Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

[Rational discussion, why does Song Chenye seem a bit like he’s gone on a killing spree this episode?]

[Isn’t it normal for Brother Xiao to go on a rampage in the drama? In his last drama, he was pulling teeth from people’s mouths [Mo Tun tooth-pulling meme]]

[This is for analytical discussion, please take the memes next door, thank you!]

[I feel like there’s a little bit of that, but Song Chenye has been taking revenge like this before too. There’s clearly no difference, it just feels weird in my heart.]

[After investigating clearly, Song Chenye directly went to kill at Thousand Leaves Manor. It feels like he didn’t consider Liu Zhilin’s feelings at all. Liu Zhilin originally had deep connections with Thousand Leaves Manor, and Gong Lin is also a blood relative. Yet Song Chenye went and killed her without a word, and didn’t even tell Liu Zhilin in advance. It just feels... anyway, it feels like Song Chenye was in a hurry, as if he was afraid Liu Zhilin would stop him.]

[It really is that feeling. And actually, Liu Zhilin and Gong Lin are considered very distant distant relatives, their relationship isn’t that close. Plus, Liu Zhilin also knows about all the rotten things Gong Lin did. I think based on Liu Zhilin’s personality, he most likely wouldn’t stop Song Chenye... so I think Song Chenye didn’t handle this too well here.]

[Maybe it’s because the main perspective this time is on Liu Zhilin. That is to say, in this moment, we are empathizing with Liu Zhilin, not Song Chenye. That’s why we feel like Song Chenye has gone on a killing spree. But in reality, he has never changed; he has always been killing his enemies.]

[Actually, I can understand Song Chenye. If he had told Liu Zhilin in advance, it would have put Liu Zhilin in a dilemma. Helping or not helping would both be wrong, so it’s better not to tell him.]

[I think this episode can really be savored carefully. Before, it was just straightforward revenge, but this time, more complex emotional factors were added. I inexplicably feel that Song Chenye’s path of revenge is becoming more and more difficult, losing the initial feel-good revenge novel feeling. Now it feels somewhat heavy (not saying it’s not good to watch). And his relationship with Liu Zhilin... I always feel like a foreshadowing is buried.]

[It really is like that. Mainly because the enemies killed before were purely enemies. But this enemy is a relative of a good friend, so the feeling might be more complicated.][I don’t see where it’s complicated. I’ve disliked Gong Lin for a long time. It was all her own problem, and she killed someone else’s mother. Yet the first thing she did upon seeing Song Chenye was directly insult his mother. If I were Song Chenye, I would have chopped her down long ago, why wait until now.]

[Indeed, back then when Song Chenye let her go, I was especially angry, feeling Song Chenye’s character had collapsed. He let her go out of consideration for Liu Zhilin’s face. But now I know, he was actually preparing to collect more evidence, so Gong Lin’s rotten deeds would have nowhere to hide.]

[Actually, there’s really no need to empathize with Liu Zhilin. Before, when Song Chenye killed enemies, he did it directly. Only with Gong Lin, out of consideration for Liu Zhilin, did he thoroughly investigate Gong Lin’s past deeds, laid out all the evidence clearly, and then took action. I think he already respected Liu Zhilin very much. Otherwise, based on the early suspicions about Gong Lin, Song Chenye would have acted long ago.]

[So this point is very ironic. When a good person does something with even a slight flaw, they get fiercely judged. But when a bad person does countless bad things, there are still people who criticize the good person because of her death. Isn’t that absurd?]

[Right, I think this topic is asked very strangely. Song Chenye didn’t kill people indiscriminately. Everyone he killed was either an enemy or a bad person. Yet just because he killed a relative of his friend, people say he’s gone on a killing spree. How does it make it seem like he’s become the bad guy?]

[When we say he’s the ultimate villain of the whole drama, we’re just memeing! Some people really shouldn’t get delusional. Just because Song Chenye and Liu Zhilin have a good relationship, does he have to let go of the enemy who killed his own mother? Then you really are a great Buddha.]

[Great, our ”Record of Chasing the Wind” also has its own great Buddha. [dog head emoji]]

Perhaps because the heat of ”Record of Chasing the Wind” was too high, more and more people were discussing it. Looking at this analysis post the next day, it already had over ten thousand comments, and even more people were expressing their views.

Some people liked Song Chenye, so naturally they stood on Song Chenye’s side. Others also liked Liu Zhilin, so naturally they wanted to speak up for Liu Zhilin. Some people stood as neutral parties, jumping between both sides. But no matter what, the heat of ”Record of Chasing the Wind” reached a new high. More and more people started getting into it, wanting to explore the depths of ”Record of Chasing the Wind”.

One Saturday, Xiao He returned to Shanghai to participate in the official promotional live stream for ”Record of Chasing the Wind”, and was also asked this question by the bullet comments.

For today’s live stream, Xiao He had already prepared, so he wasn’t surprised when asked this question. He just asked in return: ”If Song Chenye had told Liu Zhilin, then what? Could that change the final outcome? Actually, it couldn’t.”

Song Chenye was determined to kill Gong Lin, so Liu Zhilin was never an obstacle.

He might investigate Gong Lin more carefully because of Liu Zhilin, but he would absolutely not stop his path of revenge because of anyone.

”So I think Song Chenye just did what he insisted on doing. His attitude and his heart have never changed from beginning to end. That is enough.”

Song Chenye has been firmly walking his own path from beginning to end. Perhaps this path is very dangerous and difficult, and he will also face emotional entanglements, but he never regrets his choices.

As for how netizens judge his issues and feel his character has flaws, that’s just their respective views. Xiao He cannot influence other people’s thoughts.

Sure enough, after Xiao He finished saying this, the bullet comments in the live stream room immediately surged again, each sharing their own insights.

It can only be said that an interesting TV drama should have this effect.

If people are discussing it, it means people are watching seriously, and it also means the plot quality is up to standard.

Yuan Sitong, sitting beside Xiao He, was also watching the bullet comments, and then read out a question from a comment bearing her own fan name: ”Sister Sitong, is the ending a happy ending?”

After reading this question, she fell silent for a moment, then a bright smile appeared on her face: ”Happy ending, huh? Guaranteed to be a happy ending, everyone can watch with peace of mind.”

Huh? Happy ending?

Xiao He fiercely pinched his own thigh.

Hold on! Don’t laugh, and don’t show any strange expression!

Even Zhao Qinyuan beside him subconsciously lowered his head, pretending to organize the things in his hands, as if he hadn’t heard this sentence.

Happy ending?

If it refers to the ending where Song Chenye kills all his enemies, successfully takes revenge, and finally smoothly retires from the martial world, then it is indeed a happy ending.

But for others, it might not necessarily be so.

After all, the name ”Record of Chasing the Wind” isn’t just for show.

The others... uh, they’ve all reunited underground, several families are all neat and tidy together, how can that not be considered a happy ending?

A happy, complete reunion, very happy, huh.

Xiao He tried hard not to laugh too cunningly, and could only nod frantically beside her: ”Mhm, mhm.”

This was said by Yuan Sitong, not by me.

Don’t come looking for me later, okay!
