Lord of the Truth

Chapter 2122 The soul shard waves

Mid Sector 100- Planet Originus

Bam ”The war is already nearing its end. Day Raven Planet is under our control, and all major battlefields are finished except one... one!!” Peon slammed the table in front of him in anger, the sound echoing heavily through the chamber. ”Is this really the time for us to act like fools?!”

Around Peon, several generals and high-ranking officers lowered their heads even more, their backs straight and hands placed behind them like guilty students awaiting punishment. The tension in the hall thickened, as if the air itself had grown heavier under his fury.

Their armor was not ordinary. In general, it was golden as well, but intricate black patterns were carefully and beautifully engraved across every piece of it, flowing like dark veins of power across polished gold, giving off an imposing and almost suffocating presence.

These were the commanders of the special forces units.

Among them were individuals still trapped within the range of a battle emperor, like their commander Peon himself, and others who had clearly surpassed that level, their mere presence radiating pressure, marking them unmistakably as World Cataclysms.

World Cataclysms wielding the four integrated laws exclusive to the special forces!!

Peon had selected a number of residents from the Cradle Empire to join the special forces.

True, the empire was still young within the Mid Sector. Most of the planets that had joined the empire did not yet hold complete loyalty, even if no rebellions existed and outward stability was maintained.

However, there were several older planets that had fully submitted, whose inhabitants themselves requested to fight within the army ranks, driven by ambition, faith, or desperation... and Peon had not wasted the chance to handpick some of them for himself.

Not many in number, but some of them had already become World Cataclysms.

World Cataclysms who wielded merged laws!!!

This had added tremendous strength to the special forces, a power so overwhelming that their appearance alone could truly turn the tide of battle in an instant.

And yet, these World Cataclysms operated under Peon with complete obedience and discipline. There was no arrogance, no sense of entitlement whatsoever, only silent readiness.

One reason was that he was the son of His Majesty. Another was that they knew what limited him was not talent, but the restrictions of the Young Belt. And a third, perhaps the most important... his terrifying planning abilities. When the supreme commander Peon wanted to breach a fortress, destroy a site, or level a mountain... he would devise a plan to achieve it no matter the cost, no matter how impossible it seemed at first glance.

Most of his plans were sharp, direct, and leaned toward the suicidal, cutting through hesitation and doubt, yet for some reason they always succeeded with very minimal losses, as if guided by an unseen certainty.

His orders and strategies were always like a dagger striking straight into the enemyʼs heart, fast, precise, and impossible to ignore.

His commands were not as perfect as Marshal Caesarʼs, nor as cunning as Marshal Aroʼs, but they were few, decisive, and always aimed at the vital point without hesitation.

All the special forces had asked him more than once to take several planets and operate as an independent marshal. They understood he had what it took to win battles quickly and decisively instead of remaining the second man behind Caesar, especially since he fully controlled the special forces, the largest and most terrifying arm of Marshal Caesarʼs army... yet he refused every single time without exception. ...Under the weight of Peonʼs powerful shout, everyone lowered their heads even further, some clenching their fists behind their backs as the pressure mounted. ”Sir, you know our forces were heavily exhausted on Day Raven Planet and-”

Bam Peon slammed again violently, cutting him off before he could even finish. ”I donʼt give a f*ck” Then he pointed sharply at the speaker. ”Didnʼt you receive news of a soul shard from His Majesty appearing to stop the destruction of the logistical zone?”

As he recalled this, his expression darkened and he raised his voice even more, anger mixed with something deeper. ”This is a disaster... a disaster!!” He looked around with wide eyes, his gaze sweeping across every face in the room. ”His Majesty is intervening personally. That means we have failed. That means we are useless. It means keeping you around me has become pointless!!” ”...” Everyone lowered their heads even further, the silence that followed heavier than any shout.

The appearance of the shard a few days ago sent massive shockwaves across the sector and even beyond its borders, its influence spreading far wider than anyone had anticipated, and it had a tremendous, almost overwhelming impact on the war unfolding on that planet.

The battles over the past days became extremely restrained and cautious. Each side deliberately pulled back, holding its ground without overcommitting, as if both were silently acknowledging the shift in circumstances, while preparing for a final decisive confrontation... a battle where everything would be settled in one stroke, and in which the Guardian himself might appear in person. ”Calm yourself, Supreme Commander,” one of the officers around the table spoke gently, her tone steady and composed, a faint, reassuring smile forming on her lips. ”...Grandfather wonʼt hold it against you.” ”...” Peon lifted his gaze toward the girl, his expression still tense, then returned his eyes to the table once more, the anger in his chest settling slightly this time, though not completely gone.

This was his eldest daughter, Rufina, now one of the important and rising officers within the special forces.

Her golden hair shimmered faintly under the lights, and the features she inherited from her mother, a descendant of the Burton family, gave her a refined and commanding beauty, making her resemble her adoptive grandfather to a striking and almost uncanny degree.

Yes, His Majesty, his father, might not rebuke him for falling short in the battle... but how was he supposed to see himself after this? How could he accept such a result? ”This cannot continue...” Peon spoke in a low voice, almost to himself.

Then he raised his head, his expression hardening again. ”Half of our forces were exhausted on Day Raven Planet, I know. But theyʼve had days of rest, enough to recover at least partially. A large portion of them should already be ready for another battle.” His gaze swept across everyone one by one. ”And I want you to withdraw all our men from the remaining planets.” ”Thatʼs dangerous.” One of the World Cataclysms frowned deeply, his brows tightening as he spoke. ”Even if thereʼs only one battlefield where dozens of World Cataclysms and Nexus States appear like that one, there are still at least fifty other planets engulfed in war, each requiring attention.” ”Iʼll have the Marshal compensate and find alternatives for our special forces,” Peon waved his hand dismissively, cutting off any further hesitation. ”He can redistribute the Note fleets or call in army reserves if needed... but that planet -we must finish it within a month, understood?” His voice dropped slightly, turning sharper. ”And it will be finished by our hands!” ”Understood!”

All the officers and generals raised their voices in unison, their responses echoing firmly across the hall.

The special forces, numbering nearly four hundred thousand, had never gathered in one place in such numbers before. The mere thought of concentrating such power in a single battlefield was both dangerous... and terrifying at the same time. ”Dismissed.” Peon gestured toward the door without hesitation. ”Yes, your highness!”

Everyone straightened into proper military posture instantly and began moving toward the exit in a single, orderly line, each already thinking ahead, planning how to gather and mobilize their respective units as quickly as possible.

Krrr

At that moment, the door opened, and someone entered from outside. ”Excuse me, Supreme Commander of the Special Forces, may I come in?” ”Hm?” Peon turned toward the entrance, his attention shifting immediately.

It was a woman clad in full golden armor, the design distinctly feminine yet no less imposing, covering her entire body, even her face completely concealed behind a smooth, polished mask.

Peon recognized her immediately and gave a short nod. ”Come.” Then he gestured to his officers. ”Continue on your way and close the door behind you.

Donʼt forget a single word of what was said.” ”Yes, your highness.”

The officers and generals continued forward without turning back, their steps steady and disciplined.

Except for Rufina, who raised an eyebrow as she watched the armored woman enter her fatherʼs office alone. A flicker of curiosity crossed her face, and she began shifting slightly to the side, then the other, trying to catch even the smallest glimpse of what might unfold inside.

Until-Kshhh-the door shut firmly right in her face, cutting off her view completely.
