War Sovereign Soaring The Heavens

In the Fire Worship Sect, and the cultivation place of Gan Ru Yan, the new Sect Leader of Fire Worship Sect.

In the courtyard of a spacious mansion on a large floating island, two extremely beautiful women were seated in front of a stone table. Both of them were talking and laughing, looking as close as sisters.

On the other side, a purple-clad young man was teaching swordplay to a young girl.

The purple-clad young man and the young girl were none other than Duan Ling Tian and his daughter, Duan Si Ling. Meanwhile, the two beautiful girls who were talking and laughing were Ke’er and Feng Tian Wu who had been at the Fire Worship Sect for a month now.

Although Ke’er and Feng Tian Wu had known about each other for a long time, they had only met for the first time when Feng Tian Wu came to the Fire Worship Sect. Since both of them were kind and considerate people, they got along very well. For those who did not know any better, they might even think the two women were sisters or very good friends who had known each other for years.

While Duan Si Ling was practicing her swordplay, she blinked her eyes and deliberately asked Duan Ling Tian, “Daddy, do you like mum or Aunty Tian Wu better?”

Duan Ling Tian was taken aback by Duan Si Ling’s question. He did not expect his daughter to ask such a question. When he recovered, he feigned anger and said, “What have you been learning? Why are you asking such a question? Continue practicing your swordplay!”

“Daddy, are you angry because you’re embarrassed?” Duan Si Ling said cheekily, disregarding Duan Ling Tian’s anger.

“If you’re not going to focus, I won’t teach you anymore in the future. You’ll have to ask your mum to teach you!” Duan Ling Tian said as he tried not to laugh at his daughter’s cheekiness. This was the only way his daughter would listen to him.

True enough, Duan Si Ling instantly surrendered and said with a deflated expression on her face, “Daddy, I’m wrong! I won’t do this anymore…”

“What won’t you do?” Duan Ling Tian asked teasingly.

“I won’t make fun of you anymore, daddy,” Duan Si Ling said with an exaggerated pout. It was not that Duan Si Ling thought her mother was inferior. However, her father was just too eye-catching with his sword techniques that she felt she would never reach such a level if she did not learn from her father.

Duan Ling Tian could not hold back his smile when he saw his daughter being so obedient, albeit reluctantly. He continued watching over Duan Si Ling as she practiced swordplay before his thoughts drifted to the other members of the Seven Absolutes Sect. ‘Apart from Tian Wu, Xue Nai and the others didn’t come to the Fire Worship Sect. It’s very likely that they don’t know that I’m still in the Fire Worship Sect.’

Up until now, he had only met Feng Tian Wu who was the successor of the Blazing Phoenix Progeny, the Fifth Absolute of the Seven Absolutes Sect. He had not met the other successors of the other Absolutes.

‘Should I release information that I’m in the Fire Worship Sect?’ He thought to himself. After a while, he shook his head. ‘No, that’s not wise. After all, the dragon and phoenix clans might think I killed Tang Xuan and appointed Gan Ru Yan as a puppet sect leader to gain control of the Fire Worship Sect! Although it’s said that the dragon and phoenix clans wouldn’t interfere as long as I don’t destroy the three great sects, I don’t think they’ll be very happy if they think that the Sect Leader of Seven Absolutes wants to gain control over the Fire Worship Sect.’ In the end, he decided it would not be wise to announce that he was in the Fire Worship Sect.

It did not take long before Duan Ling Tian came up with a solution to reunite with the other members of Seven Absolutes Sect. “It seems like I’ll have to find another place for all of us to reunite. I remember Tian Wu saying the Seven Absolutes Sect has a temporary base in the northern region of the Upper Province of the Dao Martial Saint Land. If Tian Wu and I ask for their return, I’m sure it won’t take long before all of us will be able to meet.”

Duan Ling Tian was about to speak to Feng Tian Wu regarding this when a thunderous voice rang in his ears, taking him by surprise.

It was Chen Yi Ru, Duan Ling Tian’s follower, who was a Bodiless Celestial. “Master, a Bodiless Celestial is approaching!”

“A Bodiless Celestial?!” Duan Ling Tian widened his eyes in shock.

Shortly after…

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

A majestic and oppressive force swept down from the sky. In just a blink of an eye, it covered much of the sky above the Saint Land of the Fire Worship Sect, alarming everyone.

“What a powerful aura! Who is it?”

“Who is it? How dare they act so brazenly in the Fire Worship Sect!”

“This aura… seems stronger than an Eminent Celestial’s aura. Is it a Bodiless Celestial? Could this person be Guardian Ling Tian’s follower as well?”

The four Guardians of Fire Worship Sect also detected this aura. Apart from them, even the vice sect leaders and some Golden and Silver Flame elders were alerted to it. All of them did not waste any time and flew out of their floating islands.

Meanwhile, Gan Ru Yan, the new Sect Leader of Fire Worship Sect, who was in closed-door cultivation was also alerted by the aura. Unlike the high-ranking officials who went to have a look at the source of the powerful aura, she instantly went to look for Duan Ling Tian.

“What’s happening?”

“It’s a Bodiless Celestial,” Duan Ling Tian said.

“Bodiless Celestial?” Gan Ru Yan was stunned before her expression changed drastically. “What’s a Bodiless Celestial doing in the Fire Worship Sect?”

At this moment, Chen Yi Ru seemed to appear out of thin air behind Duan Ling Tian. As soon as he appeared, he quickly said, “Master, I know him.”

“Oh?” Duan Ling Tian’s eyes gleamed, “Does this mean he’s from your time as well?”

“Yes,” Chen Yi Ru nodded and said, “Back then, I was ranked second on the Supreme Saint Ranking and he was ranked third! 4,000 years ago, he was one of the Guardians of Fire Worship Sect. His name is Li Bing.”

“Li Bing?” Duan Ling Tian seemed unaffected by Chen Yi Ru’s revelation, but Gan Ru Yan looked thunderstruck. “Li…Li Bing? H-he was a Guardian of the sect who failed the Celestial Ascension Tribulation 4,000 years ago! He’s still alive?” At this moment, she realized Li Bing was most likely a Four Tribulation Bodiless Celestial similar to Chen Yi Ru.

A hint of disbelief and confusion could be seen on her face as she murmured, “I thought all the Bodiless Celestials from our sect are being held by the dragon and phoenix clans?” She was aware of this since Chen Yi Ru had revealed to them the reason why the three great sects had no Bodiless Celestials. She was not surprised that there was a Bodiless Celestial from the Fire Worship Sect, but she was surprised at the fact that a Bodiless Celestial from the Fire Worship Sect was allowed to return to the sect.

“The dragon or phoenix clan might have sent him out on a mission and he decided to drop by the sect.” Chen Yi Ru had been a Bodiless Celestial for so long after all. He could, naturally, guess why Li Bing had suddenly appeared.

“He failed the Heavenly Tribulation 4,000 years ago?” Duan Ling Tian narrowed his eyes as he said coldly, “This means Li Bing is also a Four Tribulation Bodiless Celestial like you?”

Although Duan Ling Tian was not looking at Chen Yi Ru, Chen Yi Ru knew the question was directed at him. He hurriedly replied, “Yes.”

“Let’s go and meet him!” Duan Ling Tian flew up into the sky and left the floating island in just a blink of an eye.

Needless to say, Chen Yi Ru, Gan Ru Yan, Ke’er, Duan Si Ling, and Feng Tian Wu followed Duan Ling Tian as well.

Duan Ling Tian looked at a middle-aged man who was surrounded by the four Guardians of the Fire Worship Sect. He cocked an eyebrow and asked, “That’s Li Bing?”

Chen Yi Ru did not dare to make Duan Ling Tian wait so he replied immediately, “Yes, that’s him!”

“Ancestor!”

“Ancestor!”

At this moment, the four Guardians and the high-ranking officials of the Fire Worship Sect were bowing respectfully at Li Bing. It seemed like they knew Li Bing was a Guardian of Fire Worship Sect 4,000 years ago. It was only appropriate for them to address him as ancestor.

“Our Fire Worship Sect has Bodiless Celestials?”

“I thought our sect has no Bodiless Celestials.”

Li Bing scanned the crowd as he asked in a deep voice, “Who’s Gan Ru Yan?”

As soon as Li Bing spoke, the crowd instinctively turned to look at Gan Ru Yan who had just arrived with Duan Ling Tian.

Li Bing followed the crowd’s sight and it did not take long for him to spot Gan Ru Yan. He narrowed his eyes that were flashing coldly. “So you’re Gan Ru Yan?!”

“I’m Gan Ru Yan, the new Sect Leader of Fire Worship Sect. It’s an honor to meet you!” Gan Ru Yan reacted instantly. She bowed and greeted Li Bing as soon as he finished speaking.

“New sect leader?” Li Bing only sneered at Gan Ru Yan despite how respectful she was. Then, he glanced at her before he said loudly, “I declare that Gan Ru Yan is no longer the Sect Leader of Fire Worship Sect from today onward!”
