Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1062: Nightmare Plan (1)

”Specimen-3, the Champion King, real name unknown. He was once the prominent Chairman of the Zodiac Warrior Alliance, and also the chief of the War Giant Race.

”However, he was later betrayed by his protégé, who is currently known as the Giant War King, and also the War Giant Council, which has the highest authority over the War Giant Race.

”But by some miracle, he was able to survive when everyone presumed him dead, and resurfaced as a Star Pirate, and became the most powerful Star Pirate of the Legendary Plains.

”However, this information was kept strictly confidential by the Life Faction until the Champion King suddenly appeared in the Virtual Star World in an auction over a hundred years ago...”

Alma impassively introduced the Champion King’s history stored in the ATLAS’s databank, and Jacob heard it silently.

”The ATLAS was once very interested in the Champion King because they had discovered something about his bloodline when they acquired a sample of his blood from one of his battles.

”They found that the Champion King didn’t actually have a bloodline of War Giants; instead, he has an even rarer bloodline, on the same rank as the Fairy Race, if not surpassing it, the bloodline of ’Mortal Giant!’

”Mortal Giant Race is even more elusive than the Fairy Race; there were not many traces of them in the Legendary Plains, and they are almost considered a myth. However, there was once a Mortal Giant who was a Constant from an era unknown. That’s how they had the bloodline data on the Mortal Giant Race.

”Although there isn’t much information on that Mortal Giant Constant, it seemed quite crucial because recruiting the Champion King or exterminating him were one of their top priorities.

”As for why they wanted to exterminate him, there is no record of that, but they should be afraid of him or something like that. However, the Champion King always managed to evade them and even almost killed a group of Legendary Kings from the ATLAS.

”Apparently, except for the Mortal Giant bloodline name and its importance, there is no other information on its talents or abilities.” With that, Alma concluded her report and became silent as Jacob seemed to be deep in thought while staring at the Champion King.

However, Alma didn’t know that the whole reason Jacob wanted to lure the Champion King back into the Ashen Mirage Desert was precisely because of the Mortal Giant bloodline!

The reason behind his interest was simple. One of Jacob’s abilities, the Mortal Danger Sense, was something he had acquired after absorbing the Heart Blood of an Infant Mortal Giant.

The Mortal Danger Sense had saved his life many times, and this ability can make him see the future of his impending death or something closely related to it.

Furthermore, Jacob also remembered that when he defeated the Flame Calamity in the Dark Arena, Wyvern suspected that he was a Mortal Giant.

After subduing the Black Mechanic and gaining access to the ATLAS databases, he personally reviewed the bloodline databank due to the Immortal Chapter. Then he found out about the Champion King’s secret!

’Since ATLAS wanted him dead if they couldn’t recruit him, then it means they fear the Mortal Giant Race. Furthermore, the Fighting Giant Spirit is also the core aspect of the Giant Race, so getting my hands on a Mortal Giant is nothing but good for me...’

Jacob’s eyes flickered coldly as he looked at the Champion King in slumber.

’A Fairy, and a Mortal Giant, not a bad harvest...’ Jacob thought before he looked away, and glanced at Alma, and ordered, ”Start the tests on their bloodline first with Black Mechanic, I want that data. It should be helpful to strengthen my Life Bane Wheel further.”

The moment Jacob uttered the name ’Life Bane Wheel,’ Alma trembled instinctively, as terrifying memories surfaced in her mind. Nonetheless, she quickly calmed down and respectfully nodded.

”I’ll get it done right away.”

Jacob merely nodded, ”Good, and sent all their treasures to the treasury floor, and have Black Mechanic appraise and store them accordingly. If there’s something that Black Mechanic can’t apprise, put it aside; I’ll personally look at it.”

Without waiting for Alma’s response, Jacob vanished from the 40th floor and appeared on the second floor of the Mechanized Sovereign Tower.

Unlike the 40th floor, this floor has a different design. Here, the air itself vibrated faintly, humming with currents of magic and metallic resonance—as though the entire floor was alive.

Rows upon rows of intricate framework stretched outward like the inner skeleton of some colossal machine, a lattice of twinkling black alloy beams crisscrossing in geometric precision.

The walls were polished steel-dark stone, etched with runic conduits that glowed faintly, pulsing like veins as energy surged through them.

But the most fascinating thing about this floor was that suspended in the air were hundreds of small constructs, no larger than a man’s arm, all shaped with unnerving symmetry.

Their bodies seemed part clockwork, part insect, with jointed wings of rune-carved crystal and tiny orb-like cores pulsing with pale light. When they moved, faint trails of glowing script followed their flight, as if the runes themselves were alive.

Every single construct was bound together by the unseen will of the Black Mechanic, their movements perfect, synchronized, and tireless.

But wasn’t surprised by those constructs, for they were all considered ’bodies’ of the Black Mechanic, and he called them ’Mechanical Insects’.

At that moment, Jacob’s eyes locked in on the very heart of this machine-like floor, which was bathed in a web of light—stood a colossal equilateral chamfered tetrahedron, a geometric giant of peerless craftsmanship.

Its sides gleamed with layered metallic surfaces that reflected colors, and each edge was engraved with runes so fine they seemed to shift when looked at too long.

The structure radiated the aura of a priceless treasure—something that felt less like a tool and more like a work of cosmic art.

Dozens of the Mechanical Insects swarmed over it, carving, polishing, and fusing runes into its frame, as though completing a design like never seen before in the Legendary Plains.

Even in its incomplete state, the tetrahedron exuded a faint, oppressive majesty.

Jacob’s eyes flickered with a hint of fascination, yet there was also an ecstasy as he looked at one of the Mechanical insects that suddenly landed on his shoulder.

”How much longer before the completion of this Nightmare Void Server?”
