Chapter 1837: Accept Her Invitation

Quan Hou Chi was once again surprised when her mother, Bai Gu Wen called her again. This time, Bai Gu Wen called her to invite Quan Hou Chi to have dinner together.

At first, Quan Hou Chi rejected the invitation. She used a lot of excuses not to attend the dinner. Busy, had a lot of work, did not have time, and tired...

However, Bai Gu Wen seemed not tired of inviting her daughter to have dinner together. Quan Hou Chi could not help to ask her father for some advice. They talked during the dinner.

”Dad, she is pestering me to have dinner together with her.” Quan Hou Chi complained to her father about her mother.

”What does she want?” Quan De Bei asked.

”I donʼt know. She just asked me out for dinner together.” Quan Hou Chi sighed. If her mother called her during her break or night, she would not be so complaining about this. But her mother usually called her during her work time. If she did not answer the call, her mother would spam calling her. It disturbed her work. She wanted to switch off her phone but she could not do that. Her work also used the line to call or message her about the work. As for blocking her motherʼs number, she already had done it before. Well, it only lasted for 2 hours before her mother used the new number to call her. Her colleague even asked her about the continuous phone call. They were curious why her phone kept receiving the phone from someone.

Quan Hou Chi explained a little about her mother. Her colleague seemed to understand and did not ask her any more about that. But she still did not feel uncomfortable about that. ”You can just accept the invitation. Go and meet her. Ask her what she wants from you. It will be much easier. If you donʼt want to follow her wish, just reject her bluntly.” Quan De Bei said. Hearing her fatherʼs advice, Quan Hou Chi also thought that was a good idea. ”Hmm... If she calls me tomorrow, I will agree with her invitation.” Quan Hou Chi stated. ”Hmm... Just be careful.” Quan De Bei said.

As Quan Hou Chi expected, Bai Gu Wen called her again during work hours. She answered it right away.

”What do you want this time?” Quan Hou Chi asked.

”Oh... it is rare that you answer right after I call you.” Bai Gu Wen said.

”Stop this care and tell me what you want. I am busy you know. Unlike you just have a lot of time doing nothing.” Quan Hou Chi said.

”You...” Bai Gu Wen was kind of speechless right now after being ridiculed by her daughter.

”So, what do you want?” Quan Hou Chi said, forcing Bai Gu Wen to state her purpose of calling her right now.

”Well, I want to have dinner with my daughter. I have not met you for such a long time.” Bai Gu Wen began her act.

Quan Hou Chi felt shivering behind her back when she heard her mother talking like that. ”Sure... I agree. When do you want to have dinner with me?” Quan Hou Chi agreed right now.

Bai Gu Wen was surprised when her daughter agreed to her invitation. Usually, her daughter would reject her invitation.

”You agree to have dinner with me?” Bai Gu Wen could not have to ask her daughter one more time for confirmation. ”Of course, I agree. Recently, you have been called me for dinner. It is getting annoying. So, I think why not just agree on your invitation at once.” Quan Hou Chi said.

She strongly expressed her dislike toward Bai Gu Wen. ”So, when are we going to have dinner together, then?” Quan Hou Chi asked. ”Oh... I will call you later about the time.” Bai Gu Wen stated. ”Just message me the time and place. No need to call me about that.” Quan Hou Chi said.

”Okay... okay... I will message you later.” Bai Gu Wen said

She was happy to achieve her aim to invite Quan Hou Chi. She would tolerate Quan Hou Chiʼs rudeness for now. After ending the call, Quan Hou Chi sighed. At least, she would not receive annoying calls from her mother for the time being. ”Another call?” Her colleague, Song Ruolan asked after seeing Quan Hou Chi massage her nose bridge. ”Hmm...” Quan Hou Chi nodded.

”Who is that person?” Song Roulan asked, curious about that person.

”It is my mother.” Quan Hou Chi said. ”Your mother? That is a surprise. So, you donʼt get along well with your mother.” Song Roulan nodded several times.

”Yeah. I am closer to my father.” Quan Hou Chi said.

”I just want to ask, no offense. Are your mother and father divorced?” Song Roulan asked.

”Yeah.” Quan Hou Chi nodded.

If this question had been asked by other people to the younger Quon Hou Chi, she might have been sad. Now, Quan Hou Chi did not think it was that bad. A lot of people divorced this. Even a married couple who had been married for years could not divorce. Well, not everyone, of course.

”I see... My parent also divorced. It was when I was in middle high school. After the divorce, I stayed with my dad too.” Song Roulan opened her story. Quon Hou Chi was surprised. She did not know that her colleague was the same as her.
