Chapter 2609: Rejected by the Cudgel

The Corrupted Huanglong remembered everything it planned up to this moment as it went to touch the Heavenly Cudgel. The Corrupted Huanglong wanted this divine weapon as it is something that the Tathagata gave the Divine Beast Sun Wukong. It is a real divine tier artifact that could elevate the power of a High God in order to compete with a Primordial Divine Beast like the Huanglong.

”You used this cudgel to seal me, and I will admit that I was defeated that time. In the end, I am the winner because you have died and perished from the reincarnation cycle while I am unsealed and alive. I shall use the weapon that you used to protect the eastern continent to conquer it and make it a land that only worships me.” The Corrupted Huanglong stated as it reached out to the large heavenly cudgel that is still planted on the ground.

As soon as the Corrupted Huanglong touched the Heavenly Cudgel, a powerful spark erupted from the interaction. A cleansing divine force sent the Corrupted Huanglong flying backwards as the Heavenly Cudgel actually protected itself from being handled by the Yellow Emperor. The Corrupted Huanglong could not believe that a mere tool is rejecting its majesty because it believes that everything in the eastern continent should be under its ownership.

”You dare reject me!” The Corrupted Huanglong shouted as its fury manifested in dark storm clouds.

The Corrupted Huanglong then lifted its hand and empowered the storm cloud to create black lightning filled with miasma. The Heavenly Cudgel got blasted with pure miasmic lightning that could destroy divine artifacts, but it also showed how powerful the weapon still is. Despite being blasted with continuous miasmic lightning, the Heavenly Cudgel actually shrunk itself back to three meters as it laid planted on the ground.

”In the end, even you shall submit to me!” The Corrupted Huanglong stated as it reached out for the Heavenly Cudgel once more.

The Corrupted Huanglong thought that the Heavenly Cudgel actually became weak and submitted to it, but the latter repelled the former once more. Unlike before when it was just a warning, the divine spark that the Heavenly Cudgel released actually burned the hand of the Corrupted Huanglong. The Corrupted Huanglong actually felt real pain, but it did not scream since fury has rapidly overtaken its body.

”If I cannot make you submit then you shall be destroyed!” The Corrupted Huanglong shouted as it gathered mana from the area and converted it directly into miasma.

The sky rumbled as the dark clouds above turned pitch black. The Corrupted Huanglong pointed at the Heavenly Cudgel as if it was determining a target for execution. As soon as the Corrupted Huanglong’s will was set, the sky exploded into a powerful miasmic lightning that created a shockwave that destroyed everything in the area.

The miasmic lightning directly hit the Heavenly Cudgel and could be seen starting to lose its golden sheen. Out of sheer desperation of the divine artifact, the Heavenly Cudgel actually absorbed some of the power of the ley lines and activate the divine barrier attached to it as a skill. A golden yin and yang barrier exploded from the Heavenly Cudgel and repelled the miasmic lightning that the Corrupted Huanglong casted.

The miasmic lightning finally stopped but the Heavenly Cudgel could be seen only slightly deteriorated as it protected itself. As if the Heavenly Cudgel has a vendetta, it suddenly made the golden yin and yang barrier glow and released the absorbed damage into a piercing beam. This piercing beam headed towards the Corrupted Huanglong.

”Do you think that I will be harmed by an attack of a mere tool!” The Corrupted Huanglong shouted as it created a barrier made of miasma around it that took the form of miasmic lightning.

The piercing beam directly hit the barrier of the Corrupted Huanglong. The barrier created by the Corrupted Huanglong was strong, but the beam carried the power of the miasmic lightning attack earlier. The Corrupted Huanglong never thought that its own power would be used against it as the barrier shattered. The Corrupted Huanglong had to conjure up another barrier immediately using its right hand but even that was not enough for the piercing beam to dissipate.

In the end, the Corrupted Huanglong was injured by the tool that it has mocked. Acidic blood could be seen dripping down the injured arm of the Corrupted Huanglong. The Corrupted Huanglong could not stand this mockery, but it has to admit that its strength has yet to stabilize. It might have the power of a High God, but it has yet to fully incorporate all of it. The best that the Corrupted Huanglong could use is the strength of a Greater God.

”I will melt you myself!” The Corrupted Huanglong stated as it was supposed to transform into its larger form to truly destroy the divine artifact, but it sensed numerous life signals approaching its way.

The Corrupted Huanglong sensed thousands of Immortals coming its way and knew that it cannot contend with them now. Even if the Corrupted Huanglong wanted to destroy the Heavenly Cudgel, it must leave it alone for now. The Corrupted Huanglong knew that the Heavenly Cudgel would not be taken elsewhere, and it could just return to this location to destroy it.

”Consider yourself lucky for now. Once I have stabilized this body, I shall personally destroy you myself.” The Corrupted Huanglong stated as it proceeded to turn into miasmic fog and slip away.

A few seconds later, numerous Immortals did arrive at the location. These were members of the Murim Alliance as they were sent to investigate what happened to the Emei Sect. Some of the Emei Sect members that escaped sent a letter to the Murim Alliance that the Grand Overseer was wreaking havoc upon the entire sect. The sect members that sent these were the ones that are out of the loop of what was truly happening inside the Emei Sect.
