Lord of the Truth

Chapter 1032: Another piece arrive

”So, should we fight now, or...?” Robin asked calmly, his tone making it clear that he wasnʼt particularly invested in the answer. Any response would suffice.

”Why the rush? Honestly, Iʼm enjoying this conversation. Arenʼt you?” Pythor shook his head with a laugh. ”Iʼm either surrounded by followers or superiors. Rarely do I find someone I can talk to as an equal. Even if youʼre destined to die by the end of the day, youʼre still a planetary emperor, deserving of some respect.”

”Oh, youʼre making me blush a little here,” Robin chuckled. ”So, what do you suggest? Should we wait until our subordinates finish their fights? But by then, we wonʼt get a good duel. The victorious subordinates would simply surround the losing planetary emperor. Donʼt you think?”

”...I guess youʼre right.” Pythor nodded several times. Even though he had absolute faith in the subordinates who had followed him since time immemorial, he couldnʼt ignore the fact that four marshals had been killed by the very people fighting them now.

The circumstances might have been different -perhaps they were outmaneuvered, isolated, or ambushed- but the fact remained that they had died in this war. And it could happen again. If his remaining subordinates perished, what would he do then?

Robin Burton was a Soul Master and had that massive soul creature at his side. One had to be cautious and consider the possibility that he had other spiritual beings at his disposal. Against such an opponent, Pythor couldnʼt afford to be careless. If he allowed the battles around him to drag on and ended up surrounded, there was a slim but real chance he could be defeated. Even with his absolute confidence in his body and planetary gift, Robin Burton was also a planetary gift wielder and a Soul Master.

”Alright, letʼs speed things up a bit. I have an army I want to bring into this battle. I wouldnʼt feel satisfied losing or winning, for that matter- if all the pieces werenʼt in play!” Pythor clapped his hands quietly, laughing, then reached to his side and pulled out what looked like a small fabric pouch for storing coins. He opened the tiny pouch and slipped his hand inside.

Not just his fingers- his entire hand up tell the elbow!

”...?” Robin raised an eyebrow and activated his Truth Eye again. His brows shot up in recognition. ”A spatial artifact?”

”Indeed, just a simple travel pouch. It holds about a cubic meter of space. Nothing compared to that ring on your hand.” Pythor laughed as he rummaged through the pouch, finally pulling something out. ”Aha, there you are.”

It was an object the size of a building block, adorned with several sensors. Pythor placed both hands on its sides and spoke loudly, ”To all ships in the northern area, to all generals and imperial guards, return to Hope City immediately. The final battle has begun!”

Once Pythor finished placing the device in position, he attached the travel pouch back to his waist. ”Apologies. Since negotiations failed, thereʼs no reason to keep the army away anymore. I hope you understand.”

”Ah, of course, of course,” Robin chuckled a few times, then gestured toward Pythorʼs waist. ”Was that a miniature transmitter? Iʼve seen blueprints for one in the hands of the dwarves in your S-1 Planet, but compressing the massive ship-bound devices into something this small seemed incredibly challenging. I never thought theyʼd actually make one!” Robin let out a faint whistle. ”Those dwarves are truly resourceful.”

”Hey, we were having a respectful conversation here. No need to turn it into an exchange of insults,” Pythor retorted, clearly annoyed at the mention of the Dwarf World. While he knew it had fallen into Robinʼs hands, the mere thought of it irritated him!

”Ah, my apologies, it was just an innocent remark,” Robin laughed heartily.

Whoosh Whoosh

As Robinʼs laughter subsided, the sharp sound of sonic barriers being shattered echoed from a certain direction. Turning his gaze, he spotted two warships. The ships immediately began deploying thousands of soldiers via ropes, while several martial emperors emerged, flying. ”...This will cost you dearly, Pythor. Youʼre under heavy pressure in the North. I wonʼt lie-I personally oversaw the planning of the giantsʼ uprising there. If you try to withdraw troops this hastily, theyʼll suffer catastrophic losses as they give their backs to the enemies in this way,” Robin muttered, watching as ships arrived one after another from all directions.

”I know, but whatʼs the point of fighting there after things have escalated to this degree?” Pythor shook his head. ”I wanted to show you I had control over Nihari, hoping we might reach an agreement. But now, battles in those regions will yield nothing. Iʼll sever your head first, then return to them. As for those who will perish during the retreat... itʼs fine. Theyʼre not the first sacrifices this time, but they will be the last.”

Whoosh Whoosh Whoosh Whoosh

”Damn it!” Caesar felt a growing threat and unleashed the Flames of Death in that direction, immediately incinerating a martial emperor.

”Arrgh!”

But that wasnʼt the last. Gradually, Caesar found himself surrounded.

”......!!” Richard also began taking hits from multiple sides, and the pressure on Sakaar and the Tree Father doubled as the ground forces moved toward them!

The only one seemingly unfazed was Hulak. ”Where did these cockroaches come from?” Bam! Hulak slapped one of the newcomers, turning his head all the way around before leaping back toward First Marshal Celebus.

”....” Robinʼs gaze swept slowly around the battlefield. By now, seven ships had arrived, already disrupting all ongoing battles. Portions of the ground forces were beginning to encircle the city, and the ships were bombarding the spiritual creature Hovenheim with artillery. Even though Robin had a large reserve of soul units now, he couldnʼt allow this attrition to continue!

”My apologies, then. I didnʼt want to involve the infantry for this ruckus, but youʼre kind of forcing my hand here...” Robin sighed, shaking his head.
