Earth's Greatest Magus

Utopia City, a youthful metropolis, traces its roots back a mere 200 years when it was first settled. Despite its relatively short history, it has rapidly burgeoned into one of the Alpha Quadrant’s fastest-growing urban centers, boasting a populace exceeding 20 million within its borders and nearly 100 million scattered across the planet.

What sets Utopia City apart is its unique composition, divided between two contrasting communities. The western side is dominated by human civilization, while half-bloods and hybrids inhabit the eastern side. These communities formed the bedrock of the city’s development, each with its own deeply ingrained traditions and values.

Despite the founder’s lofty vision of a harmonious city where inhabitants coexisted under ideal conditions, the reality fell short of this utopian ideal. Tensions simmered between the two communities, often erupting into conflicts and disputes.

However, amidst the discord, there existed a common thread that bound the city together: the pursuit of profit. Despite their differences, both communities recognized the economic opportunities afforded by Utopia City’s abundant rare resources, strategic location, and strong backing from the Magus Alliance. This shared interest in prosperity helped mitigate the tensions to some extent, allowing the city to thrive.

Utopia City’s significance was underscored by its status as one of only six cities with direct access to the Magus Academy, further cementing its importance in the region.

On this particular day, Emery found himself amidst the bustling streets of Utopia City, his presence welcomed by the energetic pulse of the metropolis. However, unlike the grandeur of cities like Ceantauri or Golden City, Utopia City exuded a different charm. Its cobblestone streets and medieval-style architecture lent it a rustic appeal, albeit marred by signs of wear and grime.

As he stood in front of the portal gate, he couldn’t help but notice the stark contrast in the social standing of its inhabitants, evident from their varied appearances and demeanor. The wealthy elite traversed the streets in carriages adorned with lavish embellishments, their finely tailored attire and haughty demeanor setting them apart from the common folk. In stark contrast, impoverished citizens clad in tattered garments roamed the streets, their weary expressions a testament to their hardships.

Despite its less-than-glamorous appearance, amidst all the hustle and bustle, a palpable energy infused the air with a sense of vitality.

Without Klea to accompany him and Ashaka preoccupied with new acolytes, Emery decided to bring along two of his more popular acolytes: Damo and Dillion. He hoped their presence would lend credibility to his cause and perhaps even entice some half-bloods to consider joining his hall.

However, anticipating that they were venturing into unfamiliar territory, a city he had never visited before, Emery sought the company of an old friend, the reason they had been standing near the teleportation gate.

“Master, who is this friend of yours? What does he look like?” inquired Dillion, his curiosity piqued.

Before Emery could explain, the said friend arrived. “There she is,” Emery announced.

Damo and Dillion were momentarily taken aback by the sight of the woman before them. She was the epitome of beauty, with flawless features accentuated by an otherworldly pinkish hue to her skin. Dark blue locks cascaded down her shoulders, framing petite horns that adorned her head, while a tail swished gracefully behind her, adding to her enigmatic allure.

Damo and Dillion stood in stunned silence as they beheld the breathtaking sight before them. The woman who had just arrived was unlike anyone they had ever encountered. Her beauty was ethereal, her skin adorned with a mesmerizing pinkish hue that seemed to glow softly in the sunlight. Delicate horns protruded from her dark blue hair, adding an intriguing allure to her appearance, while a graceful tail swayed behind her with an air of defiance.

But what truly caught the young acolytes off guard was the woman’s reaction upon seeing Emery. With a joyful expression lighting up her features, she swiftly moved to embrace their master, her words dripping with a seductive tone as she murmured, “Master… I’ve missed you so much.”

Despite the unexpected display of affection, Emery remained composed, gently releasing himself from her embrace. However, there was a hint of warmth in his voice as he responded, “Nyx… I will need your assistance again today.”

“Of course, master,” Nyx replied, her voice filled with unwavering devotion. “Nyx will gladly follow any of your wishes.”

Nyxara, the hybrid woman with rare succubi heritage, had crossed paths with Emery five years ago in Centauri city. Since then, she has been a valuable ally, providing him with crucial information and support. They had even met a few times during Emery’s travels to establish a new apothecary store in the sector. Despite having seen her just a few months prior, Nyx’s innate charm, typical of succubi, never failed to leave an impression on Emery.

However, the truth of their relationship seemed lost on the two young acolytes.

“I thought Master Emery was in a relationship with Master Klea… I didn’t know he was such a charmer,” remarked Dillion to Damo, who was taken aback by the sight. As someone with a chivalrous personality, Dillion found such behavior disturbing, especially from someone he looked up to as an idol.

Even Damo found himself at a loss for words, his deep reverence for Klea clouding any potential explanations. The young monk viewed the Egyptian queen as a big sister figure, and as such, could only express his disappointment.

“My poor big sister, I will be your eyes and ears,” Damo declared solemnly.

“Yes, Master can’t succumb to such temptation,” added Dillion, his voice laced with concern.

The two acolytes exchanged a meaningful glance, silently scrutinizing Emery’s every move. Meanwhile, Emery could only sigh as he detected an ominous aura emanating from them.

Led by Nyx, the four entered the eastern side of Utopia, where the distinct presence of half-bloods and hybrids was palpable.

Unlike the human-dominated areas, where conformity seemed to be the norm, here, diversity was celebrated. Half-bloods and hybrids of all kinds walked proudly, their unique features on full display. Some had wings, others tails, and many bore intricate tattoos or markings that spoke of their heritage. Despite their differences, there was an unmistakable sense of unity among them

Damo and Dillion, both accustomed to the discrimination faced by lower-realm inhabitants, found themselves appreciating the wonder of the diverse surroundings and blending in more easily. As for Emery, such sights reminded him of the grandeur of the Zodiac city.

Their journey led them to one of the most magnificent buildings in the area, a fortress-like structure that seemed to rise majestically from the ground, adorned with intricate carvings that spoke of its significance.

“This is our destination, the Zodiac outpost,” Nyx announced,
