【No Bait Set Ding Wanyu Being Harassed】

On May Day itself, ”No Bait” was undoubtedly one of the hottest topics in the entire domestic entertainment industry.

Even though the recent revelations had pulled the guest female lead into a whirlpool of public opinion, it was undeniable that after Ding Wanyu’s live-stream clarification and the production team’s award-winning incident, the current traffic was actually a boost for ”No Bait”.

Many melon-munching casual observers got to know ”No Bait” because of this.

And on the first day, the high-quality plot of ”No Bait” successfully converted this wave of attention into favorable publicity, firmly catching this surge of traffic.

Even though Sun Gong’s side was still desperately trying to drag ”No Bait” into a new topic abyss, deliberately buying a few negative Hot Search topics, the frontline viewers were the best water army and promoters. Their negative Hot Search topics didn’t have any effect at all; passing viewers even took the time to mock them a bit.

【Oh, you’ve bought Hot Search topics all the way here? That’s actually quite impressive, I do feel a bit sorry for you guys. You spent a lot of money, right? How about using that money to buy some Box Office for your own movie? Otherwise, it’ll look pretty bad later.】【Alright, alright, we can see you’re really upset, but don’t get ahead of yourselves. Wait until the first-day and final Box Office numbers come out, then you can be upset.】

【I declare ”No Bait” is the best work in recent years, bar none! I now unconditionally support Xiao He. Want to try buying a few more negative Hot Search topics? Careful, we’ll tear you apart.】

【So sorry, but right now is the time we’re spoiling ”No Bait”. Could you capital schemers maybe wait a bit? At least let me watch the plot a few more times.】

These people’s impotent rage was quickly ignored by everyone.

Because compared to the scheming of losers, they were more concerned about the plot right now.

To prevent accidentally spoiling viewers who hadn’t watched it yet, everyone very conscientiously built high ”spoiler warnings” and then engaged in enthusiastic discussions on the relevant platforms.

【Xiao He’s acting is indeed good. Originally thought his performance in ”Twelve Mirrors” was a fluke, but didn’t expect his portrayal of Shu Yuxiu in ”No Bait” to also have such depth. You can tell he really studied the character, and his acting is truly spot-on. Feels like he was born for this.】

【Huh, feels like the guy upstairs looks familiar.】

【I remember him, he’s the big shot who went to see ”Twelve Mirrors” at the foreign opera house last time.】

【Wow, it’s you! You actually fell for Xiao He? I thought you were just saying stuff casually after watching his birthday show last time.】

【I thought so too... Haha, felt like a big shot who goes to watch stage plays wouldn’t come stan a domestic entertainment industry actor.】

【Can’t say that. Stage plays aren’t some particularly high-brow thing ordinary people can’t watch, and movies aren’t some low-brow thing big shots wouldn’t see.】

【That’s true too.】

【I also feel Brother Xiao’s three versions of Shu Yuxiu were all acted very well, really eye-opening.】

【I actually think Xiao He presented four versions of Shu Yuxiu in ”No Bait”.】

【？？What are you guys talking about? Can someone decipher the big shot’s words?】

【——The following involves serious spoilers, please evacuate quickly if you haven’t watched the plot——】

【The first version of Shu Yuxiu is the life winner he describes in his words: loves his wife, loves his career, life smooth and open.】

【The second version of Shu Yuxiu is the Shu Yuxiu imagined by Officer Zhang and the others when they suspected him: stops at nothing to climb up, even murder, utterly cold-blooded, dark-hearted.】

【The third version of Shu Yuxiu is the Shu Yuxiu in the interrogation room: good at disguising, guiding the conversation step-by-step with Officer Zhang, the high-IQ con artist who led the entire investigation team into a trap.】

【As for the fourth version of Shu Yuxiu, I think it should be him in the final moment before getting in the car—that moment when Shu Yuxiu shed his disguise is the real him. Perhaps Shu Yuxiu was still world-weary and self-loathing.】

【？？No way, big shot, you watched it this closely? Isn’t that a bit of an exaggerated interpretation?】

【Hmm, just my personal speculation. Mainly because Xiao He’s acting is indeed good, with subtle changes in many places bringing out different personalities, just like in ”Twelve Mirrors”. It’s the same person, but the feeling is really very different.】

【And I think some details in the ending were missed, like Officer Zhang. Maybe because our perspective often aligns with Officer Zhang’s, we overlook the foreshadowing on Officer Zhang himself. Feels like Officer Zhang also has a hidden thread throughout, buried very deep because of censorship. I plan to find time to go back to the cinema for a second viewing later.】

【”No Bait” is truly godly, very worth watching repeatedly. You discover something new every time, never feels boring.】

【Stop talking, I’m about to go in for my second viewing. Brother Xiao is awesome!】

...

”No Bait” achieved an astonishing first-day Box Office result during the May Day season, directly raking in 1.6 billion in Box Office on its opening day, stunning everyone in the industry circle.

Since the industry started declining, movie Box Office had basically stagnated.

Nowadays, many film works had actually reached a point where exceeding one billion in Box Office was difficult, let alone ”No Bait” surpassing the final Box Office results of many movies on its first day (including pre-sales), directly securing the first-day Box Office champion spot.

This data injected a fresh burst of vitality into the gradually wilting Box Office market of recent years.

And any industry competitor who saw the finished product of ”No Bait” couldn’t find anything to criticize.

Even with multiple true and false storylines, the final filmed and edited result was still exceptionally clear in its logic, leading the audience layer by layer. The plot twists came without any sense of confusion.

Xiao He’s performance, for many in the industry circle, was already on a completely different, crushing level.

There was no other way; Xiao He’s existence was just too monstrous. And upon closer look, they realized he had just turned 24.

A 24-year-old newcomer, his second film role was the first billing main actor, and right upon release, his results swept across all other movies in the same period. How were others supposed to live with that?

And Tiger Brother, who had held back all day, finally finished watching all the other movies he had on hand.

As expected, the other movies in the same period this year were simply a pile of crap.

There was a Hong Kong film sequel that seemed to be selling nostalgia but was actually just has-been stars reheating leftovers; there was a campus tragic romance with handsome guys and beautiful girls that was actually a confusing exhibition of idiots playing at youthful angst; and there was a supposedly two-and-a-half-year production domestic cartoon where the characters’ dancing was all glitchy...

When Tiger Brother finished watching ”No Bait”, he felt full of energy.

But after eating crap all day and returning, he felt utterly drained.

Even so, he gritted his teeth and started drafting, preparing to rush and record and edit all the May Day season recommendation videos in time.

Only after Tiger Brother finished all this and was ready to upload to the major platforms did he suddenly realize he seemed to have turned his ”May Day Season Movie Recommendations” into a ”Solo ’No Bait’ Promotion” video.

After hesitating for just one second, Tiger Brother decisively uploaded.

Recommend! What he was recommending was ”No Bait”! Everyone, go watch it!

This is divine quality!

Everyone, go watch it!
