I Get A Random New Occupation Every Week

Chapter 257: Being Pretty Is the Same if You Turn Off the Lights

The dance didn’t last long, ending in less than an hour.

On the other hand, Guo Rui looked at Lin Yi with a smile on her face. She found the girl next to him quite interesting.

She looked just like those girls who were just starting to fall in love.

After the dance ended, the attendees all sat down on the chairs at the side.

Next up was the highlight of the night, the charity auction.

!!
In Lin Yi’s memory, this was the first time he’d ever attended such an event.

“Did you participate in auctions when you came here in the past?”

“I’ll bid for anything interesting,” Ji Qingyan said. “But you and I shouldn’t bid for anything at this auction today.”

“What’s wrong? You can’t buy anything here?”

“It’s not that we can’t, it’s that we don’t have to,”Qingyan said. “We have our own foundation. Why should we give them the money and take it home their goods just for charity? Won’t it be the same if we just give it to our own foundation?”

“That makes sense too.”

Lin Yi smiled. This Ji Qingyan was quite good at housekeeping. She even paid attention to such minute details.

There were a total of eight items in the auction, and most of them were calligraphy and antiques. There was even something similar to feng shui that the middle-aged nouveau riche loved.

Under Ji Qingyan’s instructions, Lin Yi sat by the side and watched the show. He had no intention of bidding.

Qin Han, on the other hand, bought a calligraphy and painting for 7.39 million, but judging from his expression, he didn’t seem to be interested in them at all. He was just there to support the auction.

About two hours later, the last item was sold, signaling the end of the auction.

One by one, the participants left, and so did Ji Qingyan and Lin Yi.

Lin Yi originally planned to bring Ji Qingyan to Jiuzhou Pavilion, but since she didn’t have a change of clothes, and she naturally couldn’t wear her evening gown the entire time, they eventually went back to Yunshui Villa.

“You’re finally back.”

When they got home, Ji Qingyan took off her high heels, undid her black hair, and laid down comfortably on the sofa.

Her long black hair fell like a waterfall, adding a different kind of beauty to her.

“There’s mango juice in the fridge. If you want to have some, you can get it yourself. I need to rest for a while,” Ji Qingyan said.

“Do you want me to massage you?”

“I don’t want that. You’re definitely trying to take advantage of me.”

“You say that like I’ve never seen a woman before.” Lin Yi opened the fridge and took out some mango juice, ready to drink it.

Ji Qingyan, who was slumped on the sofa, sat up after hearing Lin Yi’s words, as if she was on steroids.

“You haven’t told me yet, what’s with the woman who asked you to dance?”

“She just asked me to dance, isn’t that normal?” Lin Yi said.

“Other men can ask you to dance, but no woman can ask me to dance? You’re denying them my beauty!”

Ji Qingyan rolled her eyes. This seemed to make sense.

“Alright, I won’t pursue this matter.”

After resting for a while, Ji Qingyan went upstairs to take a shower while Lin Yi lay on the sofa.

“This is for you. Go take a shower.”

Ji Qingyan stood on the second floor and threw a towel at Lin Yi.

“No way, do you want to take a shower now? I’m not ready yet.”

“Pervert, you have no shame.” Ji Qingyan spat. “Go take a shower in the bathroom downstairs.”

“I’ll go later, I don’t want to move now.”

“You’re so lazy.” She pouted. “I put your pajamas in your room, don’t forget to change later.”

“Got it. Go take a shower and stop nagging.”

“Hmph, you’re the one who’s nagging.”

Ji Qingyan ignored Lin Yi and went into the bathroom.

After a busy day, Lin Yi lazily took a shower. He then brushed his teeth in the bathroom and then went back to his room to sleep.

Over the next week, Lin Yi’s life was relatively peaceful. There were no changes in the school’s class schedule.

His mission was already at 15/20. According to the schedule, he would be able to complete the task in three days.

Apart from that, the Lingyun Foundation had officially started operating.

Within a week, eight orphanages had received a total of 6.89 million from the Lingyun Foundation.

Among these eight orphanages was the Blue Sky Welfare Institute, where Lin Yi used to live.

Apart from that, the Lingyun Foundation also planned to help 24 orphanages in the next month, spending a total amount of 20 million dollars.

Although the money was spent like running water, it was a gratifying experience for Lin Yi.

The foundation had been officially started, and Lingyun Capital had officially started operating. There were already two companies that had received a total of 24 million dollars via angel investment from Lingyun capital.

As for the future earnings, no one knew.

Lin Yi never thought that he would make a profit from these companies.

Investing capital was a gamble. Even if he lost out, it would be nothing out of the ordinary.

What really caught Lin Yi’s attention was that the progress of the few projects at Longxin wasn’t as fast as he had imagined.

During this period of time, Sun Fuyu and Lu Ying were extremely busy.

The two of them flew to more than ten cities around the world to recruit people for the photolithography project.

They had already contacted 28 top experts in the chip field to develop the photolithography project together.

However, it was far from enough to rely on these people. The two of them were still working hard on this matter.

According to He Yuanyuan’s report, in just this one week, Lingyun Capital’s expenses had reached 100 million!

Even a senior CFO like her felt that this was an astonishing figure.

Only Lin Yi didn’t think much of it. The money he spent would return soon, so there was no need to worry.

He got up in the morning and drove to school.

“Good morning, Brother Lin,” Song Jia said.

“Why are you always earlier than me?” Lin Yi greeted with a smile.

“Actually, Sister Su is here too, but she went to a meeting,” Song Jia said. “Oh right, Brother Lin, Sister Su told me to tell you that you have to substitute for the second period of swimming class in the morning.”

“Huh? Substitute for swimming class?”

“That’s what Sister Su said. I think it’s Director Wang from the Physical Education Research Group who asked you to substitute for her.”

Lin Yi, “???”

Were all the female students in the teachers’university crazy?

They asked him to take the aerobics class, and now they were asking him to handle the swimming class.

What a bunch of angels!

“Lin Bro, why do you look so bitter? Most of the students in the swimming class are female. This is a good opportunity for you to feast your eyes.” Song Jia said with a wink.

“Let me tell you a little secret. After Sun Xiaoyu graduated, the new campus belle of the university also signed up for swimming class. Hehe…”

“Who cares if there is a campus belle or not?” Lin Yi said nonchalantly. “I just love education.”

“Lin Bro, you’re too good at pretending,” Song Jia complained. “You even act like you dislike the campus belle. Wang Ran is very pretty.”

“What’s the use of being pretty? Isn’t it all the same if you turn off the lights?”

“But her figure is about the same as Sis Su’s, and… Ah, ah, ah, ah, Lin Bro, why are you leaving? I’m not finished yet.”

“I’m going to prepare for class.”
