Chapter 713 - 713 The Little Expert at Mediating

713 The Little Expert at Mediating

Since he had nothing to do in the afternoon, Lin Yi prepared to return to Jiuzhou Pavilion to work on Chip 3.0.

Director Shen’s research could make progress at any time.

He had to hold on tight on his side. He could not drag down the development of the lithography machine.

Ring!

!!
Lin Yi’s phone rang. It was a call from Liang Ruoxu.

“You still have the cheek to call me?” Lin Yi said.

“Huh? Why would I be embarrassed to call you?”

“I was halfway through my pleasurable experience and you got me kicked out. I really admire you.”

“Have a conscience. Ever since the reopening, I haven’t interfered when you went there yourself, right?”

“Then why did you bother me yesterday?”

“Yanyan has learned some bad things from you. How dare you say that?”

“What’s wrong with that? Life only runs for a few decades. Don’t you have to try everything? It’s just a special massage parlor and spa. What’s wrong with that?”

“Speak louder. You’re on loudspeaker. Uncle Chen happens to be beside me. Let him hear what you’re doing with his daughter.”

“Damn, why are the two of you together?”

“The R&D center had the ribbon-cutting ceremony in the morning. After that, Uncle Chen and I came back together.” Liang Ruoxu said, “Are you free? Come over now. Uncle Chen wants to have a meal with you.”

“Okay, where are you guys?”

“At the office cafeteria.”

“You’re eating at the office cafeteria? That’s a little degrading. Let’s go to my Peninsula Hotel.”

“Try your best to avoid any trouble and just come over quickly. Uncle Chen is waiting for you.”

“Sure.”

Lin Yi wasn’t interested in idle chit-chat, but he still had to meet Chen Yan’s father.

Turning the car around, Lin Yi drove to Liang Ruoxu’s unit and met Chen Shunjie in the canteen.

Chen Shunjie’s appearance was similar to what Lin Yi had expected. He had a medium build, wore glasses, and had short hair. He gave off a refreshing feeling.

“You must be Lin Yi. It’s been so long, and I’m finally seeing you in person.”

Seeing Lin Yi, Chen Shunjie extended his hand to greet him.

“Director Chen, hello.”

“Director Chen, you’re treating me like an outsider.”

“That’s not true.” Lin Yi chuckled. “I’m just a businessman. I have to avoid any sudden accusations.”

“Haha…”

Chen Shunjie smiled. “Kid, you know quite a lot. Don’t worry, there are no outsiders here. If you’re not afraid that I’ll take advantage of you, just call me Uncle Chen like Little Mi does.”

“Then I won’t stand on ceremony with you.”

“Come on, don’t stand there. Let’s eat first.”

“Okay.”

The dining venue was in a single room in the canteen where the chef had set up a private kitchen.

Although the decor was not great, the taste was definitely good.

“Why isn’t Chen Yan here?” Lin Yi asked after sitting down.

“The R&D center just opened today, so they are scoping out nearby restaurants. Hence, they didn’t join us,” Liang Ruoxu said.

Lin Yi nodded and did not say anything else.

“By the way, I have something for you this time.”

With that, Chen Shunjie handed a brown paper document bag to Lin Yi.

“Hmm? What is it?”

“You’ll know when you see it.”

Lin Yi opened the brown paper bag, revealing a red-covered ID.

“Hm? Secretary-General of the Medical Association?”

“It’s a position.” Chen Shunjie said.

“You’ve done so much for Huaxia. I don’t have anything to thank you for, so I got you this. Although it’s just a position, it’s not just for show. It has real power, but you don’t have to hold any position. Therefore, it won’t waste your time.”

Originally, Chen Shunjie wanted to make this matter public and further increase Lin Yi’s reputation.

However, because of Shen Shuyi’s advice, he gave up on this plan.

Looking at the ID in his hand, Lin Yi felt that Chen Shunjie was very sincere.

After all, this was a document with real power. It was not just for show.

“Thank you, Uncle Chen.”

“There’s no need to be so polite. You deserve it. Compared to what you’ve done, my work is nothing,” Chen Shunjie said.

“By the way, your businesses are now focused on the Internet and the technology industry. Do you have any plans to develop physical products?”

“Does Uncle Chen want me to enter the pharmaceutical industry?”

Chen Shunjie nodded noncommittally. “Your ability is obvious to all. I can still help you from above. It’s a good time to do it now since if you wait a few more years I might retire. By then, I don’t know if the higher-ups will continue to support you.”

Lin Yi was a little emotional. When people reached a certain level, even if they didn’t want to earn money, someone would put money in their pockets.

As the saying goes, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

“Hahaha… let me think.”

Lin Yi’s answer was within Liang Ruoxu’s expectations.

Lin Yi didn’t value money that much. He wasn’t like ordinary people.

“Are you unwilling to do it?” Chen Shunjie asked, but he was not angry.

“I know Uncle Chen is doing this for my own good, but my timeline might not allow it,” Lin Yi said.

“I can’t spend all my time on pharmaceutical research. If I leave it to others to manage, it will be difficult for me to grow it to become a world-class company.”

With that, Lin Yi paused. “Secondly, the tallest tree attracts the wind. I still want to be free. I’ll hand to torture myself with the photolithography machine for the time being.”

“Lin Yi is used to being lazy. If he were to sit in the office obediently, he would fall sick in less than two days,” Liang Ruoxu tried to smooth things over.

“Tsk tsk tsk, you know me best.” Lin Yi said.

“Although I don’t am not looking to do this for the time being, I’ll still help if you encounter any problems in the research and development of future medicine. Instead of establishing a new company, it’ll be better to nurture multiple firms. Otherwise, it will involve new interests, which is obviously not a good thing.”

“Kid, you’re still young, but you’ve seen through these things quite thoroughly.” Chen Shunjie said.

“In that case, I won’t force you. But if you change your mind, you can call me anytime. If I can give you the green light, I’ll sign it.”

“Thank you, Uncle Chen.”

“By the way, the R&D center is developing a blood clotting drug. I heard that there’s been a breakthrough. Do you know anything about the situation here?”

“I knew about this the last time I went to the research and development center,” Lin Yi said.

“I’ve already sorted out the general formula. I’ll let the people below handle the experimental proofing stage.”

“You got it out so quickly?”

“This medicine is different from those that treat rare diseases. There’s a lot of information to refer to, so it doesn’t take long.”

“That’s good.” Chen Shunjie said.

“The prices of these thrombus-solving drugs on the market are generally high, while the treatment effect is limited. We need a new drug to break the market stalemate.”

“Alright, after dinner, Lin Yi and I will go to the research and development center and settle this matter.”

Lin Yi glanced at Liang Ruoxu. She immediately agreed on his behalf?

‘You’re quite the mediator.’
