Starting as a Blind Beggar and Becoming a God

Chapter 135: Return of the HorseChapter 135: Return of the Horse
Chen Huaian smiled. It didn’t matter whether he was open-minded or not. That was just his nature. He did whatever he wanted to do.

”My boy is called Ma Gui. He is a simple and honest man. You will definitely get along well with him when you meet him.”

”Ma Gui?” Chen Huaian said this name in his mind. He always felt something was strange, but he couldn’t put his finger on it.

”We’re here.” Granny Rong pointed at a young man who was feeding chickens in the yard. ”He’s Ma Gui, my child. What do you think? Doesn’t he look simple and honest?”

”No, Granny Rong, Brother Ma is just an honest person, not stupid.”

Chen Huaian replied, and this remark hit the nail on the head for Granny Rong, ”He’s good in every way, but he’s just too honest, and he always suffers losses when doing things.”

”Mom, suffering is a blessing. If I suffer more, your blessings will come.”

”You kid, you were born with this mouth, and you can even say something bad is good.”

Ma Gui scratched his head and smiled innocently. He looked at Chen Huaian and asked Granny Rong, ”Who is this?”

Before Chen Huaian could say anything, Granny Rong introduced him, ”His name is Chen Huaian, and he’s a nice young man. You two should get along well. I’m going to my room to fold paper.”

When Ma Gui heard Chen Huaian’s name, he was obviously stunned for a moment, but he quickly concealed this expression, as if it had never appeared. Perhaps because he concealed it too quickly, Chen Huaian did not notice his abnormality.

”Mom, you’ve folded so many paper birds, it’s time to take a break.”

”No, that won’t work. None of them look good. I want to fold it the way I want it to be.”

”Mom, what do you think I look like?” Ma Gui asked.

After hearing this, Granny Rong just shook her head and said, ”I can’t describe it because I almost forgot what it looked like, so I’m recalling it while I’m folding it.”

After Grandma Rong finished speaking, she went back into the house without waiting for Ma Gui to speak.

Ma Gui stretched out a hand, and Chen Huaian watched from behind with a frown on his face.

Ma Gui turned around and smiled at Chen Huaian innocently. He said, ”I’m sorry, Brother Chen, my mother is like this. She used to love origami, but she hasn’t done it for a long time. Recently, I don’t know why she started to do it again. This is her only hobby, and I can’t stop her.”

”It’s OK. Granny Rong can still find something to do, which means she is in good health and can live a long life.”

Ma Gui shook his head after hearing this. ”Mother’s health is getting worse day by day. I have tried many methods and consulted many doctors, but nothing has worked. And she likes to fold paper recently. Most of the money I earn is spent on buying paper.”

”I’m not complaining about anything. I just want her to be happy. But it’s not good for her to keep folding paper without caring about her health. I often see her folding until midnight. I feel bad for her health.”

After Ma Gui finished speaking, he sighed heavily.

Chen Huaian walked over and patted him on the shoulder. When Chen Huaian patted him, his expression suddenly became solemn.

However, he quickly concealed this emotion, but he said calmly: ”This is the only hobby she has. As children, we should support her no matter what, right? But we should also persuade her to rest more.”

”Hey, mom doesn’t listen.”

”I have a tranquilizer here that can help you sleep. Go get it. I guarantee that Granny Rong will fall asleep early tonight and sleep soundly.”

”Really!?” Ma Gui asked happily.

”Truer than gold.”

”Then write quickly, I’ll go get it right away.” Ma Gui said excitedly, and then went to get paper and pen.

Chen Huaian quickly wrote down a few medicinal herbs on the paper. Ma Gui looked at the herbs on it, then looked at Chen Huaian. He read it back and forth several times.

Seeing this, Chen Huaian asked, ”What’s wrong? Is there something wrong with this prescription?”

”No.”

”What’s wrong?” Chen Huaian asked in confusion. ”Brother Chen, are you really a blind man?” Ma Gui’s tone was a little surprised and puzzled.

”I studied for a few years and learned medicine. I was not blind at that time. It was only after an accident that I became blind.” Chen Huaian lied with ease.

He didn’t want to deceive Ma Gui, but he was used to wearing the black cloth, and he was a little uncomfortable taking it off all of a sudden, so he simply made up a lie.

”That’s it...”

”I’m sorry, Brother Chen, for reminding you of sad things.” Ma Gui said guiltily.

”It doesn’t matter. These things have long passed. I don’t care about them anymore. We can’t always stay in the past.” Chen Huaian said with a smile.

”Hahaha, Brother Chen is really an open-minded person. If I were you, I would definitely find it difficult to get out of this situation.”

Chen Huaian smiled but said nothing.

”I’m going to go get some medicine for my mother. You stay at home and wait for me to come back and cook.”

Ma Gui was about to leave, but was stopped by Chen Huaian, who said, ”I’m going to find a way to make money, so I can go out for a while.”

”Ah!? You can’t even see. Forget it. I can support you.” Ma Gui said. He didn’t agree with Chen Huaian going out.

”It’s okay, I’ll find something to do within my ability, it’ll be fine.”

Ma Gui saw Chen Huaian’s expression and was very determined. Seeing this, he stopped trying to stop him and said, ”Then you better be careful and don’t let anything happen.”

”it is good.”

Afterwards, Ma Gui went to get medicine, and Chen Huaian went to find a livelihood. He said that he was going to make a living, but he was not allowed to follow Ma Gui. He could perform and there was no need to find a livelihood. The reason why he followed Ma Gui was because he found that Ma Gui’s life essence was almost gone.

In other words, he was dying.

At this moment, Ma Gui was happily walking on the way to get medicine. He didn’t know that Chen Huaian was following behind him. His face was full of smiles, and he seemed particularly happy that Grandma Rong could have a good sleep.

Logically speaking, the prescription written by someone you have just met is not trustworthy, but he has a feeling that it is a feeling that is exclusive to ”him”, and Chen Huaian is trustworthy.

Chen Huaian had been following Ma Gui. He thought Ma Gui would go back after getting the medicine, but he didn’t expect that Ma Gui would turn at a corner and then enter a place called Baibaotang.

”Why is he here?” Chen Huaian was puzzled. Ma Gui didn’t have anything worth pawning, so there was no point for him to come to Baibaotang.

Chen Huaian was puzzled. He leaped forward, added a concealment formation to himself, and entered the Treasure Hall.

Chen Huaian was walking in Baibao Hall, looking for Ma Gui. After a while, Chen Huaian found Ma Gui, who was talking to a man in purple.

“You can’t sing it many times,” said the man in purple.

”Boss Qiu Yu, I know, but I just want my mother to be healthy and live a good life.”

”I can give you a pill to calm your soul and let the old lady live longer, but aging, sickness and death are the common sense of all things. You have to learn to accept it.” Qiu Yu said earnestly.

”I know, but the happy smile on my mother’s face is more important than anything else.”

Qiu Yu sighed and said, ”I understand. Take this pill. You don’t have to sing this time.” As he spoke, he handed Ma Gui a pill.

”How can this be possible? If you take something from someone, you must return it with kindness.”

”Hey, I knew it. Actually, you really... don’t need to.” After Qiu Yu finished speaking, Ma Gui began to sing. His voice was ethereal, and people who listened to it felt that their souls were cleansed, as if their souls had become extremely pure and clean.

When Chen Huaian heard Ma Gui’s singing, he knew why his life essence was almost exhausted, because he was the Soul-Purifying Bird!
