Genetic Ascension

Chapter 2091: Father

”Why if it isnʼt our friends of the Weaver Guild. I was wondering when you would make an appearance.” Elder Verale said with a cheerful smile.

”Oh my…” Elder Stav stood up a little straighter, smoothing out his robes with his stony hands. ”We havenʼt been formally introduced. Might I ask what your name is, beauty?”

Elder Verale giggled, but before she could reply, a beam of light left the eyes of the Golmara Elder by her side.

Chi.

It cut across the air with impossible quickness, slashing apart a portal that had only just formed and presumably killing whoever had been in the middle of using it to appear right in front of the Weaver Guild Elder.

Elder Stav punched out.

BOOM.

He took a single step back and then looked at his knuckle. Chipped stone and bits and pieces fell, but otherwise he seemed completely fine. Still, his eyes narrowed.

The defenses of the Drevak were second to none in the entire Mortal Plane. Even though it was a sneak attack, taking a bit of him should have been impossible.

He shook his head. ”All this because I tried to flirt with a beauty. Canʼt a man have some fun in his old age.”

Elder Verale giggled again. ”Of course you can, it will just be a matter of whether my companions allow it. They are quite fiercely protective of me, Iʼm a bit helpless as well.”

”Itʼs no matter, no matter. Maybe we could have a date after all these small fry are disposed of?” Elder Stav said with a smile.

Elder Verale covered her mouth. ”You are quite bold. But if we have children, how will I know how good of a father you could be? You havenʼt brought any youths to compare.”

Elder Stavʼs lip twitched. This woman really did well to hide daggers in the beautiful smile of hers.

They hadnʼt brought any youths over because this was practically a suicide mission.

Almost as though to respond to this, the portal behind the elders opened up and Elder Stav could only hide his reaction of shock.

Out from within it, not just three, but seven youths stepped out.

Elder Stav, Moor, and the Varath Founding Ancestor could only shake their heads inwardly and sigh.

”No youths? Who said this?” Elder Stav grinned.

”Hohoho…” Elder Veraleʼs eyes narrowed just the slightest bit.

Malikhi led the group with a calm expression, but every one of their seven Clans was represented with the strongest of their youths.

The fierce red-skinned, warrior race Rizen.

The blue-skinned and quite elf-like Riverdon.

The long, drooping ears of the Luborn.

The multi-limbed Varath.

The bioluminescent Solenne.

And stone-skinned Drevak.

Every one of them had sent the strongest C-tier they had.

Founding Ancestor Varath looked over toward Malikhi. He was sure that he was the one that had greenlit this. It seemed that the Analei werenʼt going to simply bow down and let everything happen to them.

But all three elders misunderstood the real reason Malikhi was doing this.

Malikhi knew that Sylas was here, unlike most everyone else.

He knew that they needed to lay eyes on the man for themselves.

”… In that case, you wonʼt mind a little spar while we wait, no?” Elder Verale continued with her patented smile.

Elder Stav opened his mouth to reply, but it was actually a certain red-skinned youth that spoke instead.

”I want her.” He pointed, his red skin blazing to a deeper shade.

Elder Verale showed the first flicker in her expression, a cold air radiating from her. Flirting with her, she didnʼt care.

Six was the one that responded, though, his imposing frame dwarfing the Rizen Clan genius.

”Do you think that Bel would ever waste her youth on trash like you? For those words alone I will cut your tongue out on Oneʼs behalf.”

The Riverdon youth by the Rizen chuckled, her elf-like ears fluttering along with her bell-like laughter.

”Idiot.” She said, grabbing the Rizenʼs arm with a playful smile on her face. ”This blockhead wouldnʼt know beauty if it slapped its tits in his face. He pointed her out because sheʼs wearing the lowest number and for no other reason. Donʼt flatter yourselves.”

The Rizen looked down at the Riverdon, and then down to her breasts that were clearly pressed flush against his arm.

”The tingling is distracting me.” He said with a straight face.

All seven of them with the exception of Malikhi and Beros, the Rizen, burst into a fit of laughter.

For some reason, seeing them like this made their elders relax just the slightest bit. It was especially pleasing to see the stone cold expression of the Seeing Eye Guild reacting in kind.

They had been enemies with the Seeing Eye Guild since even the elders here were children—other than the Varath Founding Ancestor himself. There was little that pleased them more than infuriating them.

Finally, the sneer on Sixʼs face deepened.

”If you think you can challenge Four just because you say so, youʼre not just a blockhead, youʼre a fool—”

”Thatʼs what blockhead means, idiot.” The Riverdon said with her own sneer.

”—If you want a chance at Four, defeat me first.” Six continued without a care.

Beros of the Rizen took a step forward, making a move to pull his arm free from Ouiala, but before he could, the world shook.

Space split and slivers of it shone like mirrors in front of them.

Elder Moorʼs gaze flickered and then his four arms began to move rapidly. The eyes on the palms of his hands shimmered, Runes being pulled down from the air around them until… SHUUU.

The Weaver Guild was given a perfect projection of what was happening within the Dungeon, one that they obviously shared with no one else.

But the other powerhouses were already making moves of their own.

The cracks in the Dungeon were allowing them a chance to see inside.

…

Sylas felt that it was, indeed, a mistake for the tortoise to do this. It had miscalculated.

It wouldnʼt take days for the dungeon to collapse, it would take hours at most, and that was only because Sylas didnʼt want it to be any faster.

Runes bloomed around Sylas.

Demi-God Runes.
