Immortality Through Array Formations

Chapter 2531: Chapter 30: Omen of Death (Part 3)

Elder Ji, with perceptive eyes, poured a cup of tea for Mo Hua, ”Young Master Mo, it’s so late, why are you not learning Formation but out here?”

Mo Hua glanced at Elder Ji and asked, ”What have you been up to these days?”

Elder Ji looked serious, ”The world is in chaos now, danger lurks everywhere. I’ve been out gathering intelligence these past days...”

Mid-sentence, he suddenly realized that lying was useless in front of Mo Hua, so he candidly confessed:

”I went looking for women.”

Mo Hua’s gaze turned cold, ”Did you replenish?”

”No, no,” Elder Ji hurriedly responded, ”It’s mutual consent, has nothing to do with replenishing.”

Mo Hua was skeptical, ”Mutual consent?”

Elder Ji replied, ”I gave her Spirit Stones, she was willing, I was willing, mutual consent.”

Mo Hua was puzzled, ”Does such a place exist here in Little Post City?”

Elder Ji looked smug, ”Young Master Mo, you don’t understand, such places exist everywhere. It’s just that outsiders can’t see them. I’m different; I’m an old hand at this. Wherever I go, just a sniff of my nose and I can smell the fragrance of cosmetics...”

Mo Hua looked at him indifferently, ”You’re quite proud of yourself?”

Elder Ji hastily said, ”It’s a trivial skill, not worth mentioning, not proud, not proud...”

Mo Hua asked again, ”That Young Master Shi you met earlier, did you also meet him in ’that kind of place’?”

Elder Ji sighed, ”That Young Master Shi is also a fellow in the Dao; we get along well. However, he’s a bit strange, looks but doesn’t eat, speaks with eloquence but simply doesn’t touch a single girl, wasting that handsome face...”

At this point, Elder Ji sneaked a glance at Mo Hua, thinking to himself that the one truly wasting a good face was actually the Young Master Mo in front of him.

If only he had that face, what kind of woman in the world couldn’t he fool?

Even if the bedroom door was left slightly ajar, surely there would be women climbing onto the bed like fish.

What a pity that this Young Master Mo, possessing a good face, doesn’t use it for the right path, only knows how to draw formations every day...

Truly a waste...

Elder Ji felt a sense of regret in his heart.

Mo Hua, however, couldn’t be bothered with Elder Ji.

This Elder Ji was simply this kind of person.

As long as he didn’t force women into prostitution or forcibly replenish, Mo Hua didn’t care about other messy matters.

Mo Hua simply said, ”Be careful not to die on a woman’s body.”

Elder Ji laughed, ”If I die under the peony, it will be a worthy ghost. If I can die on a woman’s body in this life, it would be a good end.”

Mo Hua sipped his tea and returned to reading and learning formations.

Elder Ji saw Mo Hua truly didn’t care about him, felt as if granted amnesty, happily went out the door to seek pleasure somewhere.

...

Time quickly passed by.

Four days later, Manager Wang received news, saying he had obtained a Map from the posthouse, charting the route from Li State to Great Desert City.

Mo Hua then went to the storeroom to see Manager Wang.

This time, he didn’t plan to stay long. Having received the Map, he intended to leave Little Post City soon to head for Great Wilderness.

Manager Wang secretly handed the Map to Mo Hua, instructing:

”Young Master Mo, I’ve given you the Map, but you mustn’t say you got this Map from me. Otherwise, I might be implicated and suffer great misfortune...”

”Hmm,” Mo Hua nodded, ”Don’t worry.”

Only then did Manager Wang breathe a sigh of relief.

He personally saw Mo Hua off to the door.

As Mo Hua bid farewell to Manager Wang and turned away, he suddenly noticed Manager Wang’s previously fine forehead slowly turning black.

Moreover, it was intensely black, with an air of death.

Mo Hua’s pupils shrank, sensing a possibility but still uncertain.

Manager Wang saw Mo Hua staring at him, brows furrowed, feeling inexplicably uneasy, and quietly asked:

”Young Master Mo, what’s this about...”

Mo Hua contemplated for a moment, eventually slowly speaking:

”Manager Wang, your... forehead is darkening, as if there’s an omen of death in the near future...”

Manager Wang was stunned, feeling Mo Hua was cursing him, and felt displeased, but due to Mo Hua’s status, he didn’t show it on his face, only awkwardly smiled.

Mo Hua saw through Manager Wang’s thoughts and earnestly said, ”I’m not joking with you, you truly have a great catastrophe coming soon.”

Manager Wang was taken aback, skeptically nodded.

Mo Hua could only say this much.

He had lightly calculated earlier, but felt a haze; what kind of catastrophe Manager Wang would face, he couldn’t say now.

He could only say, ”Be more careful.” Then he left.

Leaving the storeroom, stepping onto the bustling street, Mo Hua still pondered over Manager Wang’s ”omen of death” on his forehead.

Lost in thought, he eventually raised his head and was shocked.

On the bustling street of Little Post City, cultivators coming and going, without exception, all had darkened foreheads, emitting death signs.

Mo Hua felt a chill, immediately realizing this wasn’t just Manager Wang’s situation, but that nearly all cultivators in Little Post City were facing a ”death calamity” disaster.

Mo Hua’s brow furrowed, and he immediately returned to the inn, calling Elder Ji.

Elder Ji seemed to have enjoyed another night, his face a bit pale, but fortunately his forehead was white, without any death signs.

”Something’s not right,” Mo Hua said.

Elder Ji didn’t understand, ”What’s not right?”

Mo Hua was about to speak but suddenly realized that certain heavenly secrets cannot be revealed, as uttering them might change fate.

Mo Hua said, ”Let’s leave the city first.”

Whatever is happening in Little Post City, he wasn’t clear on yet; he could only try to leave the city first, ensuring his own safety before strategizing his next move.

Elder Ji was aware that Mo Hua had some eerie abilities, thus without doubt, he nodded and said:

”Alright.”

The two of them drove a carriage towards the city gate, but were stopped upon arrival.

The cultivator guarding the gate said, ”Nearby cultivators have rioted, several Immortal Cities have fallen. Right now, only Little Post City remains relatively stable.”

”Therefore, to ensure the safety of cultivators inside the city, no cultivators are allowed in or out for three days.”

Elder Ji still thought about requesting leniency but was refused.

Mo Hua looked up at the city wall of Little Post City, noticing it was filled with alert, stealth-breaking and defensive formations.

Not far away, a powerful Golden Core Cultivator was stationed.

Mo Hua understood.

The entire Little Post City was sealed; not a single cultivator within could escape...
