Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 530: A Meeting Arranged By Fate. Part-2.

Rio has never had anyone to look to for guidance when it came to the matter of ’Sword Intent.’

As a legendary skill, ’Sword Intent’ was just as rare as any other legendary skill.

Even Ashtel Rex, the strongest man of their nation, did not have a legendary skill, so Rio had no one to teach him anything about it.

He had to figure out everyone on his own and make his way forward.

In fact, he was the one who was teaching and helping others on how to improve their own legendary skill.

Rio got his legendary skill the earliest among his friends, and he was the one who guided Link and others in this topic.

But there was no one who could provide proper guidance to Rio.

Due to this, Rio ’sword intent’ was improving very slowly at later stages.

Although after becoming an S-ranker, his sword intent evolved, Rio was still far away from the outcome he wanted.

He could intuitively tell that he was still a few steps away from the ’quality’ he needed.

A legendary skill has various ’aspects’ to it that improve its power.

The ’proficiency,’ the user themselves, and finally the ’understanding.’

Rio’s proficiency of his ’sword intent’ was already off the charts; he was already at 99 percent, and he did not need to go any further than this for the time being.

As for his skills and physique, even that was top-notch, as he was already a powerful S-ranker.

Even without Sword intent, he still had enough skills and powers to slaughter fellow S-rankers easily.

The only bottleneck that was still hindering his growth was the ’Understanding.’

Rio was still quite far in understanding the ’law’ of the ’sword’ and the very ’foundation’ of ’sword intent’ itself.

What does the ’law’ of ’sword’ mean exactly? What are its best applications? What is the level and ratio of it that you can apply and use without harming your soul?

Rio had many questions in his mind.

And one of the biggest questions of them all was, why is Rio’s sword intent so ’violent’?

Why is it so uncontrollably hostile to everyone, and why does it need to be kept in constant control all the time?

If Rio does not suppress his sword intent, it will rain hell on everything around him and lash out powerful attacks on everyone around him on its own!

As they say, it’s the darkest right under the lamp.

Rio was teaching others but couldn’t figure out his troubles.

When Kifrid, a random unknown kid, suddenly pointed out that Rio’s sword intent was ’burdening’ him, only then did Rio remember one crucial point.

Ever since Rio got his sword intent, he has been trying to ’control’ or ’suppress’ it.

He’s been trying to contain its violent tendencies and has been improving his proficiency in controlling it tremendously!

But he never tried to understand it or let it flow in a free state.

Sword intent is a power, a manifestation of a ’law’ of ’nature’ that is deeply connected to Rio’s soul now.

It’s almost become a natural part of his body.

Just like how your ’breathing’ gets misbalanced if you start actively controlling it and try to breathe manually, it’s possible for Sword Intent to do the same.

You don’t need to control Sword Intent when it’s in your body.

When it’s connected to your own body and soul, it shouldn’t need any ’control’ or ’suppression.’

Only when you are attacking someone else with it does it need the control, and even then, the sword intent that is leaving your body should be controlled, not the one in your body.

This unnecessarily increases mana, mind, and soul power consumption every time Rio uses his sword intent, and this even causes a drop in power and effectiveness.

[Ding! Your understanding of your ’Sword Intent’ has improved tremendously!]

[Ding! The effectiveness and power of your ’Sword Intent’ has increased by 50 percent!]

”Oh!? That weird energy suddenly became so calm!? What did you do?”

Kifrid exclaimed in a loud voice when he noticed the sudden change in Rio’s sword intent.

Rio’s sword intent suddenly became more fluent and calmer as Rio stopped suppressing it entirely and stopped controlling it.

Instead of controlling it, he let it flow through his entire body in a free way.

This not only increased the movement speed of the sword intent in Rio’s body, but also the entire flow became even and extremely orderly.

It was as if, for the first time, Rio’s sword intent was in a proper ’flow state,’ and there wasn’t even a need for constantly keeping it suppressed.

Rio just redirected the flow of the sword intent, making it loop inside his body similar to how blood loops inside a person’s body, and the ’flow’ became completely calm and even.

It travelled through Rio’s body in an extremely orderly manner as if it was never violent to begin with.

Rio even felt his body become stronger and lighter as the sword intent not only increased his defense but also gave him a constant physical boost.

”It’s because you helped me... Hmm, now I am in your debt, kid. Tell me, do you have a wish that you want to be fulfilled?”

Hearing Rio’s question, Kifrid smiled and said,

”I want to be the strongest in the world!”

Rio shook his head at that answer and replied in a calm voice,

”Power given by others only brings corruption and collapse; power that you attain with your own hard work and efforts brings order and inner peace...”

”Gaining power right away will not make you the strongest; making mistakes and getting up again and again before challenging the ’fate’ itself—that is what makes one the world’s strongest!”

Rio patted the kid’s head and asked again ,

”You need to fulfil this wish yourself; this is your ’path’ in life and no one can help you walk on it; you need to do it yourself...”

”If there is any other wish, tell me...”

Kifrid pushed away Rio’s hand from his head and spoke with a pout on his face.

”Don’t pat me on the head; I will not be able to grow tall!”

”I have decided; I want to be tall and powerful!”

Rio smiled at Kifrid’s adorable words and brought his flute out again.

[Sword Intent!]

[Sword Sage’s Enlightenment: Soul Manipulation: Soul Body Enhancement!]

Rio poked the little kid’s forehead with his flute and used one of his strongest skills, the ability to manipulate souls, on the little kiddo.

He used his newly enhanced sword intent to create a deeper soul and body connection inside Kifrid.

A person’s soul and sea of consciousness are connected to their body deeply, but it’s possible to enhance that connection if you have the legendary skill ’Soul Resonance’ or an ability to manipulate souls like Rio.

Even SS-rankers might not be able to do what Rio was doing.

Rio artificially enhanced Kifrid’s talent in various aspects.

An enhanced connection between body and soul will help Kifrid become naturally stronger compared to his peers, not only in terms of physique but also mind.

This will help his mind and soul grow together while boosting each other mutually.

Once Kifrid becomes an awakener, this enhanced connection will be even stronger and more powerful!
