Brother Dao Took the Entertainment Industry by Storm, Fans Beg Me Not to Kill Anymore

Chapter 562: Xiao He’s Clarification—What an Arrogant Newcomer!

That night, when most people in China were already asleep, a new clarification video appeared on the largest video platform across the ocean.

[Not a team, not AI-generated. This is a clarification video.]

The user who posted the video was none other than ”xiaohei.”

At first, many people didnʼt understand what this meant. It wasnʼt until the account of the organizer, who also doubled as a platform blogger, liked and reposted this video that others within the industry circle finally caught wind of the news and rushed over.

The video was very long, a full two hours plus. It restored the production process of the contest entry ”Mecha Battle” for the rendering competition at one hundred times speed. It only edited out the time needed to wait for rendering and the break times for turning the computer on and off midway. The rest perfectly presented xiaoheiʼs entire creation process.

This video didnʼt add any background music, or rather, the video creator simply couldnʼt be bothered to add any. He just tossed a single sentence in the description: Complete newcomer. Entering the contest was just for practice. Have other things to do in real life. This account is only for clarification purposes. No need to follow.

Viewers on foreign websites were left utterly confused. Only those who knew the situation and had participated in the discussions were stung by these words, their faces flushing red with embarrassment.

[Oh, so xiaohei is just a newcomer?]

[Heʼs so arrogant!]

[My God, a newcomer has such an impressive production skill level? Thatʼs simply amazing!]
[Heʼs actually a beginner? How does it feel like a big shot returning to the beginner village in disguise? This technique really doesnʼt seem like a newbieʼs.]

[Actually, it does seem a bit like a newbie. Looking at the video, some steps are things beginners like to do, and it feels like xiaohei wasnʼt very familiar with some keybindings in the early stages, but became more and more proficient later on.]

[Alright, alright, so itʼs a genius. Iʼm heartbroken.]

[I told you guys, why did you have to provoke him? Now look, nobodyʼs happy.]

[We said it before about this work. The matter blew up so big, and the organizer didnʼt say anything, which definitely indicates the other party has no issues.]

[No, this doesnʼt prove xiaohei has no issues either, right? And this clarification is a joint clarification with the organizer. Doesnʼt that exactly confirm what was said before, that the organizer leaked the topic in advance?]

[@viker, what do you say? Any further evidence? Without evidence, itʼs just spreading rumors.]

[@viker.]

This guy called viker was precisely the one who first stepped forward to claim Xiao Heʼs work had problems. He was originally a participant in the rendering competition track as well, but his ranking wasnʼt very high. He often taught courses on various major platforms, essentially an overseas version of a paid-course teacher.

His malice towards Xiao He came inexplicably. At first, he probably just wanted to stir up some topics and grab some traffic. But because Xiao He never stepped forward to respond, it was as if viker saw the secret code to traffic. He began to take advantage of the rendering competitionʼs heat to frantically hammer away at Xiao Heʼs work.

Of course, he didnʼt just hammer Xiao Heʼs ”Mecha Battle”; he also targeted several other creators. However, these other works didnʼt have high name recognition or much topic appeal. After being targeted, they voluntarily withdrew from the competition, which conversely seemed to confirm that Xiao Heʼs work also had problems.

Unfortunately, no matter how much viker jumped around, Xiao Heʼs side never paid him any attention, which instead made viker look like a clown.

The organizerʼs side, of course, actively tried to communicate, but also due to Xiao Heʼs ”indifference,” there was no reply for a long time. Other companies watching from the sidelines naturally wouldnʼt step in to help either, choosing to just observe the situation.

However, anyone who had seen the project files submitted by this contestant still tended to believe this contestant had no issues.

Because even at the same technical level, everyoneʼs habits are different. Taking a not-so-absolute but simplest and most understandable example: the same file name, some people prefer uppercase, some prefer lowercase, others like to mix case in their notes, or are even too lazy to rename them one by one, directly using the default sequential generation... These are all individual habits in the absence of unified regulations.

This is also why many programmers joke: ”My code, only God and I can understand it.”

Then, a few years later, when the programmer leaves the company, the newly assigned programmer looks at the ”code decryption notes” left by the old guard and packs his bags to run away overnight.

Although itʼs a meme, it does hold some truth.

So, whether thereʼs a problem or not, you can actually spot clues by carefully observing these details.

This was also the reason why the organizer agreed to help clarify after Xiao He approached them.

However, after the clarification, how public opinion would trend was no longer under their control.

...

The clarification video quickly gained massive attention on foreign websites. Xiao He observed everyoneʼs feedback and, after finding no other anomalies, logged off.

For Xiao He, a practice competition was nothing particularly noteworthy, not even worth spending too much time on.

Itʼs just that while this matter could be considered closed for Xiao He, it triggered a huge wave of public opinion for viker.

The next morning, Xiao He got up as usual for filming. Around noon, he once again received an email message from the organizer.

—Xiao He really hadnʼt expected this matter to become more and more complicated.

”Heʼs accusing me of using AI modeling?”

Xiao He was stunned, fell silent for a moment, then was so annoyed he laughed.

This viker really was relentless. After Xiao He posted the video clarification, viker released another video, starting to accuse him of using AI for modeling, otherwise he wouldnʼt have such efficient production skills.

”Donʼt you organizers have any judgment of your own?” Xiao He questioned. ”The project files are clear, the clarification video is clear. These materials were all used within the scope permitted by your competition. You can also clearly see the separate model files. I donʼt understand the purpose of you continuing to make this call. Does the other party have any evidence?”

”Is it the other partyʼs baseless speculation that has you at a loss, or do you yourselves want to continue relying on this topic to maintain the heat of your personal accounts? I now seriously doubt your fairness and problem-solving ability.”

After being mercilessly criticized by Xiao He, the other party also felt somewhat awkward. They could only apologize repeatedly before hanging up the phone.

”Tch.”

Xiao He looked at his phone with extreme displeasure.

”Whatʼs wrong, Brother Xiao?”

Xiao Chen, who had just walked in carrying lunch, looked at Xiao He with a puzzled expression. ”Donʼt you want to eat the production teamʼs lunch today?”

”Itʼs nothing.”

Xiao He rubbed the space between his eyebrows. ”Itʼs just something I did casually that got tangled up with an idiot. Itʼs a bit annoying.”

If he had known he would encounter this kind of thing, he wouldnʼt have even bothered spending the time to submit the entry.

Itʼs laughable. Who does he think heʼs looking down on? With his skills, if he were to personally handcraft AI-assisted modeling and large-world structures, would he still need to spend those several days?

Xiao Chen didnʼt know who Xiao He was talking about, but he could only comfort him: ”Brother Xiao, donʼt be angry. Since itʼs just something you did casually, it means itʼs no pressure for you. If you encounter such an idiot, just slap him back casually. Thereʼs no need to take it to heart at all.”

Hearing Xiao Chenʼs words, Xiao He rested his chin on his hand and began to ponder.
