Genetic Ascension

Chapter 927  System Rewards (2)

—

[Learn Location of Genesis Forge?]

[Yes] [No]

—

Sylasʼ eyes narrowed. He didnʼt make a decision immediately, staring at the screen for a while.

Right now, he had two of its three pieces in his possession already. He didnʼt expect to have a chance at finding the final piece so quickly. But this would certainly be a big deal.

That said, if what he thought about its current location was true, then it was likely also true that he would be running into something quite… substantial.

Sylas had no idea what sort of rampage the system had gone on just now, so he wasnʼt entirely sure how Earthʼs situation had changed in the first place. As far as he was concerned, this was still quite the risk.

Even so, that didnʼt stop him from clicking [Yes].

A ripple shuddered in the depths of his mind, and as though a blinker had been activated, he could subconsciously feel the direction of the Genesis Forge.

ʼHm?ʼ

Sylas noticed a change to his system. He looked toward the corner and found himself pleasantly surprised. The last time he had seen such a thing was after he was lucky enough to get a Map Treasure.

At the corner of his system, a round map had appeared, pinging him toward the location he had to go.

ʼThe odds that that is where Legacyʼs hideout is… very high…ʼ

There was a chance that he was incorrect. But honestly speaking, it was quite rare for him to be wrong. And even if he was in this case…

Did it matter? The outcome would be much the same.

[System Reward Activated]

—

Sylas frowned, feeling something affecting his Will. He really didnʼt like rewards like this one. Artificial boosts to his Will just felt ridiculous, and he didnʼt want them at all.

But after a split moment, he felt that this one was somewhat different. Rather than trying to artificially increase his Will, it was almost… nurturing it?

There was definitely a tangible form of Will, or else it wouldnʼt be part of the layers of the body. As stubborn as Sylas was, he knew that he would be foolish to believe that there was absolutely no method of tangibly increasing it.

Technically speaking, the Arcane Telekinesis method was an outside method. Just because he was personally practicing it didnʼt mean that it didnʼt count as an external influence on his Will.

Then there was his Race upgrade or change… technically, the mutation to his Race was also an external matter, but it was because of this that his will had mutated to be capable of influencing the world to such a great degree.

While his Will upgrade was left up to him, even before he reached Shaped Will, he had become able to exert tens of thousands of pounds of force.

There were definitely some odd differences going on here.

The foundation of his Will… that seemed to be all internal. But there were branching influences, outer fringes, or abilities that could be influenced by external matters.

Those… Sylas was just fine with.

[Progenitor Flame Abilities Upgraded]

—

[Temporal Delay (???) (Progenitor Flame Ability)]

[Warp your perception of time, seeing through the lags and changes in the Mesh of Reality as it changes around you]

—

[Astral Stutter (???) (Progenitor Flame Ability)]

[Feel the warps and changes to Runes and their interaction with the Mesh of Reality. Feel what they have been and what they might become]

—

Sylas didnʼt see a change. These Progenitor Flame Abilities seemed to be just the same as they always were. The question marks he also didnʼt mind. He had been telling himself to get a better Scouting Skill for a while, but at this point, he never had.

It wasnʼt because he was foolish, but rather because he had never come across one that was good enough. All the ones he saw that he could exchange money for wouldnʼt make much of a difference. The level he was working on wasnʼt something that most of the Nexus on Earth could even begin to keep up with.

But then Sylas suddenly felt full on the inside.

Something burst, but it didnʼt hurt for some odd reason.

Then he felt full again even faster than before.

The process continued, a sweep of changes he didnʼt understand happening to him. He didnʼt even quite understand it. It was almost like it was a trick of the mind rather than anything real or tangible.

And then…

BANG!

It was hard to explain the sound. If he had to, it would almost be like the anchor of an enormous cargo ship had given way, snapping and releasing such a large amount of force that it kicked up waves and almost split the boat it was supposed to protect in half.

There was a cry and win in Sylasʼ body and then…

—

[Title Upgraded] [A Shaped Will > A Forging Will] [Your Will is truly one of a kind and has begun to not just forge its own Path, but it has also taken a True Shape, interacting with the world and finding a new way. While immature and still growing, it has carved out its place. Continue to temper it, young man] [+200 Will] [+200% Will]

[+500 Charisma] [+500% Charisma]

—

Sylas frowned. This wasnʼt what he wanted. Why was the foundation of his Will changing? Could he go back?

However, while he was feeling this, Sylas realized that the uncomfortable feeling that the Glass Pinecone had given him wasnʼt here. Was it because this method was far higher level than he could fathom? Or was it because he was overthinking this being a bad thing?

And then he suddenly felt it.

ʼHm?ʼ

Sylas blinked, finally understanding.

The system hadnʼt artificially increased his Will… it had just erased a certain influence that had once been there before…

The artificial suppression of Will on Earth had been erased from his body. And because of that, as his Progenitor Flame Abilities skyrocketed in strength, his Will reached the level it had already meant to be at.
