Chapter 950: End of the Pill Duel

”This is impossible,” Pill Sovereign Ric exclaimed, his face showing a shocked expression as he looked at the grey mark slowly appearing around Kent’s pill.

”Can’t say impossible, considering it is now plain before our eyes,” Pill Sovereign Okra said with an expression that couldn’t be read.

His gaze was directed at Kent, who had no idea what was going on through the Pill Sovereign’s head.

Pill Sovereign Ric looked at Pill Sovereign Bryn, who was watching Kent. Nobody could tell what was going on in his head. However, one thing was certain: he would never let Kent leave easily.

Even if Kent failed to form a Pill Ring, he would declare him the winner and use his power to make him stay.

If only he knew there was an asteroid with his name on it, he wouldn’t even dare think of playing dirty.

Meanwhile, Pill Saint Flura, who thought she had won, was now looking at Kent with wide eyes. In her years spent walking the Pill Path, she had never stopped to think a mere Pill Grandmaster would have the means to defeat her, and that her defeat would come in the form of a Pill Ring, something not even Pill Monarchs could brag they could easily do.

Even Pill Sovereigns couldn’t boldly claim they could form Pill Rings. Most only formed Pill Rings during the Pill Tribulations.

If the Pill Dao determined your pill’s worth, they could add a ring as a form of Pill Blessing.

However, not many could say they had the means to form their own Pill Rings and even to some extent do so while smiling with a relaxed face.

What Kent was doing defied common sense, leaving every onlooker in great shock.

Kent looked at Pill Saint Flura when there were only 20 more minutes for the 5-hour duration of the duel to end, and smiled.

”No need to look sour, young lady. The only reason why you are in this predicament is because you grew cocky, thinking you are better than everyone.” Kent formed a hand seal and pointed it at the pill, making the grey rings around the pill more visible now.

”I have to admit, you are a brilliant Alchemist, there is no doubt about that. However, until you are alone at the peak, never think you are better than everyone. Trust me, there are monsters hidden in sheep’s clothing looking at you with contempt and disgust.

So let this be a lesson to you. In the near future, no matter your achievements, regardless of your understanding in the Pill Path, whenever you feel like gloating, remember me, for I will forever be better than you.” Kent laughed.

If what Kent said sounded like motivation, then the last sentence shattered everything. His words made everyone who heard him enter a deep thought, but considering what Kent had achieved, some couldn’t help but wonder if they even had a future in the Pill Path.

But Kent wasn’t done. This time, he used the soul map to speak only to Pill Saint Flura.

”I hope you have learned your lesson from this defeat. We may be opponents, or to some extent enemies, but know that I came to accept your duel today because the Pill Dao willed it.

I knew you from nowhere, yet I was told to come accept your duel. Truly, this wasn’t a coincidence at all. So if you hate me, fine, I already have more haters than I could count, so adding you to the list is nothing.

However, know this: the fact that the Pill Dao sent me means they have their eyes on you. They recognised your potential, and that alone should tell you what you need to know.

We might never meet again, but even if we did, there is a feeling that you will become my senior. In that case, I hope you will one day find it in your heart to forgive this junior and see him as a worthy opponent.

Then again, the reason why you were defeated by me is that I am just too awesome.”

With a smile on Kent’s face, the flame ring around the pill dispersed, revealing a white pill with a grey ring around it.

”A low grey Pill Ring,” Pill Sovereign Ric muttered, appearing in the air over the stage. The other two Pill Sovereigns appeared a second later, each bearing a stunned expression.

”Little brother, do you perhaps want to sell this pill?” Pill Sovereign Ric said, waving his hand as the pill moved toward him.

Kent raised his head and looked at the Pill Sovereign, who held a ”better make the right choice, else you won’t be leaving here in one piece” gaze.

Kent saw this and smiled, ”Per the Ancient rules of Pill making, the winner of the duel has three decisions they can make.

First, they can either take their pill and leave, at which point the opponents or their organisation can do nothing about that.

Second, the winner can choose to gift the pill to their opponent. Whatever they do with that is none of his business.

Lastly, the winner can auction the pill, and the highest bidder gets to keep it.

However, since this Pill Alliance welcomed me with open arms, I can’t in good conscience choose options one and three, so I gift this pill to my opponents.”

Kent smiled slyly while the three Pill Sovereigns looked at Kent in a new light.

If there is one thing Alchemists respect, it is the rules set during Ancient times that are still being followed to the last detail.

The reason it is still being followed is that, through experience, it was discovered that these rules were enforced by the Pill Dao, so nobody dares go against them.

It is said that whenever someone invokes the Pill rules in their argument, they, in a subtle way, are telling everyone the Pill Dao is their witness, so going against them is not an option.

If now, the three Pill Sovereigns want to seize Kent and force him to join them, then that thought is now wiped from their heads.

However, since Kent had given the pill to someone from the Aerithyne Pill Alliance, it was akin to giving it to the Alliance, meaning he hadn’t offended anyone.

The three Pill Sovereigns looked at Pill Saint Flura, who was quick to let them have it.

”Great, because of your contribution to the Alliance, you can have a two-week audience with the Celestial Cloud Feather,” Pill Sovereign Bryn said before vanishing back to the 9th floor.

Everyone around was left stunned, unsure of what to make of it.

Kent won in the most shocking way possible, yet his opponent was just awarded a two-week audience with the Celestial Cloud Feather, said to enhance one’s understanding of their pill techniques.

Just studying their techniques in the presence of the Celestial Cloud Feather is enough to let them grow several years within a day.

For her to get two weeks is already too much.

While Kent was looking at where the Pill Sovereigns had gone, Pill Saint Flura stood up and offered the Pill Ascension Token to him with a slight bow.

”Thank you,” Kent said, receiving the token.

”No, I should thank you. In a way, you have helped me more than I could have ever expected. If we meet next time, I will be sure to pay you back.”

Without knowing the kind of payback she was talking about, Pill Saint Flura flew away and headed straight home to learn a technique she had been meaning to learn before coming to spend two weeks with the Celestial Cloud Feather.

Kent also left a few seconds later and met up with Lady Azela and the Pill Emperor.
