Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

Chapter 631: Major Poisoning Incident!

Only after watching Xiao He leave did Xue Yiwei finally come out of the dazed excitement she’d been in a moment ago.

She glanced down at the small bun in her hand, then at the gift box she was carrying in the other hand, and immediately collapsed into a wail of regret.

”Ahhh, I forgot to give him the birthday present I prepared!”

This was such a perfect chance to personally hand her idol a gift, how could she have missed it so badly?

Although she hadnʼt expected a real encounter when she came, she had still carefully prepared the birthday gift.

And yet she hadn’t expected... that had clearly been the closest they’d ever been!

Wuuu...

Xue Yiwei drifted back like a light balloon, the little person in her heart already storming with tears.

By the time she returned to her companions, Dong Nizhen — who had successfully begged chocolate from someone else — was chewing while frowning in confusion. ”Huh? Whatʼs wrong with you? Why did you walk in a circle and look so out of it?”

”Woo—” Xue Yiwei instantly transformed into a boiling kettle, letting out a sharp, miserable shriek as she clutched Dong Nizhen tightly. ”My soul has been taken away, itʼs never coming back! Wuuuu—”
My Brother Xiao!

Dong Nizhen: ?

What on earth is going on?

-

On the other side, Xiao He had already taken the person straight into the nearby police station.

Luckily, as the commercial hub, Central Square had a police station right nearby, so finding a police officer was especially convenient. When Xiao He was small he had almost gotten lost once, and in the end he had come to the police station to ask for help.

Now that he walked in again, he felt an unexpectedly familiar sensation.

Because the square nearby had a large birthday celebration today and a lot of people were coming and going, the police station had been busy since early in the morning. Besides officers on crowd duty, people occasionally came to report lost items.

When Xiao He led the pair inside, the on-duty officers had already been swamped.

Seeing a man and a woman together, they at first assumed it was another couple coming to report something lost.

But when the veteran officer looked closely, he noticed the man in front emanated an ominous aura. Even through his mask, the officer could feel the manʼs dark expression and extremely bad mood. The woman following him was trembling, listless, terrified to the extreme, her eyes already full of tears.

That scene naturally put people on high alert.

”Whatʼs going on with you?”

He ignored the line of people waiting and walked straight to the entrance to meet them, his other hand already resting on the baton at his waist, his gaze inspecting them.

”Hello, Iʼm here to file a report.”

Xiao He was used to the keen scrutiny of old officers.

He did not tone down his demeanor at all. He deliberately directed a cold, murderous aura at the girl next to him, intentionally frightening her into a quivering quail, and felt no remorse.

And Niu Yuan could not withstand the killing intent he had accumulated over the years. She didnʼt even try to run; when she saw the uniformed officers approaching, she collapsed to the ground and burst into tears, ”Waa!”

She cried so pitifully that the entire hall fell silent for a moment.

Officer Ma stiffened, almost forgetting that the person who had just said they wanted to report something was actually the ”suspicious person” in front of him. Before he could question them, Xiao He spoke quickly: ”Officer Ma, my surname is Xiao. My mother is Teacher Bai from XX High School. When I was little and got lost, you brought me back.”

Huh?

Officer Ma was stunned, then his gaze fell on Xiao Heʼs exposed eyes. After a moment of thought, his eyes widened slightly. ”Ah? Itʼs you? No way, itʼs really you?”

Xiao He had become a local celebrity. When he returned here last year for his birthday event, Officer Ma had gone to the scene to help with security, and Xiao Heʼs mother, Teacher Bai, was a long-serving teacher at the regionʼs key high school. Many kids raised in this area had been her students to some degree.

That brief contact back then had often been something Officer Ma liked to bring up with pride.

So with those details put together, he immediately recognized Xiao Heʼs identity.

But very quickly his expression turned grave. ”Whatʼs going on? Come on, letʼs talk over there.”

Xiao He was a major star in their district, an important figure. If he had personally come here, it couldnʼt be a trivial matter.

Almost at the same time, Officer Ma was already thinking who he should report this up to.

Not that it was a joke. Since Xiao He skyrocketed to fame, he had brought significant revenue back to his hometown these past two years. His drawing power could be compared to Rong City becoming, in a manner of speaking, a ”Xiao He birthday pain city.” A big city like that, already strong on its own, couldnʼt resist the cultural tourism traffic Xiao He generated. How much less could a normal town like theirs?

If Xiao He hadnʼt repeatedly refused, the higher-ups would have insisted on having him host another hometown birthday event.

”Okay.”

Xiao He didnʼt plan to reveal anything in front of so many people. He nodded and followed Officer Ma inside.

...

A few minutes later, Officer Ma hurried out of the office.

”Hey, Xiao Yi, is your captain busy? Tell him to come over here.”

”Hey, Lao Qi, come back here quickly, thereʼs a big problem.”

”Hey, Director Chen, do you have any personnel available? We need a few more people to come and help...”

Officer Ma smoked as he called people one by one, and the batch of biscuits that had some unknown added ingredient had already been rushed off for urgent testing.

As for the extremist who had done this, she was also cuffed with silver bracelets.

Xiao He sat in the office as well, making phone calls.

Shanghai, Linghui Entertainment.

The Legal Departmentʼs lawyer had once again brought an assistant to report on the prosecution plans to Liu Rulan.

They were finishing their discussion when Liu Rulanʼs phone rang.

Seeing it was Xiao Heʼs call, Liu Rulan felt her brow start to pound inexplicably.

”This matter is on you guys, I need to take a call.”

Liu Rulan greeted the lawyers and stepped aside to answer.

As soon as the call connected, Liu Rulan cut straight to the point. ”You better not be bringing me bad news.”

Xiao He immediately fell silent.

Okay, why was Sister Liuʼs intuition always so accurate?

Liu Rulan gave a cold snort.

Hehe, this guy is definitely calling because somethingʼs wrong. If nothing was wrong heʼd probably be off who knows where having fun.

”Ahem, well, hereʼs what happened...”

Xiao He briefly explained the situation to Liu Rulan.

”Anti-fans launched a retaliatory mass poisoning?”

Liu Rulanʼs expression instantly turned serious. ”Is it the lethal kind or not? Is anyone injured?”

”Itʼs still under testing, but I donʼt think itʼs lethal. Fortunately I was lucky this time and stopped it when I came across her.”

”Was this her lone action, or is it an organized mass attack?”

Xiao He: ”Donʼt worry, it looks like a spur-of-the-moment act by her alone.”

The police might not be able to conclusively determine that yet; they needed a thorough investigation to rule out other possibilities. But he had already used the Golden Finger hypnosis on Niu Yuan and had extracted every detail from her.

After all, a poisoning incident handled poorly could become a major criminal case with social ramifications.

”But I think we should warn fans elsewhere,” Xiao He said seriously. ”Please, Sister Liu, inform the fan groups and the platforms with some public safety tips. Donʼt make it too explicit to avoid causing panic.”

For example, remind fans to attend events in an orderly manner, to look after valuables in crowds, not to accept food from strangers, and so forth.

He had to make his fans a little more vigilant.

If he was lucky this time and got there in time by chance, next time the malicious act might happen somewhere he couldnʼt cover by himself!

Thinking of that made Xiao He a bit agitated.

”Tsk.”

So sending a mild half-month nightmare package had been too gentle.

He would have to go back and add more next time!
