I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 290: The Scene of a Large Car Crash

“He’s his son, after all. Oftentimes, the word ‘remind’ won’t work,” Ji Qingyan said.

“Maybe it’s just an attitude issue. Even so, the meaning behind his actions can only be understood by the person involved.”

Ji Qingyan combed her hair and continued,

“But if you can find out about Cao Jingqiu’s position at Cisco, you’ll be able to understand this matter more clearly.”

Lin Yi nodded noncommittally. Ji Qingyan’s words made sense.

!!
From Cao Xiangyu’s current state, he seemed a little less mature and steady.

“Isn’t Cisco your enemy now? Where did you meet him?”

“At the entrance of Sci-Tech’s factory. He brought his secretary there.”

“Are you going to buy the company?”Ji Qingyan asked. “I saw the financial news a few days ago. I think it said that the company has declared bankruptcy. Will Cisco be taking over it?”

Lin Yi was a little surprised. He didn’t expect her to pay attention to news surrounding technology.

Little did he know that if it wasn’t for Lin Yi, she wouldn’t have paid so much attention to this field.

“You’re thinking too much. They won’t buy it,” Lin Yi said.

“How can you be so sure? Based on what evidence?”

“Because I already bought Sci-tech.”

Qingyan, “???”

“You bought the company? !”Ji Qingyan widened her beautiful eyes in disbelief.

“I just bought it today. It’s just a bankrupt company. Is there a need to make such a big fuss?”

“The main reason is that I haven’t heard about this from He Yuanyuan. Did you buy it without saying anything?”

He Yuanyuan was Lingyun’s CFO. As the chief financial officer, she had to oversee any acquisition. Otherwise, no one would pay for it.

“Other than Lingyun group, don’t I have other businesses? I happened to see the news of Sci-tech’s bankruptcy that day, so I bought them.”

Sci-tech Electronics was a reward from the system. There was no way he could say this out loud, so he just thought up a reason to avoid the topic.

“You’re being too dramatic,” Ji Qingyan said with a smile. “Why is it that buying a company from you is like buying a cabbage?”

“That’s where you’re wrong. It’s easier than buying a cabbage.”

“Keep bragging.”

Seeing Lin Yi’s success, Ji Qingyan was happy as well. She didn’t dwell on the question and returned to. the previous topic.

“If you met Cao Xiangyu at the factory gate, I think his motive might not be that straightforward.”

Lin Yi had thought about it before, but he wasn’t sure yet.

“You mean he went to Sci-tech to try to produce OEM goods?”

Ji Qingyan nodded, “Yuanyuan and I have talked a lot about Cisco. Right now, their biggest problem is their lack of production capacity, because not only Lingyun group, but other powerful companies are also very optimistic about Cisco’s products. In order to quickly gain a foothold in the market, they will definitely look to produce OEM goods in the short term.”

“Apart from that, I also heard from Yuanyuan that Cisco places a lot of importance on chip 1.0. They even made a slogan internally, saying that within five years, they would become the third largest generation of manufacturers after Hon Hai and TVB. That’s why they’re so anxious to gain a foothold in the industry. Due to this, I think that they might really be looking for a partnership.”

Lin Yi sat cross-legged on the bed with his head resting on one hand, his brows furrowed.

“If you put it that way, there are two possibilities for Cao Xiangyu’s visit to Sci-tech,” Lin Yi said.

“It could be his father’s idea and he’s just following instructions. Secondly, it could be to strengthen his position in the company and seek cooperation.”

“Hehe, you’re so smart.”

Ji Qingyan pinched Lin Yi’s face and walked behind him, massaging his shoulders.

“I think the second possibility would be better for you. This way, the bargaining chip will be more valuable and it’ll be easier for you to negotiate.”

“That’s true,” Lin Yi said.

Even so, there was a hidden worry in his heart.

Apart from Cao Xiangyu, the hidden Cao Jingqiu seemed to be a hidden danger as well.

If he had the chance, he really had to investigate this person again.

Ring, Ring, Ring…

Just as Lin Yi was thinking about these things, his phone rang.

The person who called was Wang Tianlong.

“What happened?”

“President Lin, someone called Cao Xiangyu just called, but I didn’t pick up. I told my wife to pick it up.”

In the previous call, Lin Yi told Wang Tianlong that strangers might call him in the near future. At the same time, he also told him not to pick up the phone personally if he saw an unfamiliar number. He was to have someone else pick it up and ask about the situation before deciding what to do next.

Wang Tianlong was very obedient in this regard, and he let his wife take on this difficult task.

“What did the other party say?”

“He said that he’s the director of Cisco Electronics and wants to talk to me. He seems to be interested in working with me. He didn’t say much else.”

Lin Yi and Ji Qingyan looked at each other.

They felt that things were going according to their expectations.

Cao Xiangyu must have called at this time to ask for a contract.

After thinking for a few seconds, Lin Yi said,

“Tell him that you don’t have time to talk. Give him my contact information, but don’t expose my identity.”

“You have to have an identity, right? Otherwise, you won’t be able to handle this.” Ji Qingyan said.

“That’s easy. Just tell him that I’m your brother-in-law, and I’m taking take care of the factory.”

“That’s not a problem, but my brother-in-law got into a car accident two years ago. He was hit by a big truck into the wall, and when he was found, he was badly mutilated. He died a horrible death…”

Lin Yi, “…”

Ji Qingyan, on the other hand, was laughing her head off. She didn’t expect such a conversation to happen.

“That’s quite a tragedy. Do you want to find a truck and experience it for yourself?”

“No, no, no, President Lin. Let’s talk things over. If I really died a martyr, who would help you manage the hotel?”

“Are you afraid you won’t be able to find someone to replace you with the money I have?”

“President Lin, you can’t say that,”Tianlong said.

“I’m not bragging, but the size of Peninsula Hotel is clear. There really aren’t many people who can manage such a big hotel in such an orderly manner.”

“Alright, stop bragging,” Lin Yi said. “Be more energetic when you work. Don’t let news of this get out.”

“Got it, President Lin. I promise to complete the mission!”

“Okay.”

Lin Yi hung up after a few simple words.

Hiss…

Lin Yi suddenly felt a shiver as he hung up the phone. “I didn’t turn on the air conditioner either. Why is it so cold in here…”

The conversation stopped abruptly when Lin Yi saw Ji Qingyan’s murderous face.

What was wrong with this woman?

Even if she was on her period, she shouldn’t be so unpredictable. Wasn’t she fine moments ago?

“You said just now that the Peninsula Hotel is yours?”

“Yes, yes. It’s just a hotel. It’s not a big deal, right?”

“Before that, Chaoyang Group wanted to rent a venue for the press conference. Manager Wang changed his usual behavior and actively cooperated. This was because of you, right?”

“Uh… If I’m not mistaken, that should be the reason…”

“You even dare to admit it!” Ji Qingyan said anxiously, “You actually used such a method to trick me into squatting for you. I’m going to teach you a lesson!”
