Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1203: Types of Dreams and Nightmares

Nyx, as if sensing Jacob’s astonishment and his growing interest in the Dreamscape, continued with great enthusiasm, ”After the first category of the False Nightmare and False Dream, and the second category, Fragmented Nightmare and Fragmented Dreams, is the third category, the Primary Nightmare and Primary Dream!

”In this category, the nightmares and dreams are completely composed of true ’events’ and contain a fragment of the Dreamscape’s owner’s identity, not just ’small memories’ that hold minor importance.

”That’s why they can be either long if the event revolves around the owner or small if the owner is only a small part of these events. Simply put, depending on how the owner preserves these events and how much ’identity’ is hidden within them, the Primary Nightmare and Primary Dreams are very dangerous.

”The fourth category is True Nightmare, and True Dreams that completely revolve around the Dreamscape Owner, and are usually very long, containing an overwhelming ’identity’ of the owner because it contains their ’stories’ that made them what they are.

”So, I don’t need to tell you about the dangers relating to them, and once you reach the level where you can manipulate and devour True Nightmares and True Dreams of Dreamscape, you’ll truly start taking over the Dreamscape Realm and explain your authority!

”Oh, and remember, the False Dreams and False Nightmare also have three branches, Fragmented, Primary, and True False Nightmare and Dream.

”Although they are one of the fundamentals you need to master to attain high proficiency in the Dreamscape Law, if you, without any preparations or power, fall into a True False Dream or True False Nightmare, you might become a permanent part of them and lose your ’identity’!”

Jacob’s eyes flickered with greater realization as he thought with great intrigue and slight dream, ’Four categories of Dreams and Nightmare, and then three categories of False Dreams and Nightmare...and if I want to completely devour Whiteness’s Dreamscape Realm, I need the power to at least keep myself secure within the last categories of Dreams and Nightmare.

’Furthermore, since Whiteness is already a Higher God, even if he’s sealed, it still won’t change the Dreams and Nightmares in his Dreamscape Realm will be weak. It’s like learning complete rocket science while I’m still a first grader.’

A hint of helplessness flickered in his eyes when he finally understood the gravity of the task he had vowed to undertake, and he felt maybe it would be better to leave it to Nyx and be satisfied with whatever he would get.

Because Jacob’s confidence slightly wavered as he stared at the insignificant Fragmented Nightmare in front of him, which took his full willpower to extract. He didn’t dare to imagine what a Primary Nightmare or Dream would do to him.

However, when Jacob thought about his actual purpose for doing something this insane, he couldn’t help but grind his teeth with hatred and frustration.

’Immortal Nimrod, that bastard! If only he didn’t have the Longevity Path Glory Gem, I could’ve avoided all of this!’

Just thinking about going against the terrifying existence of the Void Monarch, who was actually hunting him, almost drove Jacob insane, and he threw away any thoughts of backing down.

Whiteness was like a hope in an absolute void for Jacob, and the only entity known to him who had successfully escaped from the Void Monarch’s clutches.

That’s why Jacob needs to fully understand Immortal Nimrod’s prowess, his base of operations, and what Whiteness has done to escape, even if it means spending countless years and risking his very existence in Whiteness’s Dreamscape Realm!

After binding his resolve again, Jacob impassively asked, ”Alright, I understand. Now what should I do with this Fragmented Nightmare in front of me?”

Nyx, unaware of Jacob’s turmoil, said cheerfully, ”Just use your instincts and consume. Although this is just an insignificant Fragmented Nightmare, it is still a Fragmented Nightmare of a God, so we’ll get a few years of Lifespan out of it, and you can get ’true’ information as long as you focus!

”If it were me, I would’ve directly devoured it as it couldn’t resist me and don’t bother with the information since it would take a longer time if done through steps as you did. And just like I would’ve raised my authority to the point when even his True Nightmares and Dreams couldn’t resist my prowess. Now you should be aware of how much ’work’ I’ve been doing for you all this time, and you should raise...”

Nyx boasted, ranting and complaining about how Jacob treated her typically, while also secretly hoping that he would give her more ’funds’ to mess around, but when she sensed a dangerous intent filled with annoyance rising within Jacob, she instantly changed her speech...

”Umm...anyway, what I’m trying to say is the whole point you’re taking on this task is to get his entire memory set without losing anything. But don’t worry, once you get accustomed to this, you’ll become faster, and get it all done in less time than I would take!” Nyx confidently declared.

Jacob didn’t bother with Nyx any longer and stared at the Fragmented Nightmare in silence, and then, without hesitation, he used his instinct and intent to consume it.

A hint of surprise flashed past Jacob because the next moment, the fragment dissolved instantly, completely, and in the next instant, something settled inside him.

It was a memory, and clearly not his, but now it was accessible only to him, and it wasn’t just this memory; Jacob felt a faint mystical energy, filled with life force, spreading through his very being.

Jacob was very familiar with this feeling, and he knew he had gained lifespan, and despite it being insignificant, his gloominess lessened quite a bit.

Jacob’s flames flickered with ecstasy.

”...So this is it.”

Nyx didn’t laugh this time and sounded satisfied, ”Yes. Now imagine what happens when you take something important and eventually the whole thing!”

Jacob’s gaze slowly lifted toward the deeper parts of the Dreamscape, where the chains were thicker, and the presence of the Void Mantis was heavier, and also the real secrets slept.

Jacob declared, his voice was calm, but colder than before, ”Then I’ll go deeper!”
