Milf Hunter: Seducing And Taming Beauties

Chapter 1138: Fumiko’s Game: Exposing the Heart

Kasumi’s eyes flashed with anger, her hands clenching into fists. ”Fumiko, that’s enough!” she hissed, her voice trembling with fury. ”Jack is nothing like that! He’s kind, and respectful, and— and he cares about Haruna! If you say one more word against him, I swear—!”

Fumiko grinned triumphantly, leaning back with a satisfied sigh. ”There it is.” She pointed at Kasumi, her voice soft but firm.

”That’s how I know, Kasumi. You’re defending him. Fiercely.” She paused, her gaze sharp. ”A mother doesn’t get this angry unless she cares. And you, my dear friend... You care a lot. You love him, don’t you?”

Kasumi froze, her breath catching in her throat. ”W-What are you talking about?!” she stammered, but her voice lacked conviction, her cheeks still flushed with anger and something deeper.

Fumiko smiled, her voice gentle but unyielding. ”Kasumi, listen to me.” She reached out, her hand pressing against Kasumi’s knee.

”I’ve known you for years. I’ve seen you happy, I’ve seen you sad, I’ve seen you angry... but I’ve never seen you like this.” She paused, her eyes softening. ”You’re flustered. You’re defensive. You’re blushing every time his name comes up. And you hate that I’m right.”

Kasumi swallowed hard, her mind racing. [She’s... she’s not wrong...] But the shame was too much. ”Fumiko... I don’t— I can’t—” Her voice broke, her eyes flickering toward the door, as if sensing my presence.

Fumiko leaned in closer, her lab coat shifting as she rested her elbows on her knees, her cleavage pressing together in a way that was both professional and distractingly alluring. ”So you really do love him?” she asked again, her voice soft but insistent.

”See, you can’t even defend yourself.” Her fingers tapped lightly against her chin, her eyes sharp and knowing. ”You’re trembling, Kasumi. You’re blushing. You’re avoiding his name like it burns your lips.”

Kasumi’s tears spilled over, dripping down her cheeks as she shook her head violently. ”No... I can’t love him... He is my daughter’s... fiancé...” Her voice was a broken whisper, her hands clutching at her kimono so tightly her knuckles turned white.

”How am I supposed to...?” The pain in her voice was raw, unfiltered, as if the words themselves were tearing her apart.

I used my telepathy to tune into Fumiko’s thoughts, and what I heard painted a clearer picture of her intentions.

[I knew it... The way her eyes keep darting to him, the way her body tenses whenever he’s near... She’s fighting it, but it’s written all over her. But how can I help her as a psychologist? If this were a normal case, I could just tell her to cut off contact with Jack and let him and Haruna be together. But Kasumi’s different...]

[She’s been through so much. Loneliness, heartbreak... And now, for the first time in years, she’s alive again. And it’s because of Jack. Not her daughters—though she loves them—it’s him. She just doesn’t realize it yet...]

[Maybe I need to distract her. Make her see this isn’t love... not yet. It’s just care. It’s just gratitude. She’s confusing the two...]

Fumiko took a deep breath, her expression softening as she reached out, her hand gently lifting Kasumi’s chin so their eyes met. ”Kasumi, here... look at me...” Her voice was warm, soothing, like a balm over an open wound.

”Don’t cry... You did nothing wrong... Why are you crying? Is there something wrong with loving someone?”

Kasumi shook her head, her tears still falling. ”But he is my son-in-law...” Her voice was thick with despair, as if the words themselves were a sin she couldn’t forgive herself for.

Fumiko sighed, her fingers brushing away a tear from Kasumi’s cheek. ”Kasumi...” she began, her voice gentle but firm.

”I think... you’re confusing care with love.” She paused, her eyes searching Kasumi’s face.

”You’ve been alone for so long... and then Jack came into your life. He cares for you, doesn’t he? He spoils you, looks after you...” Her hand moved to Kasumi’s shoulder, squeezing lightly. ”And you... You’ve taken that care and mistaken it for love.”

Kasumi looked down, her fingers twisting the fabric of her kimono. ”But... it feels like love...” she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Fumiko smiled softly, her thumb tracing circles on Kasumi’s shoulder. ”Of course it feels like love, Kasumi. When someone treats you with kindness after so long... It’s easy to mistake it for something deeper.”

She leaned in, her voice dropping to a whisper. ”But ask yourself this... If Jack weren’t Haruna’s fiancé... if he were just a man you met by chance... would you still feel this way?”

Kasumi froze, her breath hitching. The question hung in the air, heavy and unanswered.

Fumiko continued, her tone gentle but persistent. ”Or is it just that... for the first time in years, someone is looking at you? Seeing you? Not as a mother, not as a widow... but as a woman?”

She paused, her eyes softening. ”That’s a powerful thing, Kasumi. It can feel like love... when really, it’s just loneliness finally being filled.”

Kasumi bit her lip, her mind racing. [Is she right? Am I just... lonely?]The thought stung, but it also felt like a weight lifted. ”But... what if it is love?” she whispered, her voice trembling.

Fumiko chuckled softly, shaking her head. ”Oh, Kasumi...” She squeezed Kasumi’s shoulder. ”If it is love... then you’ll know. And you’ll have to decide what to do about it.” She paused, her gaze turning serious. ”But for now... just breathe. You don’t have to figure it all out today.”

Kasumi nodded, her tears slowing, her breath steadying. The confusion was still there, but the panic had eased. ”Thank you, Fumiko...” she murmured, her voice small but sincere.

Fumiko smiled, standing up and adjusting her lab coat. ”Anytime, Kasumi. That’s what friends are for.” She paused, her eyes flickering toward the door—right where I was standing.

”And Kasumi...” Her voice turned playful. ”If you do decide it’s love... well... just be careful. Men like Jack... they have a way of complicating things.”

Kasumi blushed, her eyes darting to the door as well, as if she knew I was there. ”Fumiko...” she warned, but there was no real anger in her voice.

Fumiko laughed, the sound rich and warm. ”Alright, alright. Let’s finish your check-up before Jack starts wondering where we’ve disappeared to.”
