Chapter 80 Counterattack

Chapter 80 Counterattack
When the infected creatures in the distance gather to a certain scale, they will start to attack the fortifications of the garrison army, trying to defeat the coalition defense line in one fell swoop.

Naturally, there are snipers in the federal army, so in order to reduce the loss before the war, the corpses also stay out of the range of the sniper rifles.

The cautious behavior of the infected creatures further confirmed that there must be something behind them manipulating their actions.

That is a big fish, there are not many infected creatures that can produce wisdom, and killing one will lose one. Breeding wisdom is a long and boring process for infected creatures.

”Look, mayor, the wave of corpses is moving!” Someone next to him pointed to the wave of infection in the distance.

Zhang Cheng was equipped with the Delusion Breaker, so he had noticed the clue earlier, and immediately selected a firing point, ready to go there to defend against the tide of corpses.

”Everyone hurry to the fortifications and get some food before the battle. There will be ammunition boxes placed at intervals on the defense line. It is best for everyone to fight close to the ammunition boxes.”

The federation’s ammunition box is full of ammunition, so players participating in the recruitment order don’t have to worry about running out of ammunition, as they can replenish unlimited ammunition here in the federation.

Zhang Cheng took the lead and stepped onto a fortress about five or six meters high. A federal ammunition box happened to be placed above the fortress.

Then Zhang Cheng ate a vegetable puff pastry, which would increase his output efficiency against infected creatures.

And Zhang Cheng brought a lot of vegetable puff pastry, which should be able to consume him for a long time.

He still has some combat potions on him, but the amount of potions is relatively rare, and Zhang Cheng will only take potions at critical times.

Taking out the Mosin Nagant sniper rifle from the backpack, Zhang Cheng refilled the Mosin Nagant with full ammunition in the ammunition box next to it.

The wave of infection is constantly advancing, and some of the infected creatures that run faster are about to enter Zhang Cheng’s range of sniping.

boom!
Almost at the same moment, gunshots began to sound on the battlefield, and snipers rushed to snipe the infected.

Zhang Cheng suddenly pulled the trigger, and the sniper rifle bullet pierced through a zombie’s head like a nail, immediately taking away all its life points.

Zhang Cheng pulled the bolt and loaded it, and the golden shell fell to the ground in a short while.

After all, the firing interval of the Mosin Nagant sniper rifle is too long. Although its firepower is high, the health of the zombies in front of them may not be able to withstand a single shot, so the sniper damage is somewhat overflowing.

When the tide of corpses got closer, Zhang Cheng switched his weapon to a ump9 submachine gun and kept shooting at the infected supermen outside the fortifications.

”Mayor, it’s not the way to go on like this! It feels like these infected organisms are endless, just like they can’t be killed.”

”Old man’s maiden’s heart!” Holding the M16, he moaned towards Zhang Cheng while shooting at Zhang Cheng’s side.

This is already the fifth wave of corpse attacks that Zhang Cheng and others faced after they came to the defense line. Just like what ’Girl’s Heart’ said, these infected creatures seem to be endless, repelling wave after wave.

Infected organisms reproduce by infecting spores, so the proliferation speed is extremely fast. Everyone knows this, so after facing five consecutive waves of corpse attacks, everyone began to doubt whether there is any hope of winning if this continues.

Zhang Cheng changed a magazine, smiled and said, ”Don’t think infected creatures are so incomprehensible. If there were really infected creatures that couldn’t be killed, human beings would have been extinct long ago.”

Zhang Cheng knew in his heart that although infected creatures reproduced quickly, no matter how fast they were, they couldn’t kill them as fast as the soldiers. Moreover, it took a certain amount of time to grow from a newborn infected person.

”Don’t worry, just wait and see, the federal soldiers will be able to launch a counterattack soon!”

”Really?” The girl’s heart was surprised, she had been passively defending behind the fortifications, and the girl’s heart was always thinking about when she could take the initiative to attack.

”Of course it’s true. Haven’t you noticed that these waves of infected corpses have become weaker and weaker?”

Others may not feel it very clearly. After all, the line of defense is so long, and the vision in front of the soldiers is only a segment of the entire line of defense.

However, Zhang Cheng clearly saw the decline of the infection wave through the pupil of the delusion. If this continues, it won’t be long before the Federation will no longer have to stick to the defense line, and can go out to take the initiative to fight.

Sure enough, this wave of corpses was repelled again not long after.

With the fire support of a large number of players, the defensive pressure on the defense line was greatly reduced. Although the fortifications were defeated by the infection wave from time to time, they were quickly cleared up by the soldiers who came to support nearby.

Therefore, after five waves of corpses, the number of casualties of the federal soldiers was not large. Compared with the infection wave, the loss of the strength of the federal army was not that great.

When the fifth wave of corpses had just begun to retreat, the commander of the federal garrison issued an order to counterattack.

The horn of the charge sounded, and the soldiers hiding behind the fortifications and taking advantage of the geographical advantage to fight shouted and rushed out to counterattack, aiming at the retreating enemy army to pursue the victory.

Zhang Cheng jumped directly from the top of the bunker and jumped down to the ground in twos and twos, charging forward brazenly and fearlessly.

The Saker and King Kong drones also continued to tilt their firepower at the infected below, and Zhang Cheng’s combat experience value skyrocketed upwards.

[Your combat level has been raised to level 1, and you have obtained combat attribute points*[-]. Survivors please pay attention to check]

Of course, Zhang Cheng didn’t have time to add points at the moment, and if he didn’t catch up quickly, he might not be able to catch up.

The federal fighters chased the fleeing infected creatures and took the territory back bit by bit.

Casualties are unavoidable in this process. Under the cover of a team of soldiers, the federal medical team searched for the wounded in need of help on the battlefield and treated the wounded.

In just half a day, most of the Federation’s territory occupied by the infected forces of the polar ice sheet has been retaken, and the infected forces of the other side have been hit hard, and it seems that they are no longer able to mount a strong resistance.

If all goes well, all the infected creatures should be driven back to the polar ice sheets by tomorrow, so that the federal fighters can retake a series of fortifications on the border.

These fortifications were built by the former Federation with great effort, and they play a very important role in border defense.

The longer it goes on, the more fortifications could be sabotaged by infected creatures.

After all, there are intelligent-level infected people in the infection wave. If they really want to be driven back to the polar ice sheet, then they will definitely order the infected creatures under them to destroy these fortifications.

All infected creatures will be strengthened after nightfall, so it is best to expel the infected creatures completely before nightfall, so that everyone can sleep well at night.

With everyone’s brave advance, soon, the flames of war advanced to the final line of defense.
