War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

“How unexpected! Previously, when I learned about Bodiless Celestials, the thought of our dragon clan having Bodiless Celestials did cross my mind. Who knew our clan really has Bodiless Celestials!”

“Moreover, the Bodiless Celestial from our dragon clan is a Five Tribulation Bodiless Celestial!”

“However, for some reason, I don’t feel extremely proud or happy that our dragon class has a Five Tribulation Bodiless Celestial…”

“That’s only natural. Our dragon clan’s Five Tribulation Bodiless Celestial was forced to kneel and kowtow by the Sect Leader of Seven Absolutes Sect. We have our pride so how can we feel happy?”

Many of those from the dragon clan were in an uproar when they learned about the existence of a Bodiless Celestial in their clan. Most of them were angry that Duan Ling Tian, the Sect Leader of Seven Absolutes Sect, had forced their clan’s Bodiless Celestial to kneel and kowtow.

Many of these members from the dragon clan were unaware of the existence of Bodiless Celestials in their clan because the dragon clan was divided into an outer and inner clan. The members from the outer clan were cultivators at or below the Eminent Stage. Let alone the existence of Bodiless Celestials, all of the members from the outer clan, barring a few high-ranking officials, were unaware that the Bodiless Celestials in the clan were segregated into two groups. One group was those Bodiless Celestials from the dragon clan, and the second group was those who were forcefully brought back to the clan.

The dragon clan’s estate was divided into three parts. The first part housed the outer clan, the second part housed the inner clan, and the third part housed the Bodiless Celestials who were forcefully brought back. Based on this, one could see that all the Bodiless Celestials from the dragon clan belonged to the inner clan.

Most people thought the dragon clan only had one patriarch. In truth, there were two patriarchs in the dragon clan. One was the patriarch whom most people knew. He was the outer clan leader and was at the Ninth Form of the Saint Celestial Stage. The second patriarch was the inner clan leader who governed the Bodiless Celestials. Needless to say, the inner clan leader was the true patriarch of the dragon clan.

For generations now, the inner clan leader had always been the strongest in the dragon clan. This world was one that placed great importance on strength and the dragon clan was no exception. Only the strongest Bodiless Celestial in the dragon clans would be able to become the true Patriarch and inner clan leader of the dragon.

Since the news had spread to the outer clan of the dragon clan, it was only natural that the news had also spread to the inner clan. They were all shaken by the news. Many of them began to mock Di Chen for his cowardice.

“Di Chen kneeled and kowtowed to Duan Ling Tian to beg for forgiveness?”

“He’s an embarrassment to the dragon clan!”

“He’s a coward!”

“Di Chen’s reputation would have remained untarnished if he had chosen his dignity over his life. However, since he’s a coward and chose his life, he’ll have to live with this infamy!”

“As Seven-clawed Golden Dragon from the Imperial Family of our dragon clan, Di Chen actually acted in such a manner. He has really humiliated our clan!”

“If I were him, I would’ve committed suicide by banging my head on a wall. How dare he return to the clan!”

“Lower your voice! If the Supreme Elder hears your words, you’ll be punished!”

Although many of the members from the dragon clan mocked Di Chen, they would inevitably fall silent when they remembered Di Chen’s father was the Supreme Elder of the dragon clan. The dragon clan had three Supreme Elders. These three Supreme Elders were the strongest after the inner clan leader of the dragon clan. For this reason, they were given a lot of authority in the clan. They could kill a Bodiless Celestial in the sect and they do not even have to report it to the inner clan leader. How could they not fall silent when they remembered Di Chen’s father was a Supreme Elder?

…

In the inner clan. In a courtyard located in a valley with singing birds and fragrant flowers.

This place was the residence of Di Chen, the Seven-clawed Golden Dragon.

In a room behind a courtyard, a man sat cross-legged on a bed as another man stood by the bed, gazing at the former with a somber expression on his face as though he was deep in thoughts.

The man who was sitting on the bed was Di Chen.

The man standing by the bed was a tall and muscular middle-aged man. His brows and features looked similar to Di Chen. It was as though he and Di Chen were carved out of the same mold. If the other members from the dragon clan were around, they would recognize this man as Di Huan, the Supreme Elder of the dragon clan.

“Father, no!” Di Chen who was sitting on the bed was ashen-faced as he said, “This enmity… I truly can’t let go of it! The only way to resolve this is if Duan Ling Tian dies!” A hint of unwillingness could be heard in his voice, and his eyes were cold

“Duan Ling Tian!” Di Huan’s eyes flashed with killing intent when he heard Duan Ling Tian’s name. A great force swept out from his body, causing the furniture in the bedroom to move.

“Father, you have to help me kill him! I want him dead! I want him dead!” Di Chen pleaded as he looked at Di Huan hopefully. If Duan Ling Tian did not die, his heart would not be at ease, and the obsession and demons in his heart would only grow stronger.

Di Huan’s eyes flashed viciously. After a while, he said hesitantly, “Chen’er, father knows that you hate Duan Ling Tian… However, a few years ago, our patriarch has already asked Elder An to investigate if Duan Ling Tian is a Nine-clawed Dragon Warrior. I want to kill him to help you vent your anger, but I’m afraid the patriarch…” He did not finish his sentence since he knew his son understood what he wanted to say.

“Father!” Di Chen cried out anxiously, “Six months! I have six months left before I have to face the Bodiless Celestial Tribulation! I’ll certainly die if I don’t get rid of this obsession and demons in my heart! Father, are you going to watch me get killed by the Bodiless Celestial Tribulation?” He had a stubborn expression on his face as he continued to say, “The patriarch hasn’t even confirmed if Duan Ling Tian is a Nine-Clawed Dragon Warrior… Even if you kill him now, the patriarch wouldn’t do anything to you! There’s no reason for the patriarch to punish you at all for this!”

Di Huan’s eyes brightened like stars in the sky when he heard Di Chen’s words. His son’s words were reasonable. Since the patriarch was not even sure if Duan Ling Tian was a Nine-Clawed Dragon Warrior, it did not matter if he killed Duan Ling Tian. He could kill Duan Ling Tian and destroy his corpse first. Even if the patriarch found out about it later, there was nothing the patriarch could do. After all, he was only avenging his son.

“It’s true that those who are involved can’t see the big picture…” Di Huan muttered to himself. He had been hesitating earlier due to his fear of the patriarch. Although he was a Seven Tribulation Bodiless Celestial and one of the strongest powerhouses in the dragon clan, the patriarch could kill him easily. For this reason, he did not dare to go against the patriarch’s wishes. If he killed Duan Ling Tian, it could be considered as going against the patriarch’s will. However, Di Chen’s words had enlightened him.

“Chen’er, I’ll leave the dragon clan to look for Duan Ling Tian now. I’ll kill him to seek revenge for you!” Di Huan said as he looked at Di Chen affectionately.

“Father!” Di Chen’s eyes lit up immediately. Even in his joy, he did not forget to remind his father solemnly, “Father, when I fought with Duan Ling Tian, the strength he displayed is comparable to a Six Tribulation Bodiless Celestial. I’m not sure if he’s as strong as a Seven Tribulation Bodiless Celestial!”

“I’ve already thought about this,” Di Huan said, “I plan to invite your Uncle Zhou and Uncle Qin to come along with me to seek revenge from Duan Ling Tian! Unless Duan Ling Tian’s as strong as Sword Saint Feng Qing Yang, he’ll definitely die! It’s, naturally, impossible for him to be as strong as Sword Saint Feng Qing Yang…”

Di Huan continued to say, “I’m sure you’ve read the record that’s handed down from the ancestor of the dragon clan. At that time, not only was Sword Saint Feng Qing Yang able to kill an Eight Tribulation Bodiless Celestial, but he was also a match for a Nine Tribulation Bodiless Celestial even though he was just an Eminent Celestial. This is because he had a fortuitous encounter when he entered an Otherworldly Secret Zone!”

“Uncle Qin?” Di Chen’s eyes brightened. The Uncle Qin his father mentioned was even stronger than his father. He was an Eight Tribulation Bodiless Celestial! He burst out laughing.

…

After a month.

On an unknown snow-capped mountain in the northern region.

On this day, The Seven Absolutes Sect’s temporary estate welcomed back the Nangong twins, the successors of the Didymus Progeny, and Han Xue Nai, the successor of the Red Dust Progeny. It was supposed to be a day where Duan Ling Tian would be able to meet his old friends.

However, Han Xue Nai brought back tragic news with her; Gu Li and the Yue Wu Ying, the successors of the Kratos Progeny and the Dark Shadow Progeny, the Third and Fourth Absolutes respectively, were dead.
