Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 1970: Earth Under Attack 8

”CHUMO!!!”

The energy beam raced relentlessly toward Chumo, its speed, and power too overwhelming for him to handle. Just as the imminent threat was about to strike, a shiny metallic construct intercepted its path with astonishing precision.

BAAAAMM!!!!

An octagon-shaped flying metal, concealing intricate machinery within its form, materialized to thwart the deadly beam. The unexpected appearance of this defensive marvel surprised both Chumo and the long-haired grand magus. Not only did it withstand the formidable power of the beam, but it also skillfully redirected its trajectory, leaving the grand magus visibly annoyed.

”Huh! It must be a tier 7 artifact!” the long-haired grand magus grumbled.

Emery, witnessing the timely intervention, felt a surge of relief. After guiding Chumo safely into the moon base, the octagonal metal shifted its focus toward Emery. Hovering around him, it continued to serve as a formidable shield, intercepting subsequent beams aimed at Emery.

”Thank you, Master Borin. Itʼs remarkable!” Emery expressed his gratitude, to which the proud inventorʼs reply was heard from his earpiece ”Of course! Itʼs my best creation to date! Also, donʼt forget, You can switch from defense mode to attack!”

With the pressing need to counterattack, Emery swiftly agreed to change the octagonal construct into its offensive form.

”Attack mode, transform!!”

The metallic construct, having undergone a rapid transformation, now sported sharp blades, with each corner folding and expanding into a formidable wheel-like weapon. This newly configured construct hurtled towards the grand magus, spinning fiercely as it closed the distance, compelling him to redirect his attention toward the relentless onslaught of the metallic blades.

Forged from Emeryʼs tier 7 Dragonite, this almost indestructible multipurpose construct was crafted to make the most of the limited quantity of the precious material.

What made the item particularly challenging for the Grand Magus was its advanced control system. The octagonal construct was fully manipulated by a sophisticated artificial being, VIA, providing it with a level of adaptability and unpredictability that even troubled the experienced grand magus.

Taking advantage of the distraction, Emery executed a Blink, appearing behind the grand magus, poised for a potentially critical strike.

However, his intent was abruptly disrupted as a surge of formidable power emanated from behind him. It was Gaizan, the pirate chieftain, wielding his double-bladed sword with menacing intent. Forced to abandon his planned attack, Emery quickly retreated.

”DAMN YOU!! DONʼT RUN!!” The pirate chieftain bellowed with fury, giving chase to Emery in a relentless pursuit. This action proved that Gaizan had regained some, if not most, of his strength, forcing Emery to deal with both the grand magus and the pirate chieftain simultaneously.

”Dammit, there is no other way!” Emery declared as he decisively flew back toward the Moon base, channeling his power to open a spatial gate.

Witnessing the crack in space forming next to him, the pirates roared,

”HE IS TRYING TO RUN!!” In a fit of rage, the chieftain dashed closer to the Moon base, attempting to stop Emery from leaving. However, the last four working cannons thwarted his advances. ”FUCKING HELL!”

Undertanding the situation, the long-haired grand magus swiftly conjured a powerful flame into his arm and unleashed a mighty punch that sent the metallic construct flying. He followed up by casting his crimson beam toward the cannons, aiming to neutralize the base. To everyoneʼs surprise, Emery didnʼt escape through the portal. Instead, a figure emerged—Morgana, accompanied by the six plant creatures. Emery signaled Morgana to enter the base, then turned his attention to the six plant creatures. ”I need your help once again.”

”Ku.. kuang kuang ku ku,” resonated the united sounds of the six creatures as they closed in around Emery. Utilizing [One Mind], Emery unleashed his [Plant Mastery - Fusion]. With Twik as the central figure, all six plant creatures amalgamated with Emery, forming a colossal entity clad in formidable plant armor.

The lunar surface trembled as a massive surge of energy enveloped Emery.

Emeryʼs transformation stirred concern for his two opponents, but it failed to halt the advance of the grand magus. Dongbai, the long-haired figure, unleashed a barrage of fiery projectiles, while the tiger-faced chieftain swung his double-edged sword with both arms. 𝖗ÅꞐO͍₿Ès̩

”DIE!!”

Despite being enveloped in flames, the plant giant managed to capture the sword, bleeding profusely but unwavering in its grip. Seizing the opportunity, Emery countered with his other arm, delivering a powerful punch that sent the pirate chieftain soaring into the sky.

”GAIZAN!!!”

The long-haired grand magus was shocked and worried about the chieftainʼs condition. However, in an instant, he turned his attention away, only to face the colossal plant giant hurtling towards him, its four-meter stature leaving an imposing presence in the lunar landscape.

The colossal plant giantʼs first punch was evaded, but to the grand magusʼs surprise, Emeryʼs speed, despite the massive body, proved overwhelming. The second punch struck the magus in the stomach, delivering a powerful impact. Refusing to release his grip, Emery employed his other arm to seize the grand magusʼs shoulder, continuing the relentless assault with savage punches to the face.

BAM!! BAM!! BAM!

Meanwhile, the tiger-faced grand magus rushed to aid his companion, but Emeryʼs powerful swings managed to inflict a deep cut on the tiger-faced magusʼs arm. This forced Emery to relinquish his grip, setting the stage for a fierce three-way battle among the powerful adversaries.

Two grand magus of similar strength, each unleashing their unique attacks—one from a distance and the other closing in with the intent to smash Emeryʼs body apart.

To counter the relentless assault of the sharp blades, Emery swiftly summoned the metallic construct to attach to his arm. The enhanced blade claws were now at his disposal for attack, while the octagonal metallic shield served as a formidable defense. With this setup, Emery managed to skillfully match the two grand magus in their fierce onslaught.

CLANK CLANK!!

The lunar surface echoed with the clash of metal, as the battle raged on. Emeryʼs new form proved to be formidable and versatile. He overpowered the two adversaries, deftly dodging one fire blast and using his claws to inflict wounds on the pirate chieftain—one slash at a time.

Just as Emery gained the upper hand and was ready to finish the pirate chieftain, the long-haired magus came to intervene, blocking Emeryʼs path he spoke with a hint of reluctance,

”I hate to do this, but it seems itʼs the only way to defeat you!”

With those words, the beautiful-looking grand magus underwent a startling transformation, assuming a hideous form, but with a shocking boost in power.

VIA voice entered Emeryʼs mind, and issued a warning:
