Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2100: Challenge

Emery stood firm, as much as he wished to, he couldnʼt just make the first move and beat them without a cause; hence, he offered a solution.

”If you truly seek to claim this valuable corpse, you are welcome to do so... However, itʼs undeniable that weʼve done a large share of the work in subduing this beast. Therefore, letʼs settle this matter fairly through a spar. One-on-one combat—winner takes the claim.”

The Ancient Desolate Beast Corpse held immense worth, laden with tier 5 and 6 materials, with the tantalizing possibility of even tier 7 treasures lurking within. VIA swiftly calculated its value at a staggering 7 to 8 million spirit stones, contingent on the condition of its innards. Such riches rivaled those of tier 7 artifacts, presenting a lucrative opportunity for any Magus even a Grand Magus-level individual.

But beyond its material value, Emeryʼs proposition offered something more profound—a chance for the Kux faction to dominate their detested half-blood adversaries. It was an invitation to settle scores and assert superiority, wrapped in the guise of a fair contest.

”Both my seniors here will be guarding the formations; I will take on any of you,”

Seeing Emeryʼs previous strength and the fact Magus Tobin was still recovering, the two, Tobin and Beatrice, allowed Emery to proceed.

”So do you dare?” Emery said the words while purposely gazing at Edgar, the angered Kux noble. This led to the arrogant Edgar accepting the challenge without even waiting for the grand magusʼ decision.

All played out as he expected; the full moon ʼeliteʼ magus was confident enough to beat up this ʼjuniorʼ half-blood to a pulp. ”I will beat you up!! So you will learn some manners!”

This Edgar wasnʼt just any run-of-the-mill Magus; he was honed and cultivated by a Grade 4 faction. This faction has multiple supreme magus as their leader, along with dozens of grand magus serving as elders, their resources were bountiful.

With a swift motion, the man unleashed his strength, conjuring a fierce torrent of wind that surged around him. Strengthening his arms, he assumed a martial art stance, his focus honed on three extended fingers—a telltale sign of the Kux factionʼs specialty technique, the [Divine Eagle Claw].

Harnessing his profound understanding of the wind element, the noble propelled himself forward, riding the turbulent gust with expert precision. His movements were fluid as he executed a series of claw strikes known as the [Wind and Cloud Strikes].

Despite the seemingly graceful nature of his attacks, each strike carried with it a ferocious power. Emery, attempting to evade using his [Dao step] technique, found his efforts thwarted. In a blur of motion, the nobleʼs Eagle Claws found their mark, delivering multiple devastating strikes that swiftly dislocated Emeryʼs shoulder bones.

Quick to react, Emery countered with a defensive spell, invoking the power of plants and earth to create a protective shield [Sylvan Armor - Tier 5]. With a commanding gesture, vines and roots sprang to life, weaving around him to form a formidable barrier against the nobleʼs onslaught.

”Haha! Is that the best you can do?” taunted Edgar as he elevated his technique to another level. His fingers began to glow with a vivid green light, imbued with additional power capable of tearing through Emeryʼs defensive armor.

In response, Emery tapped into his latent abilities, initiating his wolf transformation. Silvery fur sprouted from his four limbs, enhancing his speed and bolstering his strength, allowing him to deflect the incoming onslaught of claws.

Despite the appearance of being at a disadvantage, Emery remained composed. Concealing his true strength, he permitted the noble to believe he had the upper hand. This strategic decision served multiple purposes; it bought precious time for Herogar and maintained the nobleʼs dignity.

While Emery possessed the capability to overpower his opponent swiftly, he refrained from doing so, recognizing that humiliating the young master would not be a wise move. Moreover, Emery needed to prepare for the possibility that they would refuse to honor the terms of their bet, requiring him to maintain a strategic advantage.

Unfortunatly, Emeryʼs charade could only be sustained for 15 minutes before the Grand Magus uncovered his deception.

”You dare to toy with us!” The Grand Magusʼs voice reverberated with fury as he realized Emeryʼs ruse. In a fit of anger, he commanded the two junior Magus to join the fray. Suddenly, Emery found himself encircled by three adversaries, each wielding the power of the wind element. They moved with the coordinated precision of three bird predators closing in on their quarry, their attacks relentless and unforgiving.

Magus Beatrice was poised to intervene and lend aid, but Tobin held her back. ”let him fight...”

”But... that bastard! Theyʼre cheating!”

Not only did it turn into three against one, but upon seeing Emery still able to evade their coordinated attack, the grand magus gave another command. Suddenly, multiple runes started to glow on his four limbs. It was a spell cast by the Kux formation expert, aiming to restrain Emery and bring him to his knees.

”Now! Break all of his bones!” The Grand Magusʼs order rang out.

Aware that he could no longer stall for time, Emery revealed his true strength. The silvery fur adorning his limbs transformed into a deep, lustrous black, while his hair turned white, a visual manifestation of the raw power coursing through him.

[Twilight Transformation]

With a fierce growl, Emery surged forward, shattering free from the magical restraints with a burst of sheer force. Before the Grand Magus could react, Emery launched a counterattack, his movements a blur of speed and precision. His fists, wreathed in crackling energy, met their targets with bone-crushing force.

BAAM!! BAAM!! BAAM!!

Each blow sent shockwaves reverberating through the bodies of his adversaries.

With battle strength exceeding a grand magus level, a single punch was sufficient to send each junior magus tumbling to the ground. Meanwhile, amid Edgarʼs cries of pain, Emery swiftly restrained him. ṙ𝘈𐌽Ǒ𝐛Ёs̩
