Lord of the Truth

Chapter 1852 The turn

BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM

In that single, razor-thin moment at the exact instant the purple-skinned man let his final word slip from his lips- the six Destruction Note Support ship cannons thundered as one, their barrels blazing with merciless intent. ”...?!”

The purple-skinned man slid his left foot back, stunned that they had actually fired at him again. His muscles tightened instinctively as he shifted into a full offensive stance, his posture radiating readiness to meet all six incoming shots head-on without flinching.

But- woosh woosh woosh woosh woosh woosh

All six shots screamed past him, grazing the air beside his body before shooting straight behind him- then detonating violently.

BOOOOOOOOOOM ”..?”

He immediately summoned an energy barrier behind him to disperse the force of the blast, the shimmering wall rippling under the pressure. He scoffed internally, thinking what a pathetic, laughably desperate tactic this was-trying to hit him from a blind angle like some inexperienced novices.

But then his expression twisted-hard, fast, and ugly.

Those shots...

Those shots werenʼt meant for him at all.

They were aimed directly at his wounded comrades- the ones lying behind him, already clinging to life after the first barrage. They had been barely opening their eyes... barely conscious... already on the brink.

Now, none of them showed even the faintest spark of life.

No movement.

No heartbeat.

Not even a recognizable body remained-no limbs intact, no faces left to identify. Only scattered remains. ”АААНН...”

His mouth dropped open, and a strange, broken sound escaped him. The expression on his face wasnʼt anger, nor sorrow... it was pure, unfiltered shock. A raw disbelief that almost froze his thoughts entirely.

Then a ksshh crackled through the air, followed by a calm mechanical voice emanating from the Destruction Note vessel: ”.....?!”

Slowly painfully slowly- he turned his head toward the vessel, his face a twisted mixture of astonishment and confusion. He waited, expecting more, expecting a threat, a declaration, anything... something he could answer with blood.

But nothing came.

That was it.

The person inside said nothing else- not a single additional word.

The voice was polite, diplomatic even... almost absurdly calm.

But the meaning behind it was sharper than a blade and twice as deadly:

You threatened to kill billions of our citizens because I injured six of yours?

Very well. I killed them for you.

Now... show me what youʼll do.

His thoughts collapsed in on themselves. Seven hundred thousand years in the Syndicate-seven full millennia of domination-and never once had anyone dared look him in the eye as an equal. Never had anyone even imagined challenging him openly.

And now this?

Today of all days? Six world cataclysm experts form the Syndicate under his watch?!

What can he possibly tell his superiors to erase this shame? ..

Leaving aside completing the mission and scan the area, even destroying those three suns and everything attached to them, no, burning down this entire damn young sector wouldnʼt compromise spelling the blood of someone from The

Syndicate.

What happened to the niverse?

What twisted nightmare was unfolding right in front of him?!

This wasnʼt anger nor weakness, just pure shock, like a little mortal dreaming about getting chased by a group of falcons while riding a crazed duck! ”AAAAAAAHHH!!!”

Energy exploded across his arms like a burst of living thunder. He reached behind his back and drew out his planetary-grade weapon-a colossal hammer etched with ancient runes-then raised it high above his head, ready to shatter the world itself. crackle

Space around him trembled, warping subtly as the power of a low-level Nexus State pooled along the hammerʼs edge, condensing into a terrifying singular point of force.

BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM

The Destruction Note fired again-all six cannons unleashing their full power, this time with absolute focus, all aimed directly at him.

BOOOOM

The blasts detonated where he stood, violent waves of energy rolling outward -yet the purple-skinned man remained exactly where he was. Unmoving. Unshaken. Still gripping the hammer with both hands, still staring at the Destruction Note with eyes wide and deranged.

The two main cannons unleashed a Law nearing the force of a mid-level World Cataclysm, and the four auxiliary cannons touched the edge of a low-level one. For anyone else, such power would have erased them completely.

But for him-his strength amplified through a Nexus State and a planetary-grade weapon-this was damage, yes, but nowhere near enough to make him take even a single step back. ”You, thing inside that vessel,” he hissed, his voice twisting into something almost ritualistic, ”die knowing you have brought doom upon the entire True

Beginning Empire.”

Then, slowly... he began to lower the hammer.

The Destruction Note support ship attempted to pull back as fast as its engines would allow, but it was pointless. The instant that colossal hammer descended, everything within a hundred-kilometer radius would be wiped out by an overwhelming, fission-like burst of destructive energy. The outcome had already been sealed- there was no escape, no counter, no hope.

But- ”Hm?”

The purple-skinned man suddenly felt a surge of violent vibrations pulsing from the west-so intense and sharp that they forced his head to turn instinctively, even though he was in the middle of unleashing a world-shattering attack. His focus wavered for the first time.

Zoooou From that direction, he saw two blinding white streaks slicing through the air toward him at terrifying speed. ”What the-?!”

The purple-skinned man jerked in shock, desperately trying to sense the power behind those two beams, but he simply had no time to analyze anything. ”Aaaaaaaaaah-!” ”Yes!!”

Inside the Destruction Note support ship, the young general leapt to his feet in exhilaration, barely able to contain his joy-because he immediately understood what had happened.

That strike had come from a Supremacy Note Gen-4 Note Mothership.

A dual main-cannon laser barrage- one of the deadliest and fastest long-range attacks in any fleet! ”Grrraaah!!!”

The purple-skinned man still clung to the hammer, holding it overhead even after taking the direct hit, but everything about his posture had collapsed. His once proud and stable stance now resembled that of a frail, ancient man struggling just to stay upright.

CRRRRRK

Then, without warning, a massive thunderous crack erupted from the east. A heartbeat later, two titanic bolts of lightning tore through the sky-an overwhelmingly concentrated thunder barrage fired by yet another Supremacy

Note Gen-4 Note Mothership.

KACHAaaaaa!! ”Aaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!”

The purple-skinned man screamed in agony as the smell of his own burning skin filled his nostrils. Every shred of momentum he had gathered for his devastating attack evaporated instantly, leaving him staggered and disoriented.

VROOOOM

From the north came yet another assault- two dense projectiles of purple cloud-energy that swallowed his entire body in a silent, suffocating swirl. They produced no explosion, no flash, nothing dramatic at all.

And yet- ”GYAAAAAAAAAH-!!”

The screams of the Nexus State within him were infinitely louder than anything he had let out before, as if the attack tore directly into his soul rather than his flesh.

Then, finally-

KhSSSSS

From the southwest, two colossal spheres of blazing red flame roared toward him. The moment they touched the purple cloud still clinging to his body, the fire ignited even further-erupting wildly-and then- BOOOOOOOOOOM

A massive explosion detonated, tearing open a spatial rift and blasting the

Destruction Note backward as if it had been caught atop a monstrous tidal wave.

This time... not a single scream followed from the Nexus State Expert.

Not even an echo. ”What just happened?!” ”Boss!!”

The thirteen World Cataclysms spun toward the enormous explosion in absolute shock. They could no longer sense even a flicker of their leaderʼs aura. Not a trace remained.

But they had no time to grieve or panic.

FROOOOM

The western Supremacy Note Gen-4 Note Mothership finally arrived. Nearly a thousand meters in length-its size rivaling an entire mobile city-the vessel dominated the entire battlefield. Its very presence radiated a suffocating, lethal pressure.

The World Cataclysms, beings who specialized in destroying starships, stood paralyzed and terrified before this monstrous structure.

Then-

HOOOOM

The side gates of the Supremacy Note Gen-4 Note Mothership opened wide.

What emerged was not more Flood Note battle ships.

They wished it were.

Instead, rows upon rows of horned individuals in immaculate crimson armor uniforms marched out with perfect discipline.

With reinforcements finally here, and after witnessing the demon Cataclysms stepping in to handle the rest personally, the young general slowly collapsed back into his seat. His body trembled uncontrollably, overwhelmed by the scale of what had just unfolded.

Then- kshhh

The transmitter activated. ”This is Supremacy Note Gen-4 Note Mothership No-510. We have arrived to neutralize the threat. Is everything in order on your side, Destruction Note Support ship Gen-4 No-1115?”

The young general barely managed to lift a single trembling finger to press the response button. He swallowed, then forced out his words: ”...Weʼre fine. But I fear...”

He gulped again, his voice tight. ”...that weʼre entering a very, very dangerous turning point.”
