Genetic Ascension

Chapter 1568 Create [2000 GT Bonus]

But, by the same token, it made one also question-if they could make such a perfect face, why did they insist on making a body that was so grotesque in practically every other way?

It didnʼt take a genius to understand why she was reacting like this, though. Without the portal to the Demon World, her ability to obscure the sight of the system would be heavily compromised.

She couldnʼt understand how Sylas could do something like this.

What he was doing was no different than if, during the Summoning, he had been able to casually close portals to the Aether Plane on a whim.

All he had done was observe it for a short time. Then it was gone.

Not only did he sever her connection to the Demon World, but he had also stopped the army swarming out from growing any larger.

The hairs that covered her breasts began to glow crimson as they reacted to the beating of her heart.

”You...”

”Put it back the way it was,” Cassarae suddenly said. ”Sheʼs even uglier like this. My appetite is completely ruined.”

”If things continue like this, sheʼll end up dead pretty soon, so you wonʼt have to worry about that.”

”Oh my, is this you flirting with me? Can I just sic you on my enemies now, hubby?”

The way she said hubby almost made Sylasʼ lip twitch. That was because there was only one person who called him hubby, and there was only one person with that sort of inflection.

Nyssa.

Clearly, Cassarae was mocking him. However, Sylas knew Cassarae all too well.

”Itʼs only been a day,” he said.

”Whatʼs that supposed to mean!”

Cassarae knew exactly what he meant, but she would rather be buried six feet deep than admit it.

”You can have what you want after we finish here.”

Cassarae cleared her throat. ”I have no idea what youʼre talking about.”

Sylas only patted her ass lightly in response. Then he felt it was rather comfortable, so he left his hand there.

By this point, anyone would have completely lost their cool-least of all someone whose life was on a ticking timer.

The madness of the Professors and their experiments made it seem like they were fearless of death. But the reality was that they were probably the group of people who feared death the most in the entire universe.

They were willing to go so far, pushing their bodies to the limits, precisely because they wanted to extend their existences into forever.

But until now... the first Professor had died at the hands of his own schemes, and this second one seemed to be on the same trajectory.

It was almost amusing the way it always ended the same.

Moose still couldnʼt understand what was happening. His head was buried so far into the earth by this point that even his ears were blurred to sound. But he couldnʼt, for the life of him, understand why a battle hadnʼt broken out yet or why the woman had stopped talking.

”What do you want?”

The sultry voice of the woman finally spoke again, and the words left Moose so stunned he stopped moving entirely, his body ironically relaxing for the first time since Sylas appeared.

Sylas looked over toward her again, raising an eyebrow.

That easy? He hadnʼt expected this woman to be so cowardly.

And then he understood.

This person, the people of their ilk...

All they cared about was saving themselves.

They had no cohesion, no sense of pride, no sense of self. It was why they swapped their body parts like they were little more than machines-slaves to what they hoped would be evolution, but which was instead a grotesque manifestation of weakness.

If there ever was a Sin of Greed, it would be this.

”You want to survive?” Sylas asked.

”Yes.”

”Itʼs simple, really. Tell me everything you know, enslave yourself to me, and I will allow it.”

”Okay.”

The woman didnʼt hesitate for a moment. Sylas saw the Slave Contract form right before his eyes.

He could guess what she was thinking. A Contract, even through the system, required the superior party to have superior Will. Sylas didnʼt know what strength this woman held, but she certainly was no F-tier or E-tier. She probably wasnʼt a D-tier either.

If Sylas was correct, she was at worst a C-tier and very likely even stronger than that.

She wasnʼt the sort of enemy he could even fathom battling right now.

It was just that that didnʼt matter at all.

Sylasʼ True Pride Seed pulsed with life, veins of gold racing across his body. It looked like he was quickly becoming a deity.

Then he accepted.

The womanʼs body shook from head to toe, a flash of emerald-gold lining her eyes.

Once again, she was completely shaken.

How could an F-tier form such a strong suppression on her Will?

”First, tell me what parameters your people have to weather traitors.”

The woman was taken aback again. This Sylas...

”I do not know the whole plan. I am just a pawn.”

Sylas didnʼt seem surprised by this. Instead, he waved a hand, and Moose shot up from the ground, the latterʼs neck landing in the palm of his hand.

As strong as he was, Moose couldnʼt even budge a single inch.

”What was your task?” Sylas asked the woman.

”Create Demonic Envoys, land on Earth, open up Gates to the outside.”

Sylasʼ eyes flashed. He came to an immediate conclusion.

Demon World Portals were a shortcut to a foothold in a system territory you werenʼt allowed to enter. But something was wrong with this conclusion.

ʼIs it really easier to find a path into the Demon World and then come here in such a roundabout way?ʼ

Sylasʼ brow furrowed. He felt like he was missing something.

Then he looked at Moose.

ʼCreate Demonic Envoys...ʼ

That was when it clicked.

They didnʼt have to go into the Demon World first. The Demonic Envoys were their path to the Demon World.

Sylasʼ pupils suddenly constricted into pinholes, his Will flaring like a solar flare off an emerald giant.

ʼRotten Creatures... Mooseʼs learning disability... the Purvon... The Beast Warlord Sanctum...ʼ

It all led back to a single word.

Will.

An itch Sylas hadnʼt been able to reach finally vanished.

He knew what was happening now. The chessboard was as clear as day, and the shadowy figure once so foreign and unapproachable to him-that mysterious person of the Purvon Clan-had exposed their tail.

Aki-he was a necromancer of sorts, controlling Rotten beasts with zero Will, an oddity Sylas still didnʼt understand.

Moose was thought to be a fool before the Summoning because his intelligence was too great for his body to sustain.

Somehow, Aki had had a Tiger Warlord Armor. At least that was what Sylas had thought, but he forgot something...

Akiʼs Tiger Warlord Armor was white.

It shouldnʼt have been.

One piece after another clicked into place.
