I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 1268  Stubborn

”Iʼve noted down these two suggestions and will try to arrange them as soon as possible,” Liu Hong said.

”The Central Guards Brigade has been around for so many years. Itʼs time for some internal changes.”

”This is your own matter, so I wonʼt interfere anymore.” Lin Yi stretched and said. ”If thereʼs nothing else, Iʼll head back to Zhonghai.”

”What do you mean youʼre heading back to Zhonghai?” Liu Hong asked.

”There are still many things that need to be done after the trial. Ultimately, youʼre the team leader of Team 1, so I need you to take care of some things after the trial. Stay for a few more days.”

”My wife is waiting for me in Zhonghai.”

”Do you think I donʼt know what kind of person you are? The fact that youʼre in such a hurry to go back means you definitely donʼt have any good intentions.”

”Itʼs a biological need. Itʼs different from you old men in your forties.”

”Stop talking nonsense with me. This issue can be resolved anywhere. Why are you in such a hurry to go back? Whatʼs wrong? Is Ning Che not fun enough for you anymore?”

Ning Che, ”???”

Why am I suddenly being dragged into this?

He has never played with me before!

”Alright, Iʼll stay for a few more days.”

Ring ring ring!

Just as Lin Yi was about to go back and rest, his phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number.

”Hello?”

”Hello, Mr. Lin. Iʼm Zhao Shiqi. I got your number from Director Yan.”

”Ah…”

Lin Yi echoed, ”Why are you looking for me?”

”Well…”

Zhao Shiqi wanted to say something but hesitated. After muttering for a while, she said,

”The paparazzi secretly took photos of you and caused you a lot of trouble. I want to treat you to a meal to apologize.”

”Iʼm sure your company arranged this.”

Zhao Shiqi stuttered.

”The company did call me, but I feel that no matter what your motive was for helping me settle this issue, I still have to thank you. Hehe, it shouldnʼt be a problem to treat me to a meal, right?”

Lin Yi looked at his watch. ”I donʼt mind having a meal, but just donʼt let what happened yesterday happen again.”

”Donʼt worry, Mr. Lin. It wonʼt happen again. Iʼll do my best to protect you.”

”Alright, you can decide on the time and place. Just send the details to my phone when the time comes.”

Soon, Zhao Shiqi decided on a place to eat.

The meal was set for five oʼclock in the evening, but the location was a little remote. It was not in the CBD area.

As he had plans for the night, Lin Yi did not stay long in the Central Guards Brigade. He returned to the hotel to take a shower, change his clothes, and have a phone conversation with his wife.

He thought that this would just be a way to kill time, but unexpectedly, something interesting happened.

There was a semiconductor conference taking place in Yanjing.

Moreover, it was an international conference. He could be considered to have hit the jackpot.

However, Lin Yi wasnʼt overly fussed. There were so many people in his company. He didnʼt need to personally attend it.

If they really needed him, they would have called him long ago and not waited until now.

After chatting with Ji Qingyan for a while, Lin Yi hung up and went for his dinner appointment.

The place Zhao Shiqi chose was near the fifth ring of Yanjing.

However, the houses here were not cheap. Any one of them cost millions. To ordinary people, these houses were more than nice enough to retire in.

The restaurantʼs name was The Wizard of Oz, and it was a Western restaurant.

The environment inside was quiet and decorated in an old medieval style. However, there was no one inside. The entire place seemed to have been reserved.

”Mr. Lin, youʼre here.”

Lin Yi had just reached the door when he saw Zhao Shiqi walking out.

Zhao Shiqiʼs outfit was eye-catching.

She was wearing a black tube top dress. Her shoulders were exposed, and her calves looked slim and long. She looked exceptionally exquisite.

”Iʼm not late, am I?”

”No, no. I came early.”

Zhao Shiqi gestured for Lin Yi to enter.

Just as Lin Yi had expected, the entire place had already been booked.

Thus, he casually ordered something and prepared to eat.

”Mr. Lin, thank you for this. Otherwise, we wouldnʼt know how to settle this matter,” Zhao Shiqi raised her glass and said.

”I didnʼt do much. It was mostly my two colleagues who took care of this.”

”This is all my fault. Iʼve implicated all of you. Let me toast you.”

”Itʼs not a big deal. Donʼt worry about it.”

”Mr. Lin, Iʼm very curious. Since youʼre the president of Lingyun Group, why are you living in Happiness Village?”

”Would you believe me if I said that Iʼm refined?”

”I would!”

Lin Yi, ”...”

”The negative news online should have all been taken down, right?”

Lin Yi changed the topic. After all, Qiu Yuluo and Ning Che were very cautious of this matter.

”I heard that itʼs quite troublesome,” Zhao Shiqi said nervously.

”Other than Hai Yu Media, our photos have also been used by other people with ulterior motives, but they are still being processed.”

”Huh? Thereʼs still someone whoʼs remaining stubborn at a time like this?” Lin Yi raised his head and asked, ”Do you know who it is?”

”We havenʼt found him yet, but we have a suspect.”

”Who?”

Lin Yi cut a piece of steak and asked slowly.

”Iʼm guessing that it might be Lin Ziyi from Xinqi Entertainment. Next month, Director Li Wenyuanʼs new movie will start filming. However, the female lead hasnʼt been decided yet, but Iʼm her main competitor. She probably wants to use this matter to influence the directorʼs casting.”

”Ah, I understand,” Lin Yi said as he held his phone.

…

Xinqi Entertainment, General Managerʼs Office.

There were two people sitting in the office. The man at the desk was in his forties.

He was wearing a white shirt with a suit resting on his hanger. He held a cigarette in his hand and looked exceptionally chic.

The manʼs name was Meng Wei, and he was the general manager of Xinqi Entertainment.

There was also a young woman on the sofa in the office. She looked to be in her mid-twenties. Her long hair flowed naturally and she did not wear any makeup. Her slender legs were especially eye-catching.

The womanʼs name was Lin Ziyi. Like Zhao Shiqi, she was currently an A-list actress.

The reason why she debuted was all because Meng Wei had a meal in front of Zhonghai Drama Academy in the past. At the time, he unintentionally discovered her and invited her to Xinqi Entertainment.

Lin Ziyi lived up to everyoneʼs expectations. In less than three years, she became an A-list actress and became a golden goose for Xinqi Entertainment.

”Whatʼs wrong with those paparazzi? They actually removed the news.”

Meng Wei smoked as he browsed the news on his computer.

”Zhao Shiqi must have paid them off. Otherwise, she wouldnʼt have disappeared from the trending searches,” Lin Ziyi said.

”Fortunately, I had the foresight to arrange for someone to hype this matter up in advance.”

Lin Ziyi laughed, ”But none of this matters anymore. Director Li just called me. I have been chosen as the lead actress. It would be best if Zhao Shiqi gets humiliated, but it doesnʼt matter if she doesnʼt. Regardless, after acting in Director Liʼs movie, my reputation will only will improve further, and I will soon surpass her.”

”Thatʼs for sure. Director Li is an internationally renowned director. If you get a role in his movie, youʼre basically guaranteed to win the Best Actress award.” Meng Wei said.

”You must make sure to do a good job.”

”Donʼt worry, I know what Iʼm doing.”

Ring ring ring!

”Ah, Director Li called me. He probably wants to talk about the show!”
