Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2055: Challenge 2

”Itʼs my turn! Iʼll beat that bastard down!!”

Katʼs roar reverberated through the hall, her eyes blazing with determination. Ignoring the attempts of Damo and Dillion to restrain her, her eyes blazing with fury as she locked gazes with her smug opponent.

Pointing one dagger directly at Hans, Kat issued her challenge with a resounding shout, ”Letʼs fight!”

The clash between the two wind element fighters was nothing short of spectacular. Kat, wielding her dual daggers with deadly precision, met Hansʼs curved swords head-on. Their strikes ignited a whirlwind of blades, filling the air with the continuous clang of steel as they vied for dominance.

With Katʼs ferocious assault, within a minute, Hans found himself thrown back with a gushing wound on his chest. However, Kat refused to stop, pressing her advantage with relentless aggression as she continued her onslaught, driving her opponent further back with each successive blow.

Realizing he was at a disadvantage, Hans unleashed his spirit reading ability, combining it with his formidable techniques to mount a desperate counterattack against Katʼs relentless assault. The battle between the two wind element fighters reached new heights of intensity as they clashed with unyielding determination, each refusing to back down in the face of adversity.

Emery keenly observed the unfolding battle, noting Katʼs remarkable speed and extraordinary strength.?Her understanding of wind elements far surpassed that of her opponentʼs. As a rank 9 acolyte with eight wind elemental pillars formed, she had mastered the wind element to a level at least two ranks higher than Hans.

With her fierce and unyielding personality, Kat was akin to a wild tornado, capable of obliterating everything in her path.

It was evident that Kat lived up to her reputation as the second strongest acolyte in the lower realm group, respected the others. Her previous standing in Hall 59 spoke volumes of her skill and prowess, with only Dillion himself surpassing her in strength.

As the acolytes rallied behind their ”big sister,” cheering her on with fervent enthusiasm, Emery couldnʼt help but feel a sense of apprehension. Despite Katʼs impressive display of strength and mastery of wind magic, Emery noticed several glaring weaknesses in her technique. It was her sheer dominance that prevented her opponent from capitalizing on these openings, but Emery knew that wouldnʼt last forever.

Emeryʼs also believed that the opponent still held another trick up his sleeve. And as if on cue, the blond-haired man unleashed a divine technique that sent a jolt of recognition to his memory.

Hans ascended into the air, his form bathed in a radiant glow as majestic wings unfurled from his back—the unmistakable manifestation of the [Angelic Descent] technique.

In that moment, Emeryʼs mind raced to connect the dots. Hans was no ordinary acolyte. His mastery of such skills marked him as a member of the Nephilim elite.

While Hans was far from reaching the pinnacle of power embodied by figures like Eesho, Emery couldnʼt discount his potential. Hans could have rivaled Armand, his once formidable adversary.

Hansʼs next move revealed even more about his true capabilities. He produced four gleaming flying weapons—a quartet of small, double-sided curved blades—each shimmering with deadly intent as they circled around him.

A smug grin played across Hansʼs lips as he spoke to the assembled acolytes. ”Hahaha, you are wrong to think that I was demoted to the middle hall as punishment.”

In that moment, everything clicked into place for Emery and some of the senior acolytes. It was clear that Hans had deliberately kept a low profile throughout the year, using the resources of the higher halls to hone his abilities in secrecy. And now, as he revealed his true capabilities, it became apparent that he was more than just a skilled fighter—he was most likely Instructor Aspenʼs secret weapon, tasked with defending Hall 68 and perhaps even elevating it to new heights.

”LETʼS END THIS!” Hansʼs voice thundered, a malicious smirk twisting his features as he surged forward. His blades shimmered with the power of two wind-based techniques, each swing carrying the force of a tempest. Around him, his four flying weapons danced in a deadly symphony, their trajectories meticulously controlled by his light-based spirit reading attack—a seamless fusion of elements that marked him as a truly formidable opponent.

”Urgghh!!! No way will I allow you to win!!” Katʼs defiance echoed through the arena as she braced herself for the onslaught. Her combat spirit blazed like a raging inferno, empowering her every move with unyielding determination. Despite the lack of protective armor, she stood her ground, her muscles tensed, and she was ready for the clash.

As Hans lunged forward, his blades slashing through the air with deadly precision, Kat met him head-on. With fast reflexes, she parried his strikes, the clash of steel ringing out like a battle hymn. Each blow left its mark, leaving Kat with numerous cuts and bruises, but still, she pressed on, undeterred by the pain.

”Just give up!! Save up some energy to kneel after!!” Hansʼs taunt cut through the chaos, his laughter ringing out like a mocking challenge. To his surprise, however, she charged forward with reckless abandon, braving the assault with seemingly suicidal moves. ṟ𝘈ƝȱʙĚs̈

She strategically blocked the strikes aimed at vital areas of her body while allowing two to hit her shoulder and waist. But instead of faltering, Kat pressed on, her ferocity intensifying with each step.

”Youʼre crazy!!” Hans exclaimed

With a swift and decisive motion, Kat threw one of her daggers, forcing Hans to dodge to the side. It was a calculated move, designed to create an opening—and she seized it without hesitation. In an instant, she closed the distance between them, her remaining dagger poised for the final strike.

”AARGGH!!”

Hans cried out in agony as Katʼs dagger pierced his chest, sinking deep into his flesh.

But even as she landed her blow, Kat felt a searing agony shoot through her own body. With a sharp gasp, she looked down to see Hansʼs saber buried in her own chest. Both combatants fell to the ground, their bodies wracked with pain.

Seeing the severity of Hansʼs injuries, Instructor Aspen quickly conceded loss on his behalf. Concern etched across his features, he hurried to tend to the young manʼs wounds. Emery, too, stepped forward as he lent his own healing abilities to the task at hand.

The result of the match was declared a draw, but the toll on both sides was evident. With only two acolytes remaining from Hall 120 compared to the four still standing from Hall 68, the odds seemed stacked against them.
