Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1074: The Coalition Founders! (3)

The Myth of White Swordsman’s expression was blank, and his eyes were without any glimmer as his very soul had been put into slumber, and his body had become an empty husk like a puppet.

But something strange happened, the White Swordsman actually started to speak in an emotionless tone, ”Secret Fraternity isn’t mine. It was established by people connected to the Upper Plains, and the Virtual Star World presides over it!”

At this moment, the Myth of Oracle questioned in a cold tone, ”What is the purpose of this secret fraternity? Are they after the Coalition Master?”

This was a bizarre question, but the White Swordsman seemed to have lost the ability to think or preserve anything, or he would’ve been shocked and extremely curious about why the Myth of Oracle thinks the Secret Fraternity was after the Coalition Master.

Emotionlessly, the White Swordsman replied to the question, ”The Secret Fraternity’s purpose is to discover the Legendary Master Key, and hunt down someone called the ’Cursed One’ at all costs. And no, they are not after the Coalition Master; instead, they are wary of Mythical Coalition.”

A sigh of relief suddenly sounded, but it wasn’t from the Myth of Oracle.

She questioned again, ”Who is this Cursed One? And what is the purpose of this Legendary Master Key? Why are the upper plains so interested in them?”

”We don’t know for sure, but according to the spokesperson, as long as we can kill the Cursed One or find the Legendary Master Key, the Upper Plains will reward us by opening a universal space channel to ascend into the Upper Plains, and everyone thinks that the Legendary Master Key is probably for that purpose as well.” The White Swordsman emotionlessly answered.

The pentagram on the Myth of Oracle’s mask shimmered brightly when she heard this, and even the giant silhouette of the Coalition Master seemed to have flickered for a moment.

”Is that why you joined the Secret Fraternity and didn’t alert the Coalition? Who else is with you among the Coalition who has joined them?” The Myth of Oracle coldly questioned with a hint of hostility as she didn’t seem pleased with the ’traitors.’

The White Swordsman expressionlessly replied, ”Yes, I want to ascend to the Upper Plains to break through to the Mythical Rank before my remaining lifespan runs out. I don’t want to be trapped in this cage anymore.

”I was approached by the Myth of Justice (Holy King), and she convinced me to join them. She is also one of the representatives of the Upper Plains, and I believe she is one of the founders. Other than her, there are no other Mythical Coalition members in the Secret Fraternity.

”However, they seemed to have unknown Quasi-Myths, probably three more than me and the Myth of Justice, but I’m not completely sure. But I haven’t met them outside the Virtual Star World, and they keep their identities hidden. The Myth of Justice probably knows who they are.”

Silence fell in the mystical hall at this moment after they heard the truth behind the Secret Fraternity. Although they had confirmed they weren’t targeted, they still felt wary due to unknown Quasi-Myths they were unaware of.

But they were also helpless in this regard because the Legendary Plains were impossibly large and ancient, and the Mythical Coalition didn’t exist from the beginning.

So, there might be Quasi-Myth even before the Mythical Coalition’s founding, and those old monsters were well hidden and kept it to themselves. After all, not every Quasi-Myth gets an Ascension Permit to ascend, and those who are left behind are forever stuck in the Legendary Plains, waiting for their chance or their death.

”What do you think?” At this moment, the Coalition Master’s voice sounded again, but it wasn’t overwhelming like before, gentle even.

The Myth of Oracle replied gently, ”I think those unknown Quasi-Myths are probably pawns of the Upper Plains hidden in the Legendary Plains just to make sure they won’t lose grip on the Middle Plains.

”Furthermore, these hidden manipulators are probably bigwigs of the Upper Plains since small fries won’t have a chance to compete for the Middle Plains with those influential figures.

”But now those pawns seemed to have been activated, this makes me wonder just who this Cursed One is to instill such fear in those people, and just how precious this Legendary Master Key is, and its purpose.

”Thousands of years ago, when the Road of Legend was opened, this Legendary Master Key suddenly surfaced, but no one was able to find it before those monsters showed up, and everyone forgot about it.

”But those Upper Plains’ bigwigs didn’t seem to have given up on it and were even secretly searching for it by activating their pawn. If not for my informative, we would still be in the dark about them.

”Furthermore, they probably recruited the White Swordsman because of his battle prowess and unique tracking abilities. As for the Myth of Justice, it goes without saying that she’s a fairy and has a connection with a God.

”So, she’s probably their favorite. But now she’s missing, those Secret Fraternity members would probably panic and search for her, or she isn’t missing and instead...”

At this moment, the Myth of Oracle suddenly turned towards the White Swordsman and questioned coldly, ”Were you really attacked, or was it all arranged by Myth of Justice and Secret Fraternity to injure the Myth of Secrets so she won’t get in your way?”

The White Swordsman replied, ”I don’t know if this was an attack or not, but the Myth of Secrets was suddenly injured, and I fled with her. As for the involvement of the Secret Fraternity, I don’t know, nor was I informed.”

”It seemed a third party is in play here, and whoever this is, they are extremely strong to claim the Temple of the Blazing Flame and then put the Myth of Secrets to such a state.” The Myth of Oracle sounded uncertain as she appeared flustered, a rare occurrence for someone like her.

At this moment, the Coalition Master spoke, ”Since they are not targeting us, let’s continue to observe and keep our distance. Let them do the groundwork, and we’ll swoop in and claim everything just like we always have.”

The Myth of Oracle silently nodded in agreement, having a similar thought to the Coalition Master.

”Snap!”

Suddenly, a snap of figures was heard, and the White Swordsman’s vacant eyes returned to normal with confusion.

’Was I blanked out just now?’ The White Swordsman was extremely confused, but there was nothing wrong with him.

At this moment, the Myth of Oracle spoke as if nothing had happened, ”We would like to ask if you’re willing to trade one of your sword spells.”

The White Swordsman was instantly distracted, as from his perspective, the conversation with the Myth of Oracle was still going on without any lapses. So he quickly forgot about this momentary blackout without realizing he had already spilled everything about the Secret Fraternity!
