He dangled an iced lollipop while watching the ocean flow with a loud swish.

”Nikolai, are you alright?”

Lunaria’s voice came from the main mansion.

She wore a light kimono with a short skirt similar to Kumiko’s but with a peach colour to suit her complexion and hair.

He watched her creep closer with a smile while admiring her.

”You look great with your hair up, Luna.”

Lunaria blushed, touching her draped bangs, the soft sidelocks partially tied up in a loose bun with chopsticks holding it in place. In her hand, a small iced snack, likely mochi filled with ice cream and then sat beside him, with a faint blush on her cheeks.

”R-Really... Hehe.”

The breeze increased when she sat down, swishing him with her bushy tail. ”I wanted to ask you something, Kai.”

Nikolai sat up, and he noticed the change in her words. She only used Kai during sex or when asking something serious, though she did playfully call him. Her voice didn’t sound playful, even though she was wearing such a cute outfit.

”What’s the matter, Luna?” He shifted closer, the scent of her perfume carried hints of peach and vanilla. ”Is there something wrong?” His eyes focused on her reaction, the flick of her ears and the way she turned away were giveaways.

”Y-You know... It’s about us, about everyone.”

”Hmmm, I see.”

He didn’t interrupt her, but listened with his chest racing.

Does she want to break up?

Was I bad in bed... maybe I was too rough and hurt her?

All sorts of questions shot through his mind.

That’s when she looked up, silver eyes with a faint shimmer, inside her iris, small flecks of light danced.

To Nikola, her gaze always reminded him of the night sky, as if her eyes contained stars.

She paused. Clenching her fists as she lifted her chin, then opened her soft, glossy lips.

”I don’t want you to misunderstand, but I want to take birth control...”

”Eh?”

At first, his mind throbbed with white noise, static.

Then obvious questions...

”Did it hurt that much?”

”Huh?” Lunaria tilted her head, then answered. ”Well it hurt... but only for a few moments... by the end I couldn’t stop cumm...” Her hands covered her face, which turned bright red. ”F-Forget what I said, i’m not a lewd woman!”

Hmmm?

Why is she reacting so strangely... is cumming bad?

Well, it’s not important now, I wasn’t bad. Thank god!

Nikolai watched her face. Lunaria showed several emotions: embarrassment, delight, shock, anger, then she seemed to collect herself and lowered her hands... the soft peach gloss on her lips smudged a little.

”It’s not that.”

”You sure?”

”If any woman complained about that... they’re frigid and will never reach orgasm in their lives!”

”Ok...”

The excitement and animation of Luna’s face and voice killed all thoughts that Nikolai did something wrong or badly during her first time.

”T-Then why?” He asked with his voice breaking at the start.

Lunaria placed her hand on her ample chest. ”You know... I’ve held a childish love for you for decades, and now, finally, that love has become something more. It’s real.” Her eyes sparkled with a silver light, and an aura flickered from her body as she showed a faint smile. ”I’m happy, so happy right now that I could die tomorrow and have no regrets. But.”

Nikolai listened to her words intently, wanting to avoid missing anything.

”But...?”

”I don’t want to hold you back, to become something that limits your abilities.” Her eyes became sharp, and she cupped Nikolai’s cheeks, brushing them with her delicate fingertips. ”I love you. But we have done nothing but add to your burdens in the past months, can you not agree?”

”...”

I do... fighting around them, or with them, in possible danger always lingers in my mind.

That’s when his mind started ticking—the determined look and her choice to take birth control made some sense.

If she became pregnant, that would mean all his women would be vulnerable for at least twelve months or more... Leona didn’t have the strength to fight thier enemies off either.

”Maybe...”

”Yes, I want you to use those elixirs from the tower. Make me stronger, train with me until you leave... We both grow stronger through fighting, becoming wounded and healing. Don’t treat me like your lover for a week... but a rival.”

”Luna...”

She leaned closer, thier lips touching lightly. ”I can wait, our child... we have hundreds of years. But to protect everyone so you can have peace of mind. This is the only way, right?”

”...did you hear what my father said?”

Lunaria’s lips quivered, but she didn’t hide anything. ”Your father told us after he told you, those who weren’t there because he views us as his daughters.” She smiled back and kissed Nikolai again, the soft smack warm and sweet.

The warmth of her breath blew into his mouth as she pulled away.

”Are you sure...?”

To choose this means she is more serious about our relationship than I was...

”I am your wife, what benefits you benefits me and vice versa.”

She cupped his cheek with a smile that shone. ”You are my husband, and I love you. It’s my job as your wife to make sure your path isn’t blocked.”

”Then what is my job as your husband?”

Lunaria’s nose sniffled as she giggled. ”You fool, don’t you know? You are here to love me, protect me and make the world seem much brighter.” She leaned in and hugged him. ”Haha~! Don’t worry, life with you is the best time of my life... You are my dream.”

Nikolai’s face turned hot. It was the first time he’d experienced such an honest emotional connection with a woman...

”If I leave, it might take a month, maybe two.”

”Then I can visit... there exist a thing called a plane, or video chat... I am sure you can fly home for a few days?” Lunaria’s beaming gaze and earnest solutions made his chest throb, racing faster each time he understood that all his women probably felt the same, but couldn’t say it out loud...

Ivan wasn’t wrong; he didn’t have enough time to understand his desires with them around. He loved them, and they loved him. Wasn’t that all that mattered?

To think the answer existed so simply.

Nikolai leaned back with a sigh. ”I can’t beleive I kept limiting myself, boxing my choices and actions like a fool...”

Poof!

Lunaria flopped against his chest, her head resting just beneath his chin, ”Do you think you are god? I imagine even god would make mistakes... so don’t try to be perfect.”

She snuggled into his body while hugging around him, her voice murmuring against his skin. ”It’s fine if we get hurt a little, that way you’ll learn how to protect us properly, right?”

”Luna...”

”Kai, there isn’t a single answer to a problem. Life isn’t math, but multiple choice.”

Her long lashes fluttered as he covered her face from the sun, reaching over for the peach mochi, now defrosted enough to eat.

”Then should I just live as I want?”

”Nope,” she answered while munching on the snack.

”Eh? Then what do I do?”

Lunaria giggled softly and then kissed his chin with sticky lips. ”You have to listen to me... hehe~” Her pink tongue licked his cheek as she opened her mouth and bit the iced snack from his mouth... their lips brushing together.

”Hey! No fair, that’s mine now.” Nikolai smiled in a carefree way for the first time in a long time, like a boy with his first love.

Lunaria licked her fingers while glancing back at him, then leaned in and closed his mouth with hers.

Nikolai’s eyes shrank, the icy cold peach flavour mixed with Luna’s saliva and warmth as her tongue curled around his, dancing together in a wet slurp. He gripped her shoulder with one hand, the other moving to rub her thighs, sliding up under her skirt...

He moved slowly and pulled back.

”See? Don’t think too much and just take action.” Her eyes narrowed, the sticky bridge of peach forming a bridge between their tongues.

Nikolai kissed her again. Their breaths turned hot as their fingers intertwined.

I have such a fantastic wife...

The breeze picked up, shaking Luna’s kimono as she straddled Nikolai’s torso. Nikolai didn’t fully understand her strange advice, but the one thing he did get was that he should just do as he wishes.

”You can take the birth control, do whatever makes you happy.”

”Fufu~ but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to have sex.”

He nibbled her lower lip, ”Don’t test me, I won’t let you walk for a week.”

”Yeah...?” Lunaria’s breathing became rough, ”I... I’d love that.”
