[3. Sylas Grimblade | Lv. 0 | (Simioid Human)]

—

A Human in the top ten… such a thing had never happened before in the history of the Skai Galaxy.

No one seemed to pay attention to the prefixes added before Sylasʼ name. The Human Race was among the most common across the universe, and it was more rare for them not to have prefixes and suffixes than for them to.

The fact that Sylas had been able to make it to 13th without such a prefix was shocking enough, but to make it to third with an unknown and seemingly unimportant prefix… just what did this mean?

The worst part was that from the perspective of those off Earth, it hadnʼt even been more than a few hours since Sylas appeared on the list first.

No, it wasnʼt even an hour.

How could a person jump from nowhere, to 13th, all the way up to 3rd place, in what seemed like a few minutes at best?

Was he experiencing some sort of trial? Was he currently undergoing metamorphosis right this instant? Could it be that he was still improving? Would he jump to first place before things ended?

What would this mean for the rest of the Galaxy?

In the time since Sylasʼ name first appeared, there had been countless investigations made about him. Those that werenʼt aware that he had already been on the Breath Master List certainly became aware now.

To have such talent, and to also be a Breath Master, just what did this represent?

…

Ulrik sat in his office in silence, watching the ticking timer go down slowly. He had already prepared everything that he could. No, he had been preparing for years already.

There was nothing to do but sit and wait now. But, he also realized that he was stuck in an odd time warp. Because of this…

No one had the opportunity to contact him, and he had no idea that Sylas had jumped from 13th to 3rd place.

It wasnʼt just him that was unaware, but all the other participants as well.

…

Lorien sat in her time warp, her expression peaceful. She seemed to have undergone a huge change.

Her scant clothing and seductive demeanor were nowhere to be seen.

Her hair floated down to the small of her back, a pink and violet fog hanging around her.

There was a reason she had gone out of her way to expose herself for the sake of this treasure…

Just how many sacrifices had she made? How many of the Mist Race had died in just the last day because of her?

ʼIt will all be worth it.ʼ

There was no life worth living when you were under the thumb of another. It was either she broke through and reached that stage, or she would be buried here.

And she had no intention of being buried.

Her body calmly relaxed.

ʼSoon, I will trigger it… once I am within the War Battlefield, they wonʼt be able to do anything to me. And by the time I come out, The Golden Grove will know my name.ʼ

Her Will solidified around her, showing faint signs of shattering the Shaping Will barrier.

Cassarae rolled over in bed, gasping for breath.

”Let me… take a… break… dammit…”

This wasnʼt supposed to happen, actually. Sylas was supposed to work very hard for it.

But then he showed up looking like a man straight out of the wild and Cassarae forgot about everything else. In her defense, her ovaries had minds of their own and the decision was made without her authority.

Still, she insisted that it was Sylas that jumped onto her, not the other way around.

She had only just come out of scrubbing herself clean, and now she was all dirty again. Why was she always being covered by everyoneʼs fluids? First blood, now this.

However, she didnʼt get her wish as her waist was swept up again.

…

Hours later, Sylas finally let Cassarae go. His instinct to procreate, especially after this recent evolution, was particularly difficult to manage. It felt like there was a literal flame in his lower body.

He exhaled a steamy breath. Despite it not being very cold at all, it formed a fog in the air. It just went to show just how hot his body was right now.

Cassarae curled up in a small little ball behind him as he sat on the edge of the bed, her arm wrapped around his waist.

After a while, Sylas stood, picking Cassarae up as well.

”Come. We have to make you stronger.”

Cassarae mumbled something in return, but it wasnʼt quite audible. Soon, they had entered a shower room.

Sylas stood high in the air, his arms crossed as he watched Cassarae unleash unholy hell on the Coalition House.

It was a wide building, built behind sprawling, well-trimmed grass. It could be said it was one of the most important government buildings in the world, and obviously among the most well-protected.

If there were hidden trump cards, they would certainly be here. E-Grade Ancestors, Metarock-level resources, maybe even deals with the devil, who knew.

And yet, Sylas had come here with just two people.

Himself and Cassarae.

As far as he was concerned, that was all he needed. Some time in the future, he was certain that that was all he would ever need.

Cassaraeʼs enormous sword swung out continuously, bodies littering the once pristine grass. From time to time, Sylasʼ finger would shift and someone would stumble right before they even had a chance to put her in danger.

Wasnʼt Cassaraeʼs Silver Leg eliminating Terranova? In that case, he would just help her do it.
