Chapter 1478: Ancient Abyssal Permit (1)

After revealing the shocking information, Lucy let the words hang in the charged silence.

”Most of the esteemed guests might’ve already heard about the Whispering Soul Grotto and the importance of the Ancient Abyssal Permit. But for those who haven’t heard about this mysterious realm, I’ll give you all a general introduction.

”The Whispering Soul Grotto is a secret ancient realm famed across our Abyss of Wandering Souls. This ancient realm is rumored to be a battlefield between the ancient Abyssal Entities, and even Abyssal Kings have perished there!

”Furthermore, the most crucial fact about the Whispering Soul Grotto is that within this ancient realm, Abyssal Qi Springs are the norm, while the true opportunities lie within many Ancient Inheritances left behind by experts, and countless gone real treasures!

”Every time the realm opens, the entire Abyss of Wandering Souls vies for it. However, entering it is a challenging task, and many experts have perished without gaining a glimpse of the ancient battlefield.

”However, with the Ancient Abyssal Permit, there is no reason to worry about safety before entering the Whispering Soul Grotto, meaning whoever has this permit will be granted a safe passage into the Whispering Soul Grotto!

”These permits always mysteriously appeared throughout the lands of the Abyss of the Wandering Souls whenever the Whispering Soul Grotto is about to open, and the last time the ancient realm opened was 9,994 Years ago!

”Which means, in a mere six years, the Whispering Soul Grotto will show itself again before vanishing again for another ten millennia.

”That’s why it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to seek the fortune of the ancient Abyssal Kings!”

The moment Lucy’s hypnotic voice trailed off, the entire venue burst into hushed murmurs while eyes widened in every corner. Even the calmest VIPs leaned forward as desire burned behind calm facades.

Just as Lucy had expected, not all the Abyssal Beings in this auction knew about the Whispering Soul Grotto, and the moment she revealed its secret and importance, everyone became fascinated.

After all, ten thousand years were very long, and some of the abyssal beings present didn’t even live for that long. This information should also be hidden among the top organizations and powers.

Furthermore, the importance of that permit was even more astounding, yet today someone was foolish enough to auction it in such a manner instead of using it themselves.

No one could understand the true intentions of the owner, but one thing was clear: since the Obsidian Spirit Hall was the one who was auctioning it, there was no chance of a scam.

Some representatives quickly started to inform their superiors about the appearance of the Ancient Abyssal Permit, as they all knew even the Abyssal Dukes would want this permit, and Abyssal Kings might get involved!

If those kinds of existences got involved, it would never be their turn to grab this amazing opportunity, not to mention this place was the Obsidian Myriad Kingdom’s capital, where the Dread Duchess rules.

Ace was also shocked when he heard the truth behind the Ancient Abyssal Permit, and couldn’t help but glance at the Vaultkeeper beside him. He finally realized the importance of that permit.

He subtly probed, ”Sir Vaultkeeper, do you think the Duchess would also want that permit? And about what that Succubus just said, is it true?”

Vaultkeeper finally realized that he had lost his composure, and glanced at Ace, and after thinking for a moment, he nodded, ”I won’t hide it from Lord Nomad. What she revealed is the truth, not only that, but there were some other points that she didn’t mention and only known about entities like her highness Dread Duchess.

”As for whether the Dread Duchess covets that permit, it’s only natural that she would also want it since even Abyssal Kings would enter the Whispering Soul Grotto once it opened!”

Ace’s heart sank upon confirming his suspicion because he knew if even Abyssal Kings had entered that secret ancient realm, then it was almost impossible to keep that permit.

At that moment, as if guessing Ace’s internal struggle, the Vaultkeeper ambiguously stated, ”But if it’s Lord Nomad who acquired it, I don’t think the Duchess would take it from you. However, nothing is certain. Nonetheless, since it was Lord Nomad’s fate that brought you here today, you should acquire the permit first.”

Ace could only smile wryly and nod as he really wasn’t expecting to stumble upon something like this by simply taking a stroll. Furthermore, just as the Vaultkeeper said, since he was the benefactor of the Dread Duchess, she might not take it from him. Not only does he still have his ’master’ as a protective talisman!

At this moment, Lucy announced, ”Since everyone is now aware of the importance of the Ancient Abyssal Permit, let’s start the bidding!

”However, the owner of the Ancient Abyssal Permit didn’t want Abyss Gems, but to exchange it with...the Quasi-Abyssal Grade-8 Ebon Vein Nectar directly brewed by her highness Dread Duchess!”

The moment Lucy revealed the ’price’ for the Ancient Abyssal Permit, the hall fell into deadly silence, and many abyssal beings’ expressions went pale.

Everyone knew that the Ebon Vein Nectar was the most precious item of the entire Obsidian Myriad King because the Dread Duchess personally brewed it, and its grade was shockingly a step away from being Abyssal Grade-8.

Although there were other dilated versions of it, compared to the real Ebon Vein Nectar, they can’t hold a candle to it.

Yet, no matter what kind of price other offers, even Abyssal Dukes couldn’t get it as the Dread Duchess won’t sell it easily.

At that moment, everyone suddenly realized why the owner of the permit decided to auction the Ancient Abyssal Permit in today’s auction.

The owner’s real target has always been the Dread Duchess herself, and all their hopes of acquiring the Ancient Abyssal Permit vanished!

However, there was one exception...Ace, who had been sitting within Room 1, suddenly had a stunned yet peculiar expression on her face!
