Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 504: A Sinister Conspiracy. Part-2.

The Orc Empire has always been at odds with the human empire, and the main reason for this never-ending hostility is that Orcs consider humans as nothing more than food.

For them, attacking humans is nothing more than going out on a hunt for food; it’s just basic biology and their natural instincts.

But this is something no human would accept, and they will always retaliate fiercely.

Even during the times of King Allen, there were many problems created by the Orc race that caused many unnecessary casualties.

But you can’t just destroy an entire race just because of their eating habits.

Orcs and humans can never be friends, but that doesn’t mean King Allen would have wiped out the Orc race off the face of the earth.

If he had done such a deed, he wouldn’t have been able to establish the world alliance, as that would have made him biased towards the human empire, and many nations would not have listened to him after that.

Geopolitics is a very complicated matter; you can’t just simply destroy a country you do not like. There are many factors you need to consider.

Humans and Orcs cannot stand each other, but they have remained in a peaceful coexistence state for the past several decades; the main reason for that was the presence of an absolute deterrent force called ’Ashtel Rex.’

With him gone, there’s nothing stopping the Orc race from following their instincts.

The human empire has already lost three SS-rankers all at once, and there’s only Raji left, who’s just a young, new SS-ranker who hasn’t even killed a fellow SS-ranker as of yet.

Unlike Ashtel, who had a record of slaughtering several dozen SS-rankers, Raji grew up in an age of peace where the nation was being protected by Ashtel.

She has conquered SS-rank dungeons indeed, but she has never had to fight fellow SS-rankers and has never killed one before.

This will obviously put her at a great disadvantage against veteran SS-rankers who have already lived for hundreds of years and have a vast amount of experience.

The current Orc King is someone who has fought in the fifty-year war and became an SS-ranker after that; he’s also fought many fellow SS-rankers and is a veteran.

The location of the hidden base is very close to the border of the Orc Empire; if Raji, an SS-ranker, goes there, it will give the Orc King a valid excuse to go there too in the name of border security.

He can easily stall Raji, and in the meantime, when she’s busy, the Rex Mansion will be defenseless, and it will become easier to raid it in her absence.

Even if Raji does not personally go there and sends Rio there to deal with the situation, the Orc King might still come over and deal with Rio instead.

Rio has become popular rapidly in the past few months, and his fame has definitely reached the Orc Empire.

They obviously do not want another ’Ashtel Rex’ to be born, and they can go to any lengths to prevent this from happening.

Yes, SS-rankers are broad-minded people, but that’s only when the target is not too monstrously talented.

Rio showed his amazing talent in the supreme tournament, but no one dared to move, mainly because of Ashtel and because he was still far too weak to be considered a rising threat.

Other nations’ SS-rankers might not have thoughts about Rio, but an enemy nation, the Orc nation, will obviously not want to let go of this chance.

Even in the original novel, Fade was also targeted by many when he was still an S-ranker because of his talent and the absence of strong protectors.

”They are really taking quite an advantage of Link’s father being injured... as they say, hyena’s swarm around an injured Lion the fastest...”

Raji nodded her head at Rio’s words.

”This is a very sinister conspiracy to further weaken the empire using any means possible...”

”If their plan succeeds, the Orc Kingdom will obviously be reprimanded by the world alliance but the ones who will suffer the most will be us in the end...”

Raji narrowed her eyes and looked into Rio’s lifeless-looking eyes.

”Asking for help from the world alliance might be a bit difficult right now...What do you think we should do?”

Rio suddenly smiled sinisterly and replied in a calm voice,

”Actually... I recently learned a new skill...”

...

Near the Orc Border.

In a certain underground base.

*Twang!* *Twang!*

A loud noise of a lash being struck on someone’s body rang out in the damp underground base.

”AHHH! Please let me go!!! Nooo!!”

A middle-aged man cried out in pain from inside a wide cell as others watched the scene with fear and horror in their eyes.

”That god*mn lunatic of your nation!! He killed several of my partners overnight!! You sh*tty humans are so disgusting!!”

”You are only worth being food for us great warriors of the Orc Race!!”

Just when the high orc was letting out his anger on the poor man, another Orc entered the cell and spoke.

”Oi Oi, don’t damage the goods, man; that will reduce their value. don’t you know those perverts back at home like them fresh and spotless...”

The angry Orc finally calmed down after hearing his partner’s words and stopped; he threw away the lash to the side and walked out of the cell with his partner, but a frustrated look remained on his face.

”It’s all because of that rabid human dog! He’s been hunting members of our organization left and right recently! I don’t even dare go outside these days because of him!”

Hearing his partner’s frustrated tone, the other Orc smiled slightly and replied.

”Don’t worry, this time we will be able to completely get rid of that problem once and for all, and if things go right, we might even get to severely weaken the human empire!!”

”Then our organization can do business openly! There will be no one stopping us! This time, even if that mad dog Rio and that woman Raji both come together, we will still deal with them easily!!”

The two Orcs smiled at each other and felt happy about the fact that they had a bright future ahead of them.

”Have you sent the message to the Orc King? Don’t delay... if even a single second of delay occurs, we all will be dead by the time he arrives to our help and deals with that cold woman...”

The other orc nodded his head at his partner’s words.

”Yeah, it’s ready; we will have no need to worry about anything at all!”

*hummm!*

A soft sonic boom sounded, and the two orcs looked towards the main entrance of the hidden base.

”Oh, it’s Xagu who’s back... hoho, he’s brought a new young prey back. I like how efficient that guy is in capturing prey...”

”With that mad dog wandering outside, it’s really difficult gathering new products. Xagu really is a courageous guy...”

The orc glanced at a nearby subordinate and ordered.

”Oi! Go and gather all the prey that’s in the cages; it’s about time we transport this batch now that Xagu has brought a new one and has fulfilled the quota of this month...”

”Hehe, with this number we will soon be rewarded handsomely hehe...”
