Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 586: It’s My ’Path’! Rio Vs Raika. Part-2.

*BOOOM!* *BOOOM!* *CRACK!* *SHATTER!!*

Rio sword and Raika’s fist collided with each other hundreds of thousands of times over and over as they both traversed the area at insanely fast speeds.

One moment they were fighting near the half-broken cage, and the next they were dozens of kilometers away, bombarding each other with various skills and powers!

Hundreds of mutated beasts got attracted because of their battle and the loud commotion created by them, but most of them got caught in the crossfire and got killed on the spot.

Only a few strong monsters and evil spirits managed to survive for a while before being used as scapegoats to avoid attacks.

The ground in a few dozen kilometers of radius around the half-broken cage was shattered and riddled with massive space cracks due to their fight, and the solidified miasmic crystal layer on the ground was ruptured everywhere!

It seemed like a doomsday was happening; the sky was ripped apart, the space-time fabric was shattered like glass, and the ground was split and cracked open in various places!

”You are not understanding it now, but I am sure you will understand it all in the future! Rio!”

The battle had entered a stalemate the moment Rio adapted and became capable of reacting to Raika’s attacks and figured out that Raika was a ’Projection.’

Rio was not trying to actively destroy the projection anymore but was on a constant defensive.

He was trying to not get hurt and conserve as much mana as possible while buying time.

The main motive of it all was to keep Raika distracted and busy with himself and not let him go towards Ellie.

Moreover, Rio’s main motive right now was to snatch Liam’s soul back one way or another.

But that was proving to be very difficult.

Just like how Raika’s body was a projection, that lyre was also a projection!

Rio tried it many times, but he couldn’t shatter or break that artifact to extract Realm’s soul from it, and it actually disappears and reappears along with Raika every single time.

”Stop talking to me. I do not care what you want to say. Just return Liam and disappear...”

Replying in his usual emotionless tone, Rio raised his sword above his shoulder before swinging downwards.

[Sword Sage’s Enlightenment: Phenomena Interference: Projection Disruption!]

After fighting for so many hours, Rio had already adapted to Raika, and he also managed to create a powerful ability that could directly counter ’Projections,’ which he couldn’t do before.

Rio’s ’sword intent’ is a power that is capable of disrupting and interfering with the usage of other ’laws’ and ’phenomena’ of the world.

Sword Intent is a highly offensive ability, and its offense can be used to disrupt the forces of nature and all kinds of phenomena.

Rio sensed the connection between the person behind the ’projection’ and cut off that connection by disrupting the entire phenomenon and the power of the ’laws’ of nature in a specific area.

The skill consumed a tremendous amount of mana when Rio first used it, but with each subsequent use, Rio became extremely proficient in it and reduced the mana consumption to an insanely low level!

*Crack!* *Shatter!*

With Rio’s swing hitting empty air, Raika’s body cracked and shattered on the spot.

This skill directly worked with the ’laws’ of the world so it could work even without landing a direct hit on Raika’s body.

”How many times will you use that on me! It’s useless!”

Even after shattering the previous projection, a new one appeared right away without any problems!

’Just how much energy the other party has... This is getting annoying now...’

This was the first time Rio felt so annoyed by an opponent.

Raika was very persistent and nearly unkillable!

The person creating this projection seemed to have endless energy, and no matter how many times Rio shattered and destroyed Raika, he would reappear once again right away as if nothing had happened at all.

Raika was not just annoying; he was strong too!

He was completely fine even after so many hours of continuous fighting, as all of his wounds were recovering almost instantly every single time, but the same was not true for Rio.

Rio’s entire body was now covered in wounds.

Aside from the first fatal attack that created a hole in Rio’s stomach, Rio also got hit by several other types of elemental attacks.

Rio wiped the blood from his half-burnt face as he circulated his entire body with constant healing elementals.

’I am really bad at healing magic... I might have to take some lessons from Riya when I return back...’

Thankfully, Rio had a legendary shadow robe equipped, or he might have already lost by now due to accumulated damage, and in that case, he might have had to escape and abandon the mission.

”You do know that you won’t last too long like that in front of me, right?... hehe~ Take my advice, Rio, become my friend, and accept the ’Path’ I am suggesting!”

”Become a ’Hero’! What’s the loss in that!? Why can’t you understand!? Why are you so hell-bent on your stupid, ambitionless ’Path’ of being ’Ordinary’!?”

Rio looked straight into Raika’s eyes after hearing those words, and a slight smile appeared on his face.

”Only I am allowed to say that my ’Path’ is stupid; others are not qualified to say that...”

Rio knew that he was the type of person who was better suited to live a life of peace.

He wasn’t suited to be the emotionless weapon of mass destruction with immense power and destructive capabilities beyond his own control.

Rio wanted to be ordinary, and that is the reason he walks the ’Path’ that is leading him to his happy and ordinary life.

But Raika wants Rio to change this ’Path’; he wants Rio to forget about his dreams and ambitions of living happily ever again and walk the ’Path’ of ’Hero.’

If Rio did that, he would obviously lose all of his humanity first, he would lose his love for Lia, and he would become a slave that would go to any extent to protect humanity, even if it meant killing his own loved ones.

Rio didn’t want that; he never wanted that.

”It’s My ’Path’! And Only I Will Decide If It’s The Right One!!”

[Ding! Your understanding of your ’Path’ has deepened once again!]

[Ding! All of your skills and powers will have their efficiency and effects boosted tremendously!]

[Ding! Your legendary skill ’Sword Intent,’ your ’Imperfect Sword Heart,’ and your ’Sword Body’ has received a greater support of the ’laws’ of the ’World’!]

Pushing away the miasma, the minute amount of mana that was present in the spirit realm rushed towards Rio at an insanely fast speed and strengthened him tremendously!

Rio’s mana tank was filled up to full, and all his wounds were healed in a matter of just a few seconds!

Raika’s eyes widened in shock as he sensed Rio’s aura become stronger and denser in that instant.

”B-bulsh*t!! How is that possible!?”

Instead of making Rio abandon his ’Path,’ Raika’s words worked in a completely opposite direction!

They ended up pushing Rio forward in his ’Path’ and even helped him understand his own ’Path’ in greater detail! Giving him a new power boost!

”You are so stubborn!!”

Gritting his teeth in anger, Raika raised his finger towards the sky and spoke.

”I will beat this stubbornness out of your mind! Don’t think I will let you off the hook so easily!”

”I will break every single bone in your body! I will break you! I will torture you, and I will force you to the point you will be begging for mercy!”

[Echo of Paradise: Cosmic Symphony: Echo Of Destruction!]

A massive orb of purple mass appeared above Raika’s finger; it was rotating at insane speed, and the very space-time fabric started to warp and bend uncontrollably just from the appearance of that massive purple orb.

”YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHAT IT MEANS TO DEFY MY WORDS!!!”

Rio took a deep breath as he landed on the ground and took his stance.

His eyes were devoid of any emotions, just like his face, and he was in a very calm and focused state in that moment.

The boost given by the ’laws’ of the ’world’ was enough to offset all worries in Rio’s mind, and right now he felt truly ’calm’ and ’emotionless.’

His sword intent proficiency had finally crossed the 99 percent threshold and reached 99.99%, making him reach even closer to complete mastery of ’Perfect Sword Intent.’

Rio knew that what he couldn’t do before, he could do now.

[Sword Intent: Maximum Output!]

[Sword Sage’s Enlightenment: Cosmic Rupture: Miasmic Rebellion!]

Rio had practiced hundreds of thousands of times, and he had managed to create the smallest intermediate-grade miasmic crystal before.

But now things were different.

Rio’s control over miasma and his mastery over his sword intent had reached a new level.

Every 0.1% increase in proficiency after reaching 99% mastery over sword intent was a new level.

With each 0.1% increase in proficiency, the power increase was almost the same as a 75% proficiency in a legendary skill.

And Rio directly reached the max of it.

Rio’s understanding of his sword intent went so deep that he almost reached the ’Perfect Sword Intent’ in that moment.

With such power, despite being just an intermediate S-ranker, Rio was able to condense a high-grade miasmic crystal on the spot.

He pointed the tip of his sword towards the sky and condensed the high-grade miasma crystal on the spot before.

”If this doesn’t work, It’s my loss...”

*BOOOOOOM!!!!*

Both Rio and Raika’s attacks exploded at the same time, and the two powers collided with each other at an insane speed!!
