Chapter 122

Chapter 122
Zhang Cheng was a little shocked by the scene in front of him.

In front of it is a roughly circular hall. The hall is as wide as an auditorium. What is even more striking is that there are glass tanks neatly placed in the hall.

The glass jars are transparent and visible. Each glass jar is about the height of two people. Most of the glass jars are filled with light green liquid.

Infected organisms of various shapes were soaked in the liquid in the glass tank, and tubes were inserted into the infected organisms.

The laboratory is not densely populated, but there are quite a few experimenters in this rotunda. There are experimenters who are constantly patrolling between the glass tanks and recording every experimental data with a tablet.

Of course, it was not suitable to explain anything in such an environment. Old Buck didn’t say anything, but just signaled Zhang Cheng to follow him with his eyes.

Zhang Cheng quickly withdrew his gaze from shooting around, and followed Old Buck to the center of the rotunda.

There is a glass tank every few meters in the hall, which makes the whole hall look like a forest composed of glass tanks.

Zhang Cheng passed by rows of glass tanks, and only then did he see clearly what was placed in the center of the hall.

In the center of the hall, there is a staircase going down. Go down the stairs and you will enter a glass room laboratory.

Standing in the center of the hall, just looking down, you can see the scene in the glass room below—there are several test benches, and human beings are being injected with some medicine as experimental subjects on the test benches.

Zhang Cheng saw a boy about fifteen or sixteen years old. Shortly after being injected with the medicine, the skin on his body began to gradually turn red.

Immediately afterwards, the muscles and bones on the boy’s body began to swell and explode, and soon the boy’s entire body grew in size.

The clothes on his body were stretched into rags, and the boy’s tightly closed eyes suddenly opened, with a look of tyranny and madness in his eyes.

The boy began to twist his body crazily violently, but unfortunately, his real body had already been tightly restrained by the metal hoop.

The boy’s body grew bigger and bigger, and more and more experimenters gathered in the center of the hall, staring intently at the changes below.

The boy suddenly wailed, and then his seven orifices bled, and the muscles on his body began to shrink rapidly.

But in less than half a minute, the mutated boy made no more sound.

Looking at the withered skin on the boy’s face, Zhang Cheng couldn’t believe that the corpse was a living person 10 minutes ago.

When the boy’s body mutated, the experimenters next to him retreated early. At this moment, the boy was silent, and they rushed up again immediately, recording something to the mutated body.

”Experiment question No. 0688, experiment item: potion QZ824, experiment result: failure, test subject’s death time: 22 seconds...”

Zhang Cheng clenched his fists tightly under the anti-chemical suit. Old Buck noticed Zhang Cheng’s strangeness, and lightly bumped Zhang Cheng with his shoulder.

Zhang Cheng looked at Old Buck, who just shook his head slightly at him.

The anger in Zhang Cheng’s heart suddenly cooled down. The young man’s appearance after death was really cruel, which was undoubtedly a huge torture.

But in order to successfully complete the task, Zhang Cheng knew that he had to calm down now, at least he had to find the hostages first.

In the central hall, experimenters began to push the hospital bed. On the hospital bed was a middle-aged man who had already fallen into a deep sleep due to anesthesia.

This is the next experimental product. The semi-infected body experiment of the empire is still going on, and they will not stop until they achieve their goal.

Old Buck looked at this scene with complicated eyes.

Is it really possible for the semi-infected body experiment to be successful? It is necessary to obtain the strength of mutation enhancement and to allow the body to maintain its sanity while accepting the mutation of the infection. It seems that there are two completely contradictory paths.

Because everyone knows that the first time the infectious spores enter the body, they will attack the central nervous system of the host. After mastering the central nervous system first, the infected spores will then mutate the various organs of the body.

So Old Buck has always felt that this is an impossible path, and Old Buck has also argued for it, but what is the ending?

Thinking of this, Old Buck smiled self-deprecatingly, but because of the cover of the oxygen mask, no one saw it.

Just as the experimenters gathered in the center of the hall to pay attention to the results of the experiment, two white figures slowly withdrew from the center of the crowd.

There were also some wandering experimenters around, so no one would notice the figures of Zhang Cheng and Old Buck moving in the hall.

”The experimental bed was launched from here just now.”

Although Zhang Cheng had been watching the cruel semi-infected body experiment, he did not forget to pay attention to the surrounding situation.

He saw with his own eyes where the test bed was pushed out from.

Zhang Cheng and Old Buck managed to gradually approach the transportation channel without attracting anyone’s attention.

”Stop, what are you doing?” At the entrance of the channel for transporting the experimental body, two experimenters stopped Zhang Cheng and Old Buck.

Zhang Cheng glanced at Old Buck nonchalantly, and Old Buck had already thought up his words: ”Something happened to the last experimental subject, let’s pick the next experimental subject.”

”It’s really useless. This batch of experimental products is almost used up, and there are still a lot of potions to be tested...”

It was not surprising for the two experimenters to hear Old Buck say that there was a problem with the experimental questions, and stepped aside to let Zhang Cheng and Old Buck go in.

After successfully entering the transportation channel, Zhang Cheng and Old Buck arrived at an anesthesia room after walking a short distance.

There are many beds in the anesthesia room, and it can be clearly seen that many beds have been vacated in the anesthesia room—obviously, those are the experimental products that have died in the semi-infected body experiment.

Restraining the anger in their hearts, Zhang Cheng and Old Buck began to search for Lena Bell in the anesthesia room.

Although Zhang Cheng had never seen what Lena Bell looked like, he had heard Potter describe Lena Bell’s appearance. There were not many hospital beds left here, so it would not be difficult to find them.

’A young woman in her mid-thirties, with wine red short hair...’

Women with this characteristic were easy to find, and Zhang Cheng quickly found a survivor who met the characteristics and had been anesthetized.

In the anesthesia room, two anesthesiologists are checking the anesthesia records to prevent accidents such as suffocation of the experimental subject during anesthesia.

Old Buck was on the other side of the anesthesia room. The more he searched, the colder his heart became, because he looked at the hospital beds, but he didn’t see his granddaughter at all.

”Doctor, this survivor should meet the criteria for this experiment, come and have a look!”

Zhang Cheng’s voice suddenly excited Old Buck. He turned around and walked quickly to Zhang Cheng’s side, looking at the survivors lying on the hospital bed.

”Find, found...”
