Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 596: The Ancient Race [Bonus]

Hearing Shax’s answer didn’t exactly shock Kent. He expected something like that, considering he was after such a powerful treasure.

However, he wondered about something that made him question many things he had been made aware of about the Dark Region.

’Unseal the Dark Region.’

But Vexthra once told him he had to send Li Hua there when she turned 16. That is in two years’ time. So if that was the case, then what happens to the place being sealed?

’Maybe she wasn’t aware it had been sealed. After all, it has been millions of years already since she ascended, so it is normal.’

But then one more question remained: Why was the place sealed?

That was a haunting question whenever somebody said they were trying to unseal a domain that had been sealed for a long time. Nothing good comes from that.

However, many go through thick and thin just to get something that has been sealed thousands, perhaps millions, of years ago to be unsealed. In the end, great calamity will befall everyone.

However, Kent wanted to do the same thing this time, mainly because he wanted to know what happened during the Ancient Battle of Parting and understand what went wrong that caused Elaine’s family to decline.

The Dark Region holds the answers...or so he thought.

”The Dark Region...” Kent asked thoughtfully, ”Why do you want to unseal it?”

Shax wanted to lie or perhaps not say anything, simply because even the little he knew was enough to be considered enough to destroy their plans. However, when Kent smiled, he wiped his mind of the thought of lying.

”We want to open the Dark Region to release the ancient race,” Shax said unwillingly. Of course, he had no choice in the matter to begin with.

If he dies, Elaine will bring him back.

But even if she can’t do that, Kent would just take his memories. So, hearing there was a chance to save his skin, he had to speak else—

”Go on, what else?” Kent asked. ”I want to know the plan of this ancient race and hear about them too.”

Shax sighed.

”The ancient race was the most powerful race before the Parting. However, not many knew of them. Of course, our ancestors did, and that was when we became aware.

We recently discovered that they are hidden within the Dark Region, and it was due to a seal that had been activated for 25 thousand years already.

At first, we didn’t know their race, but we know they are the natural enemies of the Sea race.

I don’t know if you are aware, but the Sea people are the only race in this world that has multiple means to ascend out of this world without having to use the heavenly tribulation, which is nearly impossible to pass.

They have Ascension platforms. Of course, the dwarves, elves, and dwarves do too, but they each have one.

But since we demons don’t have one, we want to negotiate nicely with the sea race to allow us to use just one of their Ascension platforms. However, they reply with hostility, and because we are weak against them, we have to go to this extreme.

Since we discovered that the ancient race was a natural enemy of the sea race, we wanted to unseal and ask for their help to get what we wanted.

”Wait, an alliance of five demon states is afraid of a single race? Why, are you guys children?” Kent chuckled, but his remark made Shax grit his teeth.

Kent’s arrogance made him angry.

”You might not be aware since you live in a backwater continent, but one person from the Sea race can wipe out your entire four kingdoms in under an hour.

While you may seem arrogant, why don’t you travel to the other continents and experience real cultivation? Or do you think having some success in the ancient battlefield of parting makes you the strongest in the world?

Let me tell you, had it not been for the shadows getting locked, I would have killed every single one of these ladies.”

”Oh... girls, we have a feisty one on our hands,” Kent laughed, and his wives weren’t far behind. They looked amused, hearing such a brag.

Of course, he was right to call the human continent a backwater continent. Humans are truly pitiful since the only race that made them powerful was Elaine’s family.

But after the curse, as they declined, so did the humans. So the humans are indeed a bunch of weak cultivators. But the same cannot be said of the other five races.

But hearing that the sixth, hidden under the sea, is that strong, Kent’s blood was rather boiling at the thought of clashing with them.

”First of all, you are right to call humans weak. They are indeed weak. But looking down on me and my women, trust me, if I want, I can match your demon state and bring it to its knees.

However, I am a pacifist, so I hate slaughter. But that doesn’t mean I am not interested in discovering how strong the Sea race is. However, they can wait.

Now, tell me more about the seal.”

Kent knows the two ways to ascend to a high world.

The first is using the tribulation, which will open a door to enter a higher world after you pass. The second is the ascension platforms.

They are like teleportation devices that send one to a higher world connected to the platform.

However, after the Ancient Battle of Parting, this platform went extinct. Of course, the Dragons have one, and so do the elves and dwarves.

However, they don’t allow the other races, mainly the demons and Beastkin, to use it. The beasts are much more powerful, so they prefer tribulation despite the grim success rate.

As for the demons who don’t want to risk it, they sought access to one of the many ascension platforms the Sea people have.

It’s too bad they weren’t allowed to enter their domain and were even slaughtered. Now, they want to take extreme measures, and perhaps they will gain something from it.

The only questions now are: What is this seal? Also, who mounted this seal, and most importantly, why? Kent wants answers to all this, and he knew Shax had those answers.

Kent observes Shax going through many internal struggles, and he can only smile and wait. After spending a few minutes battling his inner demons, he finally speaks.

”The seal is something mounted by the then Patriarch of the Wynthrall family... It was the curse he placed on his people before ascending...”
