Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 588: I Know What To Do... Part-2.

If Ellie was an SS-ranker and had the ability to use her shadow dragon bloodline magic, she could have perhaps still managed to do a second reverse-summoning without putting Liam’s soul at too much risk!

But she wasn’t capable of that.

She was weak, helpless, and incapable of ever ascending to the realm of SS-rankers in this lifetime because she’s confined to the spirit realm and has her existence suppressed to the extreme!

Ellie racked her brain for several hours, but she could not find a proper solution to this problem, and with each passing minute, her situation got worse due to miasmic corruption!

The grand seal could recover from the corruption and recreate the broken cage if given enough time, but miasma was not letting it do that.

Now that it had finally made it inside, it was fighting with all its might to keep eroding the outer layers of the grand seal and was enduring the purification magic’s effects continuously!

With each passing moment, Ellie could feel herself weakening and could feel her thought process slowing down due to her mind and sea of consciousness becoming weaker and weaker.

[This is it, Ellie... I am going all out in this final move; forgive me if I end up losing after this...]

After hours of fighting, Rio couldn’t keep Raika busy anymore; Raika’s patience had run out, and he was going all out and was going to bombard Rio with a very powerful skill.

Rio also had to go all out so as not to get killed instantly from the effects of that skill, and thus, he was leaving the rest of the work to Ellie.

’No! no! How can this be!?... this!!! How will I save Liam like that!?’

Ellie was on the verge of collapse after hearing those words; she unconsciously looked in the direction of Rio and Raika but noticed that they were very far away from the giant cage.

And the big part of the giant cage that hadn’t been broken was getting in her way, preventing her from seeing what was happening with them.

But even if she could not see it, Ellie could sense the immense powers concentrating in that direction.

The entire flow of miasma and mana had changed in the entire region, and the spirit realm was trembling from the sheer amount of power that was gathering in that single location!

Even Ellie felt chills run down her spine just from sensing the immense powers gathering there, and she felt insignificant when compared to them.

Seeing that situation, Ellie immediately ran and hid herself behind the giant sealed door, as she knew that if she didn’t, she would be erased from existence in the next moments!

*BOOOOOOOOM!!!!!*

Just when Ellie managed to hide behind the giant door, a massive flash of bright light spread in all directions!

It was as if the sun had risen inside the dark and damp spirit realm.

It became so bright in all directions that Ellie was forced to close her eyes, as she knew that she would go blind if she didn’t protect her eyes!

Even after hiding behind the giant door, she felt immense pressure and was forced to curl up into a ball to protect herself with whatever little shadow elemental power she had.

*BOOOOOOOM!!!*

A shockwave so powerful that the entire space-time fabric warped and bent spread in the region.

Cliffs, mountains, monsters, boulders, dust, air, etc.

Everything was erased from existence in a matter of a fraction of a second!

The space-time fabric ruptured from Rio and Raika’s attacks hitting each other at full power and broke apart on the spot!

A spatial crack so big that it destroyed the entire region and erased everything, including the rest of the giant cage, appeared!

The moment the entirety of the giant cage was broken, nearly all the outer layer seals were broken on the spot!

*COUGH!!!!* *COUGGGH!!!!*

Ellie immediately lost her eyesight as her eyeballs blew apart, her ears ruptured and started bleeding, and she collapsed on the ground instantly!

Massive holes appeared in her entire body, and blood was flowing like a fountain.

Even the core area of the grand seal was damaged to some extent, but since even the miasma and miasmic corruption were annihilated with the space-time fabric, there was no more miasma in the area to take advantage of it.

Ellie barely held on to her consciousness and survived instant death because Rio had used his power to stop Raika’s attack from completely destroying the grand seal.

Some of the outer layer’s seals were still intact, but even they were slowly starting to collapse. Ellie was now in a near-death situation!

Raika had used the power of a word-authority to destroy and attack Rio, but Rio had also used his full power to make and attack and use it for defense.

That also helped save Ellie’s life, but there was no guarantee that she would be able to live for too long in her current state!

”HEHEHE... Afterall... after so many years... you are finally here... death... In the end... I still could not avoid it...”

By this point, Ellie had already accepted her fate.

She had once run away to survive the clutches of miasma, but death was something that would come to everyone one day or another.

Ellie had managed to delay it for a thousand years!

But still, it managed to catch up to her!

Even after hiding for so long, even after surviving for so long, it still managed to find her and bring her the due punishment she deserved for abandoning her people and her hometown.

She was broken, but in those final moments, it was as if she was struck by enlightenment, and her brain worked very fast!

’Ah~... I can see it now too... I can see why you would decide to make such a gamble Father...’

’In your last moments every person would try to erase all of their regrets after all...’

With her collapsing mind and fading consciousness, Ellie finally understood why her father made the choice of merging with all his clansmen.

He had no other choice left; he was on the verge of mental collapse, and to protect even the slightest bit of hope for a brighter future, he had to devour the soul of every clan member to keep some of his mind safe and away from corruption.

He needed all the energy and power he could get.

He was trying to defy fate itself after all; he needed to make a gamble against his destiny and the powerful sea of miasma!

’I know what I need to do now too... thank you for showing me the way... father...’

Ellie’s broken hand, which was twisted 360 degrees several times, was tightly holding onto a space ring, and despite everything that had happened, Ellie still hadn’t let go of it.

Even if her entire body was twisted and destroyed beyond repair due to powerful spatial fluctuations hitting her head-on, Ellie still didn’t let go of that space ring until the end.

After all, it was the first gift she had received from her master.

Liam had given it to her when they first established their contract; she was never going to let go of it.

’Hehe... I know what I have to do... Thank you for showing me the meaning of life, Liam Aldif...’

’I hope that if possible... I will be able to stay by your side one day... hehe...’

On the verge of death, Elisia Mistilteinn figured out the answer.

’I know what to do now...’
