Chapter 81 Flamethrower

Chapter 81 Flamethrower

Judging from the position on the map, the front was not far from the border defense line, but it was difficult to see clearly due to the thick fog. That was probably where the final battle broke out.

If it wins, it will be difficult for infected creatures to set foot on the federal territory beyond the natural barrier of defense.

If it fails, maybe today’s hard work will be in vain, and tomorrow the infected creatures will make a comeback and call in more support from the polar ice sheets.

”There are still about three hours left in the evening, so I should be able to make it in time...” Zhang Cheng looked at the time with a solemn expression.

Strangely, the dense fog was a light purple color and showed no signs of dissipating in the wind.

The federal army did not dare to advance rashly. No one could predict what would happen next until the situation in this thick fog was understood.

The Federation was not helpless, but quickly arranged for reconnaissance drones to enter the dense fog to detect the enemy’s situation.

Zhang Cheng also sent the extremely maneuverable Falcon into the fog, and he could immediately know how many enemies there are in the fog from the shooting of the Falcon.

The falcon first flew directly above the fog, and then descended from the air into the fog below.

Compared with the ground, the air would undoubtedly be much safer. However, clusters of flames suddenly burst out in the mist, which was the explosion wave produced when the drone was destroyed.

Zhang Cheng’s eyes shrank suddenly, and he hurriedly issued an order to let the Saker fly up into the sky quickly.

Through the falcon’s monitoring screen, although it was only a short moment, Zhang Cheng had already seen the culprit of the federal drone at that time - the strange rattan waving wildly in the air.

Those rattans have purple barbs on them, and each rattan is as thick as a python. From time to time, lavender smoke will seep out from the skin of the rattan.

And those infected who fled into the mist under the pursuit of the federal soldiers were all collapsed on the ground at this moment, and the vines coiled around the bodies of the infected, absorbing nutrients.

”Is it actually a plant-type infected body...”

This type of infected body is usually able to absorb nutrients through roots and stems, thereby quickly recovering and increasing its own strength.

But they also have a fatal weakness, that is, their mobility is poor. Generally, the range of activity of plant-type infected bodies is very limited, and they can only wait for prey to come to their doorstep.

So they’re often masters of camouflage, too.

The vine monster in front of me created a fog to confuse its prey. Once it got within a certain distance of the fog, vines would immediately sweep out of the fog, dragging the prey back and squeezing it clean.

The area covered by the fog is still expanding rapidly. Compared with when Zhang Cheng and others first arrived, the area covered by the fog has more than doubled, and the fog is even denser.

This shows that the Tengman monster has obtained a large amount of energy supplies from the infection wave, and it will be very detrimental to the federal army if this continues.

The falcon managed to escape from the fog thanks to its quick reflexes in the air.

Two vines covered with barbs barely passed under the falcon, only a short distance away from reaching the falcon.

Zhang Cheng ordered the falcon to drop two explosive bombs in the air. Zhang Cheng rarely used this skill of the falcon because the falcon could only carry two explosive bombs with it and needed to return to the cabin to replenish them after they were used up.

At this time, the fog below is thick, and no one can see the specific situation below, so they can only use explosive bombs, which cover a large area, to attack.

The two explosive bombs erupted into dazzling fire on the ground, even blowing away some of the dense fog around the explosion point.

Everyone could vaguely see the phantom of the rattan behind the mist, but unfortunately, the mist soon surged, and the gap was quickly covered again.

But this also gave the federal commander a lot of inspiration: ”The fog is afraid of fire, and the flame can ignite the fog!”

”Hurry up and prepare the flamethrower! And Molotov cocktails, the more the better!”

Although using a large-scale fire attack may damage the construction fortifications on the defense line, compared with this, it is most important to kill the Vineman monster first.

The fortifications can be repaired later, but the Vineman monster has been entrenched here, and I’m afraid it will become more and more terrifying.

Moreover, according to the destructive power of the Vineman monster, the fortifications may already be riddled with holes.

The commander has already sent a signal requesting support to the Federation, waiting for the Federation to deliver supplies.

Reckless action will not work. Once they enter the fog, the soldiers will be quite passive, and will only be constantly attacked by rattan hidden in the depths of the dense fog.

And it’s still not clear whether these purple smokes have any damage to the human body, anyway, it doesn’t look that simple.

The federal support was very strong. Less than half an hour later, the federal government delivered a batch of supplies.

Several helicopters landed on the ground, and several soldiers got off the helicopters and shouted for everyone to help unload the supplies.

There are a lot of flamethrowers and Molotov cocktails on it, which should be able to solve the troublesome smoke.

The commander quickly distributed the weapons. Most players were assigned several Molotov cocktails, and Zhang Cheng even got a flamethrower.

——The flamethrower equipment has requirements on the level, at least the player needs to be at level [-] combat level to be able to equip the flamethrower.

The final decisive battle began, and the federal soldiers formed a queue in an orderly manner, advancing steadily.

Walking in the forefront are soldiers holding explosion-proof shields. They need to prevent the rattan attack that may emerge from the dense fog at any time.

Combat drones began to take off under the command of the army, constantly dropping bombs below.

The Saker is of course also in this category, but it needs to come back to replenish ammunition after each bomb is dropped.

The flames of the explosion made the dense fog in front of them tumbling, and also allowed the soldiers to see the movement behind the fog slightly.

Several canes were swung upwards in annoyance, trying to get rid of the bomb-dropping drones hovering in the sky.

However, the rattan is not long enough to cause too much damage to the drone flying cautiously in the air.

The federal army advanced steadily, and soon reached a warning distance of the Tengman attack.

According to the results of several trials by the drone, this place is almost the limit of the length of Fujiman.

The warriors holding the shields in front looked solemn, but they didn’t have the slightest retreat in their hearts. They held the shields with both hands and moved forward.

As expected, as soon as the soldiers in the front row crossed the cordon, countless thick vines shot straight out of the fog, which looked shocking.

The shield-wielding warrior immediately squatted on the ground, using his entire body as a support to stop firmly behind the shield.

The rattan hit the iron shield with a powerful impact, immediately overturning many shield-wielding warriors to the ground.

Zhang Cheng immediately aimed at the wildly dancing canes and activated the flamethrower in his hand.

Long tongues of flame shot out from the jets, and the dancing vines immediately retreated as if struck by lightning.
