Chapter 257

Chapter 257

Bertram’s entire infected lair is not too small. After all, Bertram’s body is already huge enough. If he wanted to hold all of Bertram’s tentacles, then this cave must not be too small.

This also means that the elimination work Zhang Cheng has to do is not a small workload.

For Zhang Cheng, the most important problem he faces now is time.

The remaining camouflage time of the camouflage device is running out, and there are only 20 minutes left. No matter whether Zhang Cheng can find other accessories within these 20 minutes, he needs to make a judgment before the camouflage time is over.

Continue to carefully avoid the spiked tentacles entrenched on the ground. There are spiked vines everywhere in the cave, and sometimes it is inevitable to encounter these spiked vines.

Fortunately, Zhang Cheng is now wearing an invisibility cloak, so the touch to Bertram may be similar to a stone, but in short, Bertram was not alerted.

It is also possible that Bertram is repairing his injuries in a deep sleep. Many infected creatures that Zhang Cheng knows will gradually recover their body functions by entering a deep sleep state after being injured.

Although Bertlam, as a boss-level infected creature, generally has a strong self-healing ability, but this time it encountered the nightshade toxin that the Federation spent decades collecting and purifying. .

Judging by Bertram’s current appearance, he knew that it must be unbearable.

So it’s not incomprehensible that Bertram fell into a deep sleep now.

If this is the case, then the situation will become more favorable for Zhang Cheng. Without Bertram’s vigilance, Zhang Cheng can speed up the search in the cave.

After about 10 minutes, Zhang Cheng found another advanced accessory in the second location of the cave.

The bloodthirsty necklace on Zhang Cheng’s chest that hides its appearance has begun to tremble slightly at this time. If Zhang Cheng hadn’t been firm in his will and controlled the bloodthirsty necklace, the bloodthirsty necklace might have jumped out automatically like last time to advance this one. The accessories are absorbed.

Zhang Cheng doesn’t know what these advanced accessories are, because the records about the bloodthirsty necklace are too rare, so Zhang Cheng doesn’t even know the number of its accessories and what they are. He just collected them. You will know their names only after you look at the corresponding accessories.

With 15 minutes left in the camouflage, Zhang Cheng withdrew his consciousness from the panel information in his mind, and 15 minutes was still enough for Zhang Cheng to continue searching for a long distance.

After entering the cave, Zhang Cheng’s search route was roughly from the outside to the inside. The shape of the whole cave is a long strip, and Zhang Cheng has probably gone through the depth of this long strip cave now.

Seeing that there was still plenty of time for camouflage, Zhang Cheng continued to sneak down, and always paid attention to whether there was any change in the bloodthirsty necklace on his chest.

To be honest, Zhang Cheng didn’t expect at the beginning that Bertram had more than one advanced accessory.

It took Zhang Cheng a lot of effort to get every advanced accessory, and it was unknown how long Bertram searched for so many advanced accessories in his infection lair.

Moreover, Zhang Cheng still had a premonition, he always felt that there should be other accessories on Bertram’s body.

Because most of the tentacles distributed around the cave Zhang Cheng just walked through were Bertram’s tentacles, and those tentacles were not Bertram’s body.

Bertrand’s main body, how can I say it will be integrated with an advanced accessory?

As the entrance of the cave went in, it became wider and wider. Zhang Cheng knew that Bertram’s body was hidden in the deepest part of the cave.

15 minutes is enough for Zhang Cheng to go directly to the deepest part of the cave, but the premise is that Zhang Cheng can no longer search side by side as carefully as before.

After some calculations, Zhang Cheng decided not to continue the investigation, but went directly to the deepest part of the cave.

He wanted to go directly to Bertram’s body to see if he could find more advanced accessories.

The progress along the way was very smooth. After not having to search carefully, Zhang Cheng’s pace of progress was obviously much faster.

Finally, when the camouflage was about to end for 5 minutes, a huge root system was reflected in Zhang Cheng’s eyes.

This mass of roots is Bertram’s body, and there are at least hundreds of roots intertwined and coiled in this mass of roots, each of which is as thick as an adult’s waist.

Zhang Cheng calmed down, and moved towards the root system more quietly, for fear of disturbing this huge monster.

The entire root system of Bertlam was soaked in a purple pool, and the pool was filled with infection spores one after another.

In fact, it is not so much a pond as it is a quagmire, and there is a disgusting smell from the quagmire. Fortunately, Zhang Cheng tried his best to restrain the feeling of nausea.

”Ok?”

At this moment, Zhang Cheng suddenly felt another change in the bloodthirsty necklace, and this time the change was more violent than the previous two.

Zhang Cheng was about to lose control of the bloodthirsty necklace. It seemed that the bloodthirsty necklace was no longer just a piece of equipment, but a spiritual object with self-consciousness.

Zhang Cheng suddenly found that the root system in front had also begun to change.

Bertram’s roots seemed to have been stimulated by something, and began to wriggle uneasily in the quagmire.

Every root tendril seemed to become very hungry and thirsty, and began to desperately absorb nutrients into the quagmire.

Zhang Cheng soon saw that the roots seemed to be covered with a layer of purple, and the purple began to spread upwards along the roots like water.

Immediately afterwards, purple spread from the roots all the way to the spiked vines above.

Bertram must have felt something too!
Zhang Cheng guessed right before that Bitram’s injury was indeed serious, to the extent that Bertram fell into a deep sleep for body repair.

But now under the influence of the bloodthirsty necklace, Bertram is already showing signs of waking up!
He couldn’t hesitate any longer, Bertram might wake up at any moment, Zhang Cheng gritted his teeth, and let go of the control of the bloodthirsty necklace.

After obtaining the permission of Zhang Cheng’s will, the bloodthirsty necklace flew out of Zhang Cheng’s chest, and then the whole necklace floated in mid-air, and the necklace pendant glowed scarlet, which was very dazzling.

At this moment, something that Zhang Cheng couldn’t believe happened.

A scarlet light also flew out of Bertram’s body. Zhang Cheng opened his eyes wide and looked at the scarlet light, and found that it was also a bloodthirsty necklace!

This bloodthirsty necklace is the same as the one that Zhang Cheng has been wearing all this time.

what happened? Why does Bertram also have a bloodthirsty necklace?
