The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2400: Blutlinie Race

As Cain watched the warriors disappear into the distance, he knew with absolute certainty that this was not the end. They would return—and next time, they would come in greater numbers, with greater power.

”Even if I hadn’t attacked,” Cain reflected coldly, ”there was no way they would have simply let me exist.”

At least this way, he had captured some of them.

A flash of ruthless focus surged through Cain’s consciousness as his attention turned inward, toward the killers he had captured within the depths of the Ocean of the Blood Sun. For the first time since arriving in this strange universe, he finally had access to intelligent life forms—living sources of knowledge.

Without hesitation, Cain unleashed the power of his soul.

His vast spiritual presence expanded, and by invoking both the Power of Chaos and The Flow, his consciousness pierced directly into the minds and souls of the captured warriors. There was no resistance. Compared to Cain’s soul, theirs were fragile and exposed.

Most of the captives were Peak Prima Deities, though several had already reached the Arch-Deity rank. The amount of information contained within their memories was immense—far more than Cain had expected.

”Blutlinie Race.”

That was the first revelation.

Cain learned that the gargantuan, fiendish warriors who had attacked him belonged to a single race—and more shockingly, that they were the only intelligent race in this universe. Every being he had sensed within the distant cities, from hulking monsters covered in spikes and living armor to slender humanoids with white hair and a third crimson eye, all belonged to the same race.

Despite their extreme physical differences, they were all Blutlinie.

Yet the disparity between them was staggering.

Their bodily structures, latent potential, and combat power varied so wildly that in some cases it felt as if they belonged to entirely different species.

”According to their knowledge,” Cain continued to analyze, ”they all originated from a single ancestor—one who spread his blood throughout the universe. Those drops of blood gave birth to the first Blutlinie.”

A solemn expression formed across Cain’s consciousness as he contemplated that claim.

To give rise to an entire race capable of perpetuating itself and dominating a universe was astonishing—and deeply unsettling. No Third Realm life form should have been capable of such a feat.

”Either this is a myth woven into their culture,” Cain concluded, ”or the Blutlinie Ancestor surpassed the Third Realm entirely.”

The more Cain learned, the heavier the sense of danger became.

In the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe—and even in the Crimson World—an Alpha-Omega Overgod cultivation was enough to ensure survival, provided one was cautious. But here?

Here, that level of power was nowhere near sufficient.

Suppressing the urge to draw premature conclusions, Cain continued extracting knowledge from the warriors’ souls.

”The first generation possessed overwhelming fertility,” Cain learned, ”giving birth to countless offspring.”

However, with each generation, the purity of the bloodline weakened and varied drastically. This resulted in endless variations among the Blutlinie—some so weak they were reduced to slaves, others so powerful they nearly rivaled the first generation themselves.

Cain sharpened his focus.

A caste system existed—but not one based on origin, lineage, or appearance.

It was based purely on power.

The strong ruled. The weak were discarded.

Even those born into powerful families were not exempt. If their talent was insufficient, they were cast aside without hesitation.

”This status is not fixed,” Cain continued to learn. ”They can evolve their bodies and bloodlines through cultivation, as well as by consuming powerful treasures and resources.”

But there was a darker truth.

”There is nothing more nourishing,” the memories revealed, ”than the bodies of Blutlinie higher on the food chain.”

Cain recalled the carnage he had sensed within the city—the scenes of slaughter, the beings devouring one another without restraint. Now, it made sense.

”Even so,” Cain concluded, ”it is incredibly difficult to rise if one is born at the bottom. Those born with talent advance faster, with less effort. Breaking the status quo is nearly impossible.”

With that realization, Cain understood something critical.

The density and purity of the bloodline forming his new body would be vital to his future growth. It had to be as high as possible before his rebirth was complete.

Finishing his analysis of the ruling race, Cain turned his attention to the second—and perhaps most important—topic.

The nature of the universe itself.

When he extracted the name of this realm from their memories, Cain almost laughed.

”Paradise?”

The irony was absurd.

This universe was a hellscape of blood, carnage, and endless slaughter. If this was paradise, then Cain could not imagine what damnation looked like.

”Well,” Cain mused dryly, ”who am I to judge the naming preferences of others?”

Continuing his analysis, Cain studied the structure of this universe.

”It takes the form of an inverted pyramid,” he realized. ”I am currently at the highest—and weakest—layer, known as the Dark Blood Realm.”

As for its size...

Cain paused.

”Nine times larger than the Everstrife Empyrean World.”

The sheer scale of the realm stunned him. It dwarfed even the Crimson World’s realms.

”No wonder it feels so immense,” Cain acknowledged.

But there was no time to dwell on awe.

Cain’s focus sharpened as he turned to the geopolitical structure of the Dark Blood Realm—and for the first time since arriving, he received genuinely good news.

”I am currently within the domain of the Kalous Kingdom,” Cain learned, ”the weakest of the five kingdoms ruling this realm.”

Better yet, the Kalous Kingdom was currently at war with its neighboring power—the Aztorus Kingdom.

”That means,” Cain concluded, ”the forces they can spare to deal with me will be limited.”

Relief flickered through his vast consciousness.

His body was not yet complete. Facing the full might of a kingdom—let alone multiple ones—would be disastrous in his current state.

Still, Cain knew better than to rely on fortune.

”I need to accelerate everything,” he resolved. ”Luck is not something I can depend on.”

With that decision made, Cain began channeling the cosmic power embedded deep within the Ocean of the Blood Sun.

In this universe, that power went by a single name.

Omens.
