Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2073: Anomaly

Emery found himself genuinely taken aback by Hardyʼs exceptionally low rank. As a noble from a grade 4 faction, such a circumstance was unprecedented. Even if the young man had minimal interest in cultivation, by the natural power of his home planet, simply breathing its air or consuming its resources should have given him a better rank.

What added to Emeryʼs astonishment was the complete lack of response from Hardy to the [Earth Cleansing Body] treatment. His body remained unaffected, showing no increase in spirit force or battle power. Perplexed by this anomaly, Emery attempted to delve deeper into Hardyʼs physiology, conducting multiple examinations to uncover any hidden causes.

Despite his efforts, Emery couldnʼt pinpoint any abnormalities in Hardyʼs body. The young manʼs physical condition appeared stable, with no signs of illness or irregularities. Determined to unravel the mystery, Emery extracts a blood sample for further analysis, hoping to find more answers.

Throughout the process, Hardy remained remarkably composed, his demeanor unwavering.

With a serene smile, he said, ”Donʼt worry, master. I have been like this since I was young.” He slowly put on his clothes and left the room as casually as he had entered.

Klea, who observed the entire process, provided some context to Hardyʼs situation.

Hardyʼs lineage was traced back to one of the most distinguished families within the Kaleos faction, a fact that had initially raised high hopes and expectations for his future. However, when he was 12, he was afflicted by a debilitating condition that stunted the growth of his spirit core. This unfortunate ailment rendered him unable to cultivate and left him marginalized within his own faction, considered a disabled individual, and ultimately forgotten by those who once held aspirations for his success.

Driven by concern for his nephewʼs carefree lifestyle and well-being, Anas, intervened and decided to send him to Hall 120 under Emeryʼs care.

Emery couldnʼt help but release a deep sigh, realizing the true reason behind the Kaleo factionʼs decision to send him to his hall.

The revelation sparked speculation and concern from both Emery and Klea. Given the circumstances, they couldnʼt dismiss the possibility of foul play, perhaps even poison being involved. Emery resolved to delve deeper into Hardyʼs medical history and blood samples, hoping to shed light on the mysterious affliction that plagued the young noble.

Next, Emery summoned the three half-blood acolytes.

While Bellana displayed eagerness, Blaine remained watchful. His gaze held a hint of suspicion, wary of Emeryʼs intentions. Meanwhile, Uloong seemed indifferent, casually munching on his snack as if the proceedings held little interest for him.

Blaineʼs air of distrust prompted him to begin his assessments with Uloong.

Recognizing the general physiology of the half-bloods, Emery opted for a different approach. He intended to conduct further studies before administering any treatment, especially considering the potential complexities inherent in their unique heritage.

In addition to the standard physical and spirit core assessments, Emery arranged for a blood gene test. Despite his limited knowledge of the boar bloodline and insectoids, his expertise as an apothecary master and familiarity with wolf blood gene formulas allowed him to delve deeper into their genetic makeup. With assistance from VIA, the advanced Artificial beings, he was able to glean comprehensive insights into their biological composition and potential.

After conducting the blood gene test on Ulong, VIA provided some intriguing insights into the unique lineage of the Metal Path 8 Palace Boar. It shared fragmented details about a formidable Grand Magus associated with this bloodline, renowned for being unbeatable and invincible. ŗâΝоᛒƐꞨ

However, despite this prestigious lineage, Ulongʼs aptitude fell at the lower end of the B range, accompanied by below-average statistics. Emery couldnʼt help but speculate whether Ulongʼs lackluster performance and indifferent attitude were contributing factors in his relegation from Corvinsʼs top hall.

Throughout the examination, Ulong remained nonchalant, seemingly unfazed by the proceedings as he leisurely indulged in his crunchy snack. ”I am done?... ok then,” he remarked casually, displaying minimal interest in the outcome of the assessment.

Before Ulong could leave, Emery handed him one of the high-grade spirit potions to aid in his training. Before Emery could finish his words, Ulong swiftly consumed the entirety of the high-grade spirit potion in a manner reminiscent of drinking a refreshing beverage.

”Yummm,... can I have more?”

”....Next week”

”Ok, thank you, master”

Finally, Emery turned to the two insectoid siblings. Blaine initially refused to be tested, but fortunately, with his little sisterʼs persuasion, Emery was able to conduct a full checkup on them.

As Emery delved into the results, meticulously analyzing the data, he couldnʼt help but marvel at the intricacies of the siblingsʼ spirits core. Despite their opposing elemental forces, he found a remarkably identical spirit signature between them.

This anomaly intrigued Emery, sparking a cascade of questions about their familial heritage and the unique dynamics of their bloodline. However, his inquiries were met with immediate defensiveness from Blaine, indicating a reluctance to discuss their background.

Yet, the older brotherʼs attention was refocused when Emery expressed concern about Bellanaʼs low physique and her stage at rank 1 of the bloodline. While Blaine brushed it off as commonplace, VIAʼs data suggested otherwise, indicating potential underlying issues that warranted attention.

Sensing the tension and reluctance to divulge further, Emery expressed his thoughts ”I would not force you to share, however, if you ever need my help, feel free to talk to me anytime.”

The younger sister, Bellana, appeared eager to unburden herself. Yet, Blaineʼs protective demeanor remained steadfast, his stance unwavering as Emery ushered his sister towards the exit.

As the siblings departed, Emery couldnʼt help but feel a twinge of concern lingering in the air. Nevertheless, Emery knew that trust was something to be earned.
