The Golem Mage

It was only after Alec had pushed them into the Beast Forest that he realized he hadn’t thoroughly considered the consequences of tossing them in, as for instance, he was quite uncertain about how the reincarnation process truly worked.

From what the system spirit had just explained, it was clear there was a significant difference between him and them; as he was the main owner of the amulet, while they were brought into the Amulet space due to external factors.

This left Alec unsure whether their consciousness would return to their bodies if they died in the Beast Forest, as he pondered about this, he felt deep down that it wasn’t possible for them to actually perish in the first level of the Beast forest as the strongest beast there has a Tier 3 realm.

Although the beasts were stronger than their current levels, but his gang had all reached Tier 4 Mage status, and Alec believed that if they worked together, they would be able to survive inside the forest.

However, weighing various factors, he decided against jumping into the second level of the Beast Forest just yet, he resolved to wait for them to return, eager to learn about their experiences and see if there was anything he could suggest to help them improve faster before considering bringing them to the next level.

“Well, it’s not all bad, I guess I finally have some time to myself now!” Alec said as he prepared to summon for the soul of the Golden Horned Drake he had been saving.

After hunting the low Tier 5 Golden Horned Drake the night before, he was ambushed and killed by a Tier 6 Golden Horned Drake that seemed to be related to the one he had killed, abruptly ending his hunting experience.

The encounter had been alarming enough to make him wary of pursuing any Tier 6 demonic beasts anytime soon, as they were significantly more dangerous.

Fortunately for him, the system had been kind enough to retrieve the soul for Alec.

Alec had been reluctant to bring out the soul and use it, as he was feeling cautious now that he knew the other two instructors, Selene and the Dean had probed him last time.

This left him tense about summoning the Golden Horned Drake’s essence, as even the slightest fluctuations could give him out, causing someone like the Dean to come rushing to his room again.

While he didn’t think he would actually get into trouble, the thought of having to explain himself felt exhausting.

He wanted to avoid any questions that he wouldn’t be able to answer, which kept him focused on staying calm and not doing anything foolish, like bringing out the soul.

However, now that he was alone in his Amulet World space, he decided to finally devour the soul.

The Golden Horned Drake’s essence appeared in his palm, shimmering gold like the last one.

But unlike the previous essence, this one didn’t resist or emit the same pressure, and Alec attributed this change to the Amulet World; even as it lay still in his hand, it radiated a significant surge of energy.

Without further thought, he opened his mouth wide and swallowed the soul, closing his eyes to savour the lingering sweetness.

“Hmmm!” Alec murmured, crossing his legs and levitating in the air due to the space’s unique gravity.

He could feel most of the energy flowing into his body was being absorbed by the soul form of the Golden Horned Drake inside his Microcosmic Universe.

While the rest of the energy was just tossed around in his body, so Alec was trying to cultivate so he could properly distribute the energy throughout himself, pushing himself closer to the next realm.

Just as he thought he might finally enjoy a peaceful session of cultivation, the system rang with a notification, prompting him to open his eyes with the intention of quickly closing the notification to avoid distraction.

However, the moment he opened his eyes and saw the notification, he found himself unable to ignore it; he was eager to understand what was in front of him.

Before Alec could proceed with his plans, another series of notifications suddenly popped up on his screen, leaving him momentarily stunned.

Then he remembered that he used to hold a group leader type of title that allowed him to earn a portion of the experience points his gang gained whenever they benefited from Alec’s system.

This had happened during the Blood Moon Wars they fought together, but the title had evolved beyond just team leader then, it reached the commander title, due to the amount of mages under him back then.

It has also appeared when they were in the Second Dimension; as long as the gang were close to him and they were working together, the team leader title comes into play, allowing them to share experience and level up faster.

However, Alec hadn’t realized that the percentage had increased.

And if he had to guess what caused it, the only reason he could give for this bump was because they were currently in the Beast Forest, which operated under Alec’s Amulet, granting him more priority.

“Well, good luck to me, but I still need to check the store ASAP,” Alec said.

Just then, another interruption occurred, not the system again but this time it was Knight being knocked out of the First Door of the Beast Forest, causing Alec to stare in shock.
