I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 701 - 701 Meeting an Unexpected Sicko

701 Meeting an Unexpected Sicko

“What’s there to be afraid of?” Yang Guangxia insisted. “If he wins, we can stand proud. If he loses, it’s not like he’ll be embarrassed. Isn’t this a good thing?”

Liang Ruoxu puffed up his cheeks and stood at the side like a punching bag.

She still felt that Yang Guangxia was bullying her.

“Then let’s do the full set,” Lin Yi said, “It’s boring to just do a single event.”

!!
“Kid, you have courage. Haha…”

Liang Ruoxu pursed her lips. He was making a reference to Huaqing Lake massage sets.

“Old Chen, bring two Type 95s over,” Sun Zhou called out.

“Ah? Why two? Didn’t you bring one yourself?”

“To be fair, I won’t use my own gun.”

“Wait here.”

Chen Ziqiang took two Type 95s and handed them to Sun Zhou and Lin Yi.

Lin Yi took the Type 95 and weighed it in his hand. It was quite heavy.

Because of the sage’s wisdom, Lin Yi had some understanding of how to use this thing.

However, this was all theoretical knowledge. This was the first time he had really come into contact with this kind of thing.

“Let me familiarize myself with this gun first,” Lin Yi said with a smile.

“Familiarize?” Everyone was stunned. Sun Zhou asked, “You’ve never used it before?”

“I have some theoretical knowledge, but this is my first time trying it.”

“Um…”

Sun Zhou’s expression changed slightly. He felt insulted.

What was the chief trying to do? Wasn’t it a joke to compare himself to someone who had never touched a gun before?

“Lin Yi, can you really do this? Were you just bragging in front of me?”

“Of course not,” Lin Yi said, “Let me familiarize myself first, don’t panic.”

Lin Yi used the memories in his mind to split the Type 95 into several parts, then reassemble it again.

Lin Yi’s movements weren’t fast. On the contrary, he was rather slow. Even so, he was slowly memorizing the shape and assembly order of each individual part.

He even simulated the fastest possible assembly process in his mind.

Apart from that, Lin Yi also estimated internally that according to this optimized assembly sequence, he should be able to reduce the assembly time to less than 20 seconds.

However, he was unsure if he could defeat Sun Zhou.

He was the King of Guns in this garrison area. His ability was clear to see. He was not someone to be trifled with.

“Okay.” Lin Yi handed the gun to Gao Chong. “Check it. It should be fine.”

“There’s no need to check. It’s fine.”

They had all witnessed the process of Lin Yi assembling the gun.

There was no problem with the disassembly and assembly sequence, so there were naturally no mistakes to check for.

This kind of task was considered mediocre in the garrison area. Even Liang Ruoxu could do it.

However, the problem was that Lin Yi had never come into contact with these things before. He only knew some theoretical knowledge but could already disassemble it perfectly.

This was already very impressive. It was very difficult for ordinary people to do it.

This was because there was always a gap between theory and practice.

“Alright, we can start now,” Lin Yi said.

“Can you really start now?” Sun Zhou said, “Are you sure you don’t want to practice a few more times?”

“No need, it’s not a big problem,” Lin Yi said, “You’re the King of Guns in this garrison, it’s not embarrassing if I lose.”

“Then let’s start now.”

The two of them dismantled the guns and divided them into more than ten parts of various sizes. They placed them neatly on the table and prepared to assemble them shortly.

“Squad Leader, how many seconds do you think Sun Zhou will be ahead of him?”

“More than a minute,” Chen Ziqiang said.

“Huh? More than a minute?”

Chen Ziqiang nodded. “Just now, I estimated that it took him more than three minutes to assemble the gun. However, during the competition, his speed will definitely be faster, but it is unlikely he will do it in less than a minute and a half. Sun Zhou’s record is 21 seconds. I said more than a minute, but this is already a very good result.”

“That seems like it is very likely.”

As he spoke, Chen Ziqiang took out a timer, wanting to see if Sun Zhou could break his record.

At the same time, both of the contestants finished their preparations. Yang Guangxia asked,

“Are you ready?”

The two men nodded, their expressions intent. “Ready.”

“Alright, let’s begin!”

With a command, the two of them picked up the parts on the table and began to put them together.

At this moment, Lin Yi’s muscles tensed up.

He followed his mental flow as he assembled the gun parts one by one.

“W-what’s going on?”

Chen Ziqiang and the others were stunned.

Lin Yi’s movements weren’t slow at all. On the contrary, he was extremely fast.

Halfway through the competition, he was already ahead by one part.

He was at least a second faster!

Yang Guangxia tilted his head and exchanged glances with Mo Hongshan.

Lin Yi’s speed was beyond their expectations.

He had only practiced once, but he was already so fast?!

That was unlikely.

“Done!”

Seeing Lin Yi put the assembled Type 95 on the table, everyone was silent.

As Sun Zhou was still missing two parts, he was almost two seconds behind.

“1-18 seconds…”

Chen Ziqiang’s eyes widened in disbelief.

“18 seconds?”

Yang Guangxia and the others were also in disbelief.

The record for the garrison area was held by Sun Zhou at 21 seconds, and this record had been laid untouched for many years.

Lin Yi actually broke it today?

Sun Zhou was dumbfounded, and his eyes became unfocused.

He had played with guns for so many years that he even wished he could hug them when he slept.

However, now, he had actually lost to a layman. This outcome was unacceptable to him.

Lin Yi’s eyes met Liang Ruoxu’s in midair. The latter smiled happily and secretly gave him a thumbs up.

“Sun Zhou, what’s wrong with you?” Gao Chong said.

The chief was still waiting for him to regain their pride. Unexpectedly, he had dropped the ball.

Sun Zhou’s expression collapsed. He felt like he was suffering in silence.

He was just an ordinary person. Who would have thought that he would suddenly meet this sicko?!

“That’s enough.” Yang Guangxia waved his hand nonchalantly. “Next, the 50-meter fixed target.”

With that, Yang Guangxia looked at Lin Yi. “Do you need to prepare this?”

“There’s no need for that. Let’s just start.”

“Are you that confident?”

“When I was a kid, I used to shoot birds with a slingshot. The principles are pretty much the same.”

“Keep bragging, kid.” Yang Guangxia waved his hand. “Everyone gets ten bullets. Let’s start now.”

Sun Zhou took a deep breath and felt the pressure on his body multiply.

He knew that when it came to live ammunition, he would definitely win.

Still, he had lost when it came to gun assembly.

In this round, he had to do his best to get a great result. The more ahead he was, the better.

Only then could he redeem himself!

Otherwise, even if the chief didn’t punish him, Brother Gao would do it.

Taking a deep breath, Sun Zhou straightened his expression and pulled the trigger.

50m fixed target competition,

The competition had officially begun!
